300 Rise of and Empire doesn't try to be something it isn't, which is a good thing. This film is here to entertain not to wow you with acting and character development. 300 has been and always will be a visual storytelling with huge battle and fight sequences. Take the movie for what it is, action packed entertainment, and I promise you will walk away very pleased with this movie!

In my opinion, this was a good movie just not as good as the first movie, 300. A lot of action, nudity, and foul language so FYI, not for younger audiences. The first movie, 300, I would watch again and again. Once was enough for this one.

Not the same quality as the original 300. I think the director went too far with the shooting blood in the fight scenes. It made it so unrealistic... A little slower than 300 as well. But a good movie to catch if you have a rainy weekend.

This movie is 'loosely' based on historical facts and is essentially fiction. That being said, I was still easily drawn into the story, visuals, acting, etc. This sequel begins where '300' left off in a smooth transition from one to the other. I LOVED this movie. Eye, ear, and mind candy leaving me ready for the next vision of this epic conflict. Yes, I was extremely entertained.

Now this is not as good as its predecessor but it is a decent movie with a lot of action. If you have seen the first then you should probably see (and want to see) this movie. As for the acting, Eva Green really stands out in this one.

New characters were interesting. The movie isn't really a sequel, the events in this movie take place at the same time as the original 300 movie, but just at a different location. The ending of this movie seems primed for another movie.

Not a sequel or prequel, this film more or less takes place at the same time as the original 300. I believe that this was post-converted to 3d. Post 3d conversion has markedly improved in the last few years to the point that sometimes it is difficult to tell the difference between movies filmed in 3d and those post converted. That being said, it still doesn't reach the level of Hugo or Life of Pi. There is a plot, but it really doesn't matter. The sole purpose of this film is to see warriors get dispatched by various means. Acting is ok, but you can never go wrong with Eva Green. While not a must see film, it is worthwhile to add to your 3d collection.

This is a good fiction movie that is the sequal to the 300 movie. It is not as good as the first, but it gives some more closure to what happened after the 300 where defeated. It is fiction so it is more entertaining to factual.

a good special effects movie, sequel to 300, however I feel this sequel is better then 300. There is more action and better special effects. The acting is above average, and keeps you involve while watching the movie. Its looks like there could be another sequel, in the near future. The blue-ray version I would recommend to buy, due to the special effects of the movie.

If you liked the first 300, then you are in for a treat! I will say its not quite as epic but the 2nd 300 is in 3D so it almost makes up for it. Good battle scenes like the first one, and a good price for a 3D blu ray.

I loved that it continued the battle of 300. I was entertained just like the original. This one did seem more graphic but so worth it. I'm a big fan of Sparta so this movie is great for anyone who is hooked on this type of movie. It is historical, but it doesn't seem stuffy like some of those 1800 Civil War era movies. If you bought the first one, buy this one too!

I REALLY LIKED THIS MOVIE I SAW IT IN THEATERS.. ALOT OF PEOPLE COMPLAIN BECAUSE ITS NOT A VERY GOOD "SEQUEL".. HOWEVER I REALLY ENJOYED IT AND FELT LIKE IT DID SEEMLESSLY CONTINUE THE STORY STARTED IN 300..

Picked up where the original left off without being awkward.I liked the continuity and the story unfolded as if there wasn't a break from the original. Although the ending was predictable this was a fine piece of entertainment.

This is a sequel to 300, but it could stand on it's own. The graphics and story telling are amazing, and Eva Green comes across magnificent, especially on a Big Screen HDTV. This is a must see Movie for any Collector! ALC

Not as good as the first and that could be because of the shock value on watching the first one. Still a good movie that follow up where they left off. Visual effects are really cool like before.

I love any mythical type movies and this one really made me excited. The story was well written. The actors and actresses great picks. Yes it was slightly predictable but the passion was there and the execution was flawless.

300: Rise of an Empire is a must watch for fans of the original 300. It takes place before, during, and after the events of 300 and depicts the battles at Marathon, the Artemisium Strait, and Salamis. It's good in all the ways the first movie was, with great action sequences and stories of valor, but also suffers from the original's limited historical accuracy.

This sequel to the immensely popular movie, 300, delivers in just about the same way that the aforementioned movie did: breathtaking CGI, dazzling battles, and intense acting. Gorgeous Eva Green steals the spotlight, though.

Visually amazing cinematography just like the first 300...as far a sequels/prequels go, it was good, but just not as great as the first. But it was fun to watch and I could think of worst things to do when nothing is on tv.

Even with the uniformly good performances — and the standout work from Ms. Green — 300: Rise of an Empire is foremost a triumph of production design, costumes, brilliantly choreographed battle sequences and stunning CGI.
