By far, the best one I've ever had

Recently, I upgraded from Philips Norelco 3100 to this one and I must say, this is a game changer. I have owned 4 trimmers before this one and it's safe to say that this is the best one I've ever had. I used the previous one for more than 5 years and it's battery would not hold charge for more than 10 mins anymore and still taking over a day to recharge. And if it came across any thick patch of beard, it would stop right there. That led me to think that it's the time to upgrade. When I think of beard trimmers, the only company that comes to my mind is Philips Norelco. I do not even look for any other brand. That's how much I admire this brand.
I came across this Philips Norelco 3000 beard trimmer and immediately got it to try it out. I'm glad I'm not disappointed. It already came charged out of the box. Philips claim the battery to last for 90 mins. I cannot comment on that yet because so far, I've only used it twice, for about 15 mins each time and it was still going strong. I don't think it needs charging yet. I think it can still go for about 2 more usages before the battery dies. The other one's blade moved very slowly even on a full charge but this one's way better. I could immediately feel the difference when used for the first time.
This is not a multigroom trimmer, so don't expect all the accessories with it (like different razor guards etc.) It comes with a charger, cleaning brush and a carrying pouch. That's it. No other bells & whistles. The trimmer has a nice grip which has a rubberized finish that doesn't let it fall off your hands. It also has a rotating dial that ranges from .5mm to 10mm length. My previous trimmer's dial became so sensitive that it would rotate by a gentle touch that has occasionally caused me some troubles. I use the trimmers at 6 setting or 5 at the least but due to the dial problem, the old one would shift to as low as 3 sometimes without me even realizing and now I look like a teenager desperately waiting for my beard to grow. I hope this trimmer doesn't go the same route in future. At the moment, the dial seems quite firm on the selected setting. Another thing that I would like to mention is that it's not waterproof, so don't use it as a wet shaver.
All in all, I am very much satisfied with this trimmer and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to buy one.

Perfect for beard trimming and sculpting

I have been trimming my beard the old-fashioned way, with scissors, for a long time. I haven't used an electric razor in many years, and didn't know what to expect. I am happy to report that this razor does an excellent job of trimming my beard.
When activated, the razor pules very solidly which is an indication of it's substantial power. But at no time did it vibrate in a way that made it difficult to handle. It is actually very smooth to handle, and I had no difficulty using it to precisely sculpt my beard.
I especially like the available trim setting of 0.5 (stubble short) to 10 mm. I am using the middle setting of 5 but am looking forward to experimenting with different lengths. The razor guard can be removed and this will allow you a to very closely edge your beard and side burns.
Razor blade quality:
The actual cutting mechanism is the best I have ever experienced in an electric. The blades cut my hair smoothly and cleanly, and the result is polished and even.
The trimmer feels very solid in my hand, and is very easy to handle because of the rubberized finish. I think the finish will also help with shock absorption if dropped on a hard bathroom floor.
Important unpacking step:
There is a small paper tab protecting the blades that must be removed before the first use. It could be easy to miss, and the razor will not work properly if not removed.

I keep coming back to Norelco Trimmers

Philips Norelco - 3000 series Beard Trimmer
I keep coming back to Norelco’s groomers and trimmers. They provide a feel of quality, with a comfortable weight and a sense of near professional smoothness, with minimal vibration. Although this trimmer is wrapped in more plastic than metal, the motor feels very strong and the actual cutting edges offer quiet, precise beard trimming.
This particular design is very convenient, because Norelco has made the adjustable guide slide into distinct cutouts in the case, with stops that are obvious and effective. Or. you can just pull the guide off if you want to get close for making sharp edges in your beard or mustache. The body of the Trimmer has a solid feeling rotating drum which moves the cutter closer or further from the guide.
The easy-to-open packaging includes a fabric carry case and the power wart which can be plugged in during use. The Lithium battery promises a very long use cycle.

Basic trimmer

The Philips Norelco 3000 is a decent basic trimmer. I like the integrated guard and ease of adjustability, though I wish it had higher settings. At the highest (10) it cuts around the length of a #2 trimmer guard. The trimmer is a little buzzy, but it rattles extensively with the guard extended. Another minor annoyance I noticed is the power button seems to be hinged and sometimes sticks. Beyond these minor issues it does a good job trimming your beard, assuming you keep it at a relatively short length. If you are shopping for a basic low cost trimmer to fit your budget, this one may make the ‘cut’.

My favorite electric razor

I’ve had about half a dozen electric razors since my teenage years, one really standing out over the others, until I got this gem.
Out of the gate, this comes with the shaver, wall charger, a cleaning brush, instructions, and a carrying pouch. To my surprise, it was charged upon removal from the box and a normal 8 hour charge, will hold up to 90 minutes of use.
The razor has a detachable guard for an extra close shave, but the product excels most with the guard being used alongside the adjustable length wheel. The length wheel has ten settings, ranging from a .5mm length to 10mm to shave anyone with a lumberjack beard to someone more interested in a five o clock shadow.
The only real con for me was that it didn’t come with an extra attachment for trimming your ears or nose, but the con doesn’t offset the pros.
Besides the one hiccup, this is easy to use, safe, has got me the desired shave length every time, and best of all, with the length changing wheel, you can stop worrying about constantly having to change the guard head like razors of the past.

My favorite thing about this trimmer is that it has only one guard so you don’t have to keep up with a million attachments. very easy to use and clean. Has more than enough length options. I do a 2 on my head and a 7 on my beard. Easy to travel with as comes with a small carry case for the trimmer and charger. Doesn’t take up much space. Charge lasts forever - long battery life. Battery usually lasts the entire 2 weeks at a time that I travel. I got a few models before this one several years ago and used it until it fell apart. Durable piece of equipment.

This is a practical and easy-to-use beard trimmer. Settings are simple to set and the battery holds its charge well. I cannot comments on how long the blade will hold its sharpness, because I only purchased it slightly over one month ago, but it does trim well.

This Norelco 3000 series trimmer cuts my beard hair with ease. The length adjustment is easier to set than any of my previous trimmers; it also stays in position and doesn't slip. The battery life is fantastic!!

My old beard trimmer quit on me so I had to purchase a new one. I had originally purchased a different beard trimmer from a different brand, and more expensive, but I did not like it. So I exchanged for this one and I love it. The battery lasts for a long time, the blades are sharp, and the guard is easy to use. I like the dial to change the height setting of the guard. The trimmer is good with the guard on and also for lining up the beard edges with the guard off. It is sturdy and easy to hold.

I have had a short beard for about 5 years. My previous hair trimmer was not half as good as this one for maintaining a clean, well trimmed beard. Attachments are easy to use and disassemble to clean. Holds a charge for a long time. Light weight and easy to trim both sides of face whether you are rt. handed of left handed.
