Unfortunately, 3DR stopped producing this airframe. This airframe is very responsive and easy to operate. Only downside now is trying to find replacement props. Other than this issue the SOLO is one of my favorite platforms to operate.

I found out it was all very not true...! Caus my solo fly great, behaving really nice in the air. I have it for almost 6 weeks and taking it to the park almost every other day and so far all good. And yes I understand that 3DR closed and stop manufacture and supporting it. But don't forget that this drone sold for more than 1500$ last year... Yes I saw on YouTube the idiot that enjoyed trashing this company but in some point I didn't buy his story caus this is a nice drone and a lot of technology is built on this toy. I would not know if professional movies can be made with it but having fun... no doubt.. and I wish 3DR will be back on track with it in the future caus they did good so far...

I looked for several Drones before getting the 3DR Solo. Although a couple of negatives, I went ahead and am pleased I did. It worked flawless out of the packaging. I installed the GoPro Silver and the results from the gimble are fantastic, no rocking or swinging, just smooth transitions. When you stop or change directions, the 3DR sways and rocks, but no movement is shown in the video. Very easy to get used to the controls. I first used my iPhone, but quickly decided it wasn't going to work so I purchased an iPad Mini - much better results. Only criticism is some of the text is too small so trying to read it on the iPad screen (which is very reflective), is impossible, you have to learn where the options are (or get inside your vehicle). I guess it's best to fly on overcast days without bright sunshine - hard to do in the "Valley of the Sun" - Phoenix. So practice, practice, practice on "dull" days so you can read the screen options. I guess a problem with all drones is battery life, only around 18 minutes of "safe" flying. Remember, you need time to get it back, you don't want it to fall down from 20'. I would recommend getting at least another 2 - 3 batteries and an inverter 12vdc - 110ac so you can charge the batteries in your car. This unit can carry an additional 1lb of "cargo". I can't see ever using this feature, I'd rather use that weight allowance to have a longer life battery. There's a couple of Youtubes showing how to make battery replacements. There must be a way of using better cells or more of them (weight allowance), to give longer flying times. This certainly is a great unit with useful options (Follow me / Selfie / Fly a GPS defined route very useful, etc). I'm experimenting with some new props from Masterairscrew supposed to give longer flying time. I fitted them and they are quieter and give a faster lift-off. Haven't experimented with time duration yet. In all very happy, great unit. Spoke to customer support once, very helpful. Apparently, they are concentrating on industrial side and moving away from "hobby" side. If you look on their website, the unit they now sell direct is $12,500 !!! Looks like the same unit. Better buy another $299 unit quick. I'm getting another to put into storage in case I crash this one. Also, check around for batteries they vary from $44 - $130.

I am happy with my 3DR drone. Has great distance and clarity. It was easier to navigate than other ones I tried. Also I feel it was a good price point compared to other models.

After many reviews and youtube video (being old) I made my own determination. Drone flys great no issues very responsive. Videos and pictures are great with gimble of course.

This is my first drone I have purchased and was expecting a hard time flying it. But it is actually really easy to fly. The only issue I have is syncing my GoPro H3+ silver.

Picked this drone up when it was on sale. This was my first drone of any sort and I love it. Very easy to use and comes with a lot of features that is so worth the price.

The price was so good I bought a second one. At this price I had to be a second one it's the best drone for the money and the easiest to teach newbies on.

Good Price but needs upgraded GPS module. The included Rev B GPS is slow. Range is only mediocre compared to more expensive models but you do get great pictures and options for a cheap price.

Be sure to watch the videos first and fly in open area. It's fun and easy. The battery runs for about 15 minutes so a spare battery is highly recommended. Wear sunglasses when it's a sunny day. You look up often!

Has a lot of features for the price, and will get you quality aerial videos and photography with your go pro. Cons: Hard to get a gps lock sometimes. Or it takes awhile.

This is a really great drone and it's a shame that the few ones that Best Buy has are probably the only ones left for sale. It was the first drone I had (well I had one of those $40 cheap drones that I destroyed on it's first flight - :>) ) but when I got the SOLO I started flying it right away and I have NEVER crashed it. Follow the instructions, look at the videos on You Tube and you'll have the same experience.

Flies likes there's no tomorrow. Is fast and beautiful. Easy to fly for the first time.

I enjoy this smart quadcopter. I have two. Unfortunately, it is now out of production and parts are becoming hard to come by. It has many advanced features and a good array of smart shots available with gps navigation. I am sad to see 3DR leave the market for other robotic ventures. I only wish they had sold the rights to another company so that this open system could reach its full potential. I still am not unhappy about my investment and am having fun with this great quad. With the open architecture, I am hopeful that some great programmers will keep innovation alive here.

Reviews will show you that some people have had some issues with these... or it could be that they just want to write a bad review that isn't necessary. Who knows. I can say for my experience with this thing is that mine has been flawless. It has done everything I have attempted and with ease.

I read a lot of bad reviews about 3dr Solo drone on youtube, amazon and the web in general. I was so hesitant to buy it given all negative reviews. I braved it and ordered it from BestBuy. All I have to say is WOW. this thing is a masterpiece and flawless. I'm so glad I made this purchase. I've done only two flights so far and everything went well and the drone does what 3dr said it does. I'm going to keep evaluating this product and I will definitely update if my opinion changes. I'd like to point out too that BestBuy made this purchase so hassle free and pleasant. I'm so happy with their 2 days free shipping.

I've had other drones before this and I am an enthusiast. Ofcourse it has kinks to work out but with anything with lots of features and technology there's expected things that will go wrong. That's part of the fun. Overall, I feel that anyone who are into drones should own a Solo to get the experience. I bought an extra one as backup.

I'm a UAV enthusiast and this bundle is a great price. The range on the SOLO 3DR is limited so you can have issues with connectivity. Unlike the DJI, aftermarket enhancements are enabled (and encouraged). By switching out the antennas on the receiver for some $20 directional antennas this drone now takes better pictures than my phantom and can fly at comparable distances. I am looking at switching out the wifi cards on the drone next, but this simple fix has made this drone pretty nifty.

I chose the Solo because of the great reviews I saw online. As with any product there are some down falls. However, overall it had great reviews. This continues with my personal review. The build quality truly impressed me. The quad handles wonderfully and I have no complaints thus far. It is easy to fly and land.
