While the product comes with 1 battery, you really want to own multiple batteries to swap out in the field when flying for maximum enjoyment without having to recharge the battery.

I now have 3 of these smart batteries for my 3DR Solo. They work great and give 18-20 minutes flight time with my gopro in tow.

3DR just makes a good solid battery. No bulk, a nice molded frame around it, and power meter LED's that can even be seen on the unit in flight when low enough to see (although of course the controller also provides this information more accurately). With an average 22-25 minute flight time, even three will give you a full hour's worth of flight. They can be pricey, but they're worth every penny.

I am very glad I got this extra battery. It makes flying so much more fun because I can fly longer without having to conserve flight time. I highly recommend it!

This is the smart battery for the 3DR Solo sUAV and an amazing, required, piece of technology! In order to power your 3DR Solo, you need this particular battery which is LiPo technology. Historically, LiPo batteries are the most fickle of the industry and require special handling (charging, storage, use, etc) but 3DR makes it very easy to manage. Unlike 99% of other quadcopters, the 3DR Solo Battery contains the “brains” inside. These brains not only control the functionality of the battery but it also allows it to communicate with your controller. As long as your controller is communicating with your drone, while in air or on the ground, you’ll know exactly how much battery/time you have left. As for charging it, you can use the separately purchased 3DR battery charger or a much better one, like the Hitic X4 which allows up to 4 batteries to charge at one time. Look online for more information about that. Initially, these batteries were $150 each but after 3DR discontinued manufacturing of Solo, the price started coming down, big time. I was able to pick up several of these for only $50 each from BB. Not that you have a choice of battery with you Solo, you have to use this one, but 3DR did a great job with this product. Used in conjunction with the quad, newbies to the sport will be delighted to “plug and play”!

Not much to say here other than this product performs as intended. I have 2 batteries and always alternate between them. I love the charge indicator on the battery, as well as how easy they are to charge. There is only one way to plug them in and they automatically turn off when charging is complete. If there is any complaint to be made it would be how long they take to charge. they seem to take closer to 2 hours to charge using the charger that comes with the Solo but this has never been an issue for me since i always have plenty of time between flying to fully charge them.

Battery comes half charged from the manufacturer. Gloss black finish is good looking as well. I get about 19-22 minutes of flight time without the gimbal.

I would recommend this for the 3DR Solo drone. I have five of these batteries and they extend flying time.

A necessity of you have the drone. Flight time is anywhere from 15-25 minutes depending on your type of flying. Smart circuit built in that will drain the battery to a storage level of you don't use it. That's a very important feature because of the nature of lithium batteries.

Increase your flight time longer and let's you obtain more footage while orig battery is on charge.

Having the spare battery gave me a lot of extra usage time with the drone! An essential for me!

With the drone only lasting for 20 minutes on original battery, multiple batteries become necessary. Unfortunately, they are pricey. Solid quality.
