Not worth the money...especially with sound bar. I'd rather switch the hdmi cord by hand

    Awesome 4-Port Switch

I purchased this switch as well as a rocketfish hdmi cable to set up my Xbox One, PS4, and Desktop Computer to my computer monitor (TV), and have had no problems with it. The issue I was running into prior was having 3 hdmi cables and only 2 hdmi inputs on my 5 year old RCA 32inch. It became apparently clear that having to constantly move around inputs was too much of a hassle. This Rocketfish HDMI Switch took care of all that. It has a button on the top to easily switch which hdmi cable (device) for use. It also came with a remote too, I just haven't gotten around to trying the remote yet.

This nifty device solved my issue of having too few Hdmi ports on my tv. Now I'm able to have all my devices connected and switch between them with relative ease.

    Had my concerns

After reading the reviews I didn't know how adding this would work out. I have an older TV with only 2 HDMI ports but wanted to add Apple TV. So decided to take a chance and to had Geek squad install everything using the Total Tech program, including a replacement Harmony remote. They came out did a great job and the surprise was that they also programed the HDMI switcher and Apple TV into the Harmony remote. So TV, blue ray, Apple TV, Directv, audio are all controlled with that one remote. The screen on the remote has buttons for each device, one press and I'm accessing the function I want. Sweet. The HDMI switcher automatically switches to whatever function I choose.

Just bought a new sound bar and needed an HDMI switch to connect the DirecTV, bluray player, video game and iPod. This switch does everything i need and I love that it comes with a remote to switch between devices.

This product worked okay for 6 months then stopped working altogether. I took it back to Best Buy and they gave me a new one, which I haven't hooked up yet. When it's working, it got the job done. Except the TV would just randomly switch inputs every time it was turned on or the channel changed for the first time. This was annoying after the remote broke. Overall, at $70-80, I think the cost for the product is a little high for what you get.

My older Panasonic plasma has only one HDMI port. So what to do when you have a Blu-ray and a X-box 360 Kinect to connect? Buy one of these. Realized when I got home that I needed another HDMI cable (output) so make sure you have enough for all your inputs + an output before you leave the store. Very easy to install. Has been working perfectly for past 3 weeks.

Works, but not as well as expected.

The automatic switching feature only works for some items, in my case only my BD player. When I manually switch back to my Dish box I rarely have sound. If the HDMI switch is turned off and then on I will then usually have sound. I have everything programmed through my Harmony remote and can only work the power on and off, not the input selection, maybe more compatibility with the remote versus an issue with Rocketfish. Overall I am not satisfied with this product. It has been removed from the TV, I will just switch cables in and out as needed. I expected more from this item because of the price, it is still comparable to 15 dollar internet cheapos that rarely work properly with just a ridiculous price. Will be contacting BestBuy for a return, but will more than likely be stuck with it because I didn't install the product until a few days beyond my return window.

    Functions almost perfectly.

The unit performs very well. It switches between sources as designed. However, when I first switch from TV to the RocketFish, the HDMI source that the RocketFish is tuned to is not immediately recognized. I need to switch to another RocketFish channel and then back again. Once I do this, it works fine.

    RocketFish HDMI 4 Port Switch

I bought this device because I added an Apple TV to my set and did not have enough HDMI inputs. It works but occasionally needs to be turned On then Off again in order to see the TV again after viewing another Video source.

I have an older LCD 1080p tv with only 2 HDMI inputs. I bought the Rocketfish to accommodate my Uverse cable box, Xbox 360, PS3, and Apple TV. The device automatically switches to the device you turn on and works well except for my Apple TV 2 box, which requires me to manually switch to its input on the selector either on the device itself or with the mini remote included with the selector. Otherwise automatic switching seems to work well 90% of the time. I've had the selector for almost 1 Year.

    Auto-Switching Is Unintelligent

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I do not like the auto-switch performance. Auto-switching on this product is driven entirely by a connected HDMI device powering on. When a connected device is powered on and starts to send an HDMI signal, the HDMI switch automatically selects that device as the input signal. So what happens if a device is powered on while another is already sending a signal? Well, if one device is sending a signal, for example, a set top box that is always on or in standby, and then a Blu Ray player is powered on, then this HDMI switch auto-switches to the Blu Ray player. So good so far. Unfortunately, that's where the compliments end. You see, when the Blu Ray player is switched off, this device doesn't auto switch back to the other connected device which is continuing to send a signal, because this product only auto-switches when a device is powered on. So the set top box, in this example, must be powered off, and then back on, for auto-switching to function. Alternatively, the unit may be manually switched by remote or a button on the product. Extremely inconvenient. This is in contrast to other HDMI switches, which more intelligently switch back if one device is powered off but another powered on device continues to send a signal. Even this is no help if you have multiple devices that are sending a signal at once. But it is far more helpful than the Rocketfish implementation. Adding to the inconvenience is the 5 volt AC/DC adapter. The product won't function at all without it. Many HDMI switches use the more convenient micro USB connector standard, and some even function without a dedicated power cable/supply if a connected HDMI device is capable of passing power through the HDMI connection, such as the Nvidia Shield. I'm returning the product for a much smarter product I got at a different retailer.

I gave my tv to my son and lightning had damaged one of the tv's HDMI ports. This helps prevent from unplugging cords and switching between devices. It's pricey but worth it. I almost threw away the remote! It's in the same box as the power cord, but very thin so don't accidentally throw the remote away!

Looked around on-line for a HDMI switch since my TV only has 2-HDMI inputs. I took some time to try find one that would be dependable and switch as it should. This device does exactly what it's supposed to do. It worked perfect out of the box. I'm more then happy with this purchase!

I connected 4 HDMI units to this selector. The best clarity!! However, when I tried to play a movie on my Sony Blu-ray player, the screen was blank and no sound. The movie was playing. I checked all the settings and still couldn't get any movie to play.

It worked ok with all of my game consoles, but it wouldn't pick up the audio from a Windows tablet. Thought it was my tablet or my HDMI cord, cuz surely a brand new $50 HDMI switch wouldn't be the problem, right? After then testing a Windows laptop, it did the same thing. I swapped out the HDMI cable going from the HDMI switch to the tv as well, still no dice. Then bought a cheapo HDMI switch from Amazon for $10, works perfect, audio and video from ALL of my devices goes through, even I my Windows machines. Sorry BB, I always look to you guys first, but Amazon won this round.
