Pretty good HDMI switcher

This HDMI switch does a good job at switching between your HDMI inputs with no video or audio loss. It takes a second or two from the time you press the Input Select button on the unit before it actually switches to that input but not a big deal.
However the Auto Detect on my unit does not work at all so I always have to press the button on the unit. Not a huge deal, but it IS supposed to work.
Overall I am happy with the switcher, but I still believe it is priced about $50 too high. Having the remote control is a very nice feature as well. If you have multiple HDMI devices to connect and only 1 port free this unit will do the job for you!

Open and set up out of the box was good.
Then you start to use the actual piece of caca and it doesn't work. First when you go to turn on your tv and it's hooked up to the switch you will always have to go from one input to the other so that it is able to read it. You will have this problem every time you turn on your tv. It should not be this bug ridden for the price. It works when it wants. You can try power up then power down. But that doesnt work. You can try and switch (lol) see what I did there) the HDMI connections to see if this fluke and or delay in noticing what is conecting to it will change the way it works. But it will not. It doesn't matter what you do with it. It will not work the correct way without you having to complain about the lag it has when you turn on your tv with your cable box and or with anything else that it is connected to. If you buy this expensive switch you will be wasting your time and money. Go with something else other than Rocket Fish. Because the name stays true to what it is. A fish..........it will swim away with your money and Rocket your anger and frustration to the next level. Good luck and have fun if you buy this PO1S.

So far so good. I am replacing a 1 year old (almost to the date) KINIVO HDMI switch that just "gave up the ghost" 4 days ago. I needed a replacement and found this at BB. The price tag was the highest of any HDMI switches I have seen online. I certainly hope that all of the inputs work on this unit for longer than 1 year. For the price, I am almost considering going and buying 2 (or 3) less expensive units if they all "stop working" fully or partially. BTW, why don't TV manufacturers just standardize the number of HDMI ports on their product...4 in the back and 1 on the side sounds about right, right??

I bought this used for $4.36 and, it has worked great for me. I wouldn't buy it for $102.99 but, well worth the $4.36 I have in it.
My Dish Network box works great at 720p or 1080i.
Xbox 360 slim works great at 720p, 1080i and 1080p.
PS3 works great at 720p and 1080i but, doesn't work great when 1080p is switched on.
The auto switching that some people have complained about, doesn't bother me, because I can push the button on the remote.
I like how it turns on/off when the TV is turned on/off.

Bought this so that I can run a single HDMI cable through the wall and to the wall mounted TV. The unit works as advertised and is compatible with Harmony remotes, so I don't have to worry about auto switching or using the little remote that comes with it!

Works great, but careful hooking it up

the first time I hooked this up I was very disappointed and was going to return it, but I decided to try one more time and it worked great the second time. The only thing I did differently was the first time I had power connected to the box as I was connecting the HDMI cables. The second time I did not plug in the power cable until all HDMI cables were hooked up and it worked great.
I'm pretty sure had I read the instructions it may have said this, but well let's face it who actually reads those?

When I gave my daughter my Xbox 360, there weren't enough HDMI slots on her TV to accommodate the extra HDMI cable. With minimal effort, I added the 4-Port HDMI Switch and, to-date, everything is running perfectly.

I bought this HDMI switch to enable me to have multiple HDMI devices connected to my Cisco EX90 Personal TelePresence System, and it works great!!!
I can simultaneously have my MacBook Pro, Cisco Cius, iPad, and iPhone all connected and be able to share their screens while on a video call or conference.
Just what I was needing.

This is a good product however BestBuy over charges for it by a significant amount. RocketFish is a Best Buy brand so they are charging like 1000% mark up. I know the ins and outs.
However, to any future buyer search for this product on EMTCompany's website and it's only $27.95....
BestBuy just price matched me so I saved $52 making this product even more enjoyable : )

We have only one port on TV hence had to look for a solution. Bought $40 switcher from electronic store, remote did not work properly, was returned the next day. Bought 3-port switcher cable from eforcity through Best Buy, this item accepted signal from Sony Blue Ray but did not accept Satellite TV (DirectTV), was in process to return this item to eforcity.
While at Best Buy to pick up a battery charger bought this rocketfish in hopes this pricey unit would solve problem. Hooked everything up and unit accepts satellite TV but does not accept signal from Sony Blue Ray.
Now I had two different switchers, each which would accept only one input. Found solution by plugging 3-port switcher cable into port on back of TV and now the TV has 3 ports. Satellite box was plugged into rocketfish port 1, then Rocketfish output was plugged into port 1 of eforcity cable, and Sony Blue Ray was plugged into port 2 of this cable bypassing the rocketfish and everything worked. I have no idea why eforcity cable now accepts satellite signal after routing it through the Rocketfish first. This was my $100 solution to plugging in just two devices into my 1-port TV. Oh, and by the way, the Rocketfish does not automatically switch between devices no matter how it is hooked up, you HAVE to use the remote to move between devices.
This experiment was performed today 11-22-13 now we have to wait and see if any of this self-destructs as mentioned in some of the other reviews.

I purchased this product primarily because I have multiple devices that utilize hdmi and my tv only has 2 hdmi ports. This product is pretty self explanatory in setup. You hook all your hdmi's into the switch and one out from the switch to the tv. It's almost like an Audio/Video receiver but in a small form factor and without speaker hookups.

Not that good

This switch worked as advertised some of the time, but I found myself having to unplug the HDMI cables nearly every time I changed from one device to another. So, yes, you get extra ports, but the transitions are not smooth, and depending on your setup, may not be feasible since you may need to unplug the device before using.

I bought this because my Sony surround sound only has 2 inputs. I have a PS3, laptop and cable box I use. Whenever I would use the laptop, I would have to swap out the HDMI from the PS3. It wasn't really that big of a pain, UNLESS I forgot and had just sat down...which happened a lot.
This device eliminates the need me to swap cables. I now switch between devices seamlessly, with no effort. Love it!

Have had this for about 14 months before it went out. Worked well enough while it lasted but there are probably better made units out there for a little more money. Quality isn’t very good, kind of cheaply made. If you don’t mind replacing it every year, then it’s ok.

This item does not switch automatically.
Does not pass signal through of last connected device when restarting the device, for example when you turn on the TV, and Satellite Rcvr in the morning. Have to cycle through all positions to the desired input.
