Be careful when redeeming your insurance. This is great to have if your NEED A REPLACEMENT ON YOUR LENS.But I would advise to see your local trusted camera shop guy before assuming that the behind the scence staff at BB really can deter main the damage if any to your item. Once you use your insurance. You have to buy another insurance coverage. I took a lens in i hardly used to have it looked at for a funny sound. End up replacing with a new one since bb said they could not fix it. I later learned it was because there was nothing to fix. It was a n ultra sonic lens and it made that sound on focus. I should have done my homework first. I USED up my insurance for nothing. Further more they said If I wanted to the new lens covered I would need to buy new insurance BTW my current coverage should had still been acitvated. But I guess it does not matter . And they TRIED to get me to pay the tax amount on the current price of the replaced lens. smh. So in a nut shell its great if YOU KNOW FOR A FACT YOU NEED IT.

Purchased a warranty with a laptop before, but it was tough getting them to restore a corrupt OS, so I had to go to two different stores to get help. Before the laptop warranty I had one on a tablet and that was much easier getting help with.

Only gave average because I haven't had to use this service as of yet. Still a few months to go.

I got a few days left on my coverage. I did not get a chance to use it but it gave me peace of mind knowing I had it.

I was hoping that the hype for this lens was real. Unfortunately, the hype was bad news. Unless you do not care if the lens works in all situations and all camera settings. The usable aperture for this lens is F4-F11. Using this lens at F1.8 at 64 ISO renders a blurry picture. This is most noticeable when shooting outdoor on a sunny day and when there is contrast in the scene. This makes this lens useless, since most semi-pro photographers take photos in varying light conditions. Since Nikon no longer makes lens/camera bodies in Japan the quality has hit rock bottom. Thailand? Please!!!!!

There is such a disconnect between the geek squad info for the protection and the actual camera repair shop. Very poor experience with my first go around. Hopefully if I need it again it won't be so bad.
