I am a big sports fan, but not always a fan of sport movies because they typically make them too "Hollywood" to be believable. That's not the case with this one. It is well done and I enjoyed it.

Obviously some of the historical facts are embellished a bit (it is Hollywood after all), but this movie is a great narrative of the story of Jackie Robinson breaking the color barrier in baseball. Heart-wrenching at times; heart-warming at other times; it is overall a great tale of courage, fortitude, and determination. Highly recommended!

42 is a phenomenal film. Jackie Robinson is a true inspiration and changed not only the game, but is one of the least talked about pioneers in the Civil Rights Movement. Everybody needs to see this movie.

I love baseball and this was an excellent movie! Very enjoyable and the fact that it is based on a true story, makes it even better. I could watch it again. Jackie Robinson was quite a player and person!

This was a great gift for my baseball player son. The story is an American history lesson for every kid that plays the wonderful sport of baseball. My son was so happy to receive this for Christmas.

This is a great movie! Top notch! Jackie Robinson had a great deal of tenacity and overcame a lot of adversity. He made giant steps in breaking through racial barriers. The movie was very inspiring!

Great movie. I bought it for my dad. I had my copy for years. Chadwick one again brought this story of Mr. Jackie Robinson to life.

Not a documentary. It actually tells the story of Jackie Robininson's life in the Big League. He was 'forced' to act differently than he would have otherwise wanted. And it worked!

42 is a movie that I purchased and watched with my kids. I wanted to have them see how things were in this country not too long ago. We enjoyed the movie and had great conversations afterwards.

On Black Friday Weekend, I purchased it for $1.99!! I hadn't seen it it the movies and wanted it in my library. I scored big! Documents a historic part of African American history--my history.

I'm a sucker for baseball movies and 42 is a good one. It stands up. They did a great job with the sets and making it feel like you go back in time with Jackie Robinson. Harrison Ford is great.

One of the better movies about real people I"ve seen thus far. It gives a great look inot what JR faced in that day and age. However it is a little watered down but great movie for all to see.

This is a wonderful story about a great ballplayer who went up against all of the odds of his day and the discrimination that came along with it. He paved the way for many more like him to follow.

This movie is very historically accurate and very entertaining. I liked the movie a lot but it ended to soon. It should have continued on about Jackie's career and world series games a little bit.

This is a Dvd/story I had wanted to learn more about for some time. So when I received a Best Buy free gift certificate to use in store I'm glad it was available.

Yeah, it's like an A-list TV movie, but baseball fans won't care. Everyone else, however, can rejoice with the fact that 42 provides us with another rare Chadwick Boseman starring role, and he's fantastic in it. The gifted actor plays Jackie Robinson as a conflicted, rightfully suspicious almost reluctant hero. Harrison Ford, on the other hand (as Branch Rickey), while entertaining, seems to be channeling the Lionel Barrymore School of the Curmudgeonly Cantankerous. The Blu-ray looks nice, and the price makes it a grand slam.

One of my favorite baseball movies. Not an easy subject to get right, but this movie exceeded my expectations. Excellent choice of actors, overall a great movie.
