Other than aesthetic appeal, I love the graduated measurements, pouring spout, and included lid. Contrary to what some reviewers have said, this *does* lock into a 5qt Artisan, you just have to thread it correctly. These go on sale periodically, keep an eye out.

Perfect Product

Well I was wrong, seems like they are electronics and more. My original one cracked because the base had a metal base attached to the glass bowl. This is a much better better bowl design the base it is completely glass. Plus price was better than other sites, including kitchen aid.

I wound up mostly using the glass bowl and it came with a plastic snap on lid which keeps the inside of the bowl clean when storing it. I love it. Looks great, has thick walks and good weight. Definitely recommend this for both aesthetics and functionality.

After all, a newbie cook needs all the help he can get. :)
