IT'S BETTER TO HAVE IT THAN NOT TO HAVE IT!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased my TV and literally two weeks later as I was cleaning it, it began to fall forward, I caught it but I put a pressure crack in the screen where my thumb pressed the side of the screen to save it from the fall. It also popped the screen out of the lip on the edge exposing about 2"-3" inside of the TV along the side, and bent as well as I scratched it in a few spots. It all happened within a matter of seconds so I have no idea how it bent and scratched so easily, but it did! There's also an approximate 6L"×2W" dark spot along the side and an approximate 3"L feather like up stroke right below that where the actual crack is; however, the TV still works perfectly fine. I called the Geek Squad and she said without hesitation "It's a complete and total loss, and it would take about as much to replace the screen as the TV cost, and we don't cover accidents." I ultimately called back and canceled my protection plan because after thinking about it, why am I paying for something I can't use? They reimbursed my account and backdated the weeks I've had the TV, providing me the full $130 refund for the protection plan, so at least I'm not at a complete loss, only an $1100 loss. My heart is SO broken!!!

TV is great need better remote

Service center is of little help

Within a month of buying our new TV set it started acting up. When you call for assistance you’re calling out if the country. I don’t care about that , it’s just that when you can’t understand the person you’re taking to and your request to be transferred to The USA and get ignored, that’s frustrating . I believe the person on the other end is trying to help but then refusing my request is disrespectful . I went to the Best Buy near me and they would not take a service request, they said I had to call it in.

Geek Squad protection

Hopefully if the time comes I need to use it, there won’t be any additional problems.

Helpful but hard to understand

Some items don't qualify and that's not what i thought when i purchased. Now i buy individual protection for each item, it's easier to understand. The services are pricy so i never sought them out.

5 year service plan

Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.OK , got the 5 year service plan for TV, not sure if it is worth it for a TV like other products, was told if any problems I could swap out Tv and even upgrade, Tv had an issue took it in and then told no, they have to try to repair it first so had to take the Tv back and then call and set up service, takes about a week, they made a repair did not fix it, had to wait another week to try again, still not fixed so waiting on another week, what got me was the reasons they gave for the problem with the Tv,just didn't pan out, like after not quite two years of reception, it must be my antenna, while my other Tv's still got reception, then this Tv's tuner must not be as good as the cheaper models of the same brand that were getting reception but it was like anything but the Tv, I felt like they aren't going to let me get another Tv if there is any other possible reason besides the Tv, so now it is on me to figure out otherwise !" I" finally figured out or narrowed it down that it wasn't the tuner or my antenna because I got my signal back and narrowed it down to a USB problem that it seems no one can understand, so happy I got it to work again but my Tv still doesn't function as it should, could be a firmware problem but bottom line, I paid for all the functions and EXTRA for a SERVICE that wasn't worth the frustration and time that I have had to deal with, that $80-$90 could have been spent on a new TV and the time spent watching it, sorry !

Honored my warranty

His tv went out within a year of purchase, and after I contacted customer service to let them know they did honor my warranty but let me know since I was getting a new item I would have to repurchase the warranty.

Not so good depending on TV you get

What I don't like is it doesn't kick in until a year after you purchase which wasn't obvious when I bought the TV. You have to go through the TV provider for the first year on most models. So, basically, you are paying for a 4 year plan instead of a 5 year, because you can't use the plan in the first year of owning your tv. The bottom line, you shouldn't be charged for a 5 year plan if it is only good for 4 years.

Basic 4k hdtv
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.It is a nice basic 4k smart tv, but the operating system is just so different for me, and it doesnt get some streaming channels, 1 very important to me i ended up getting an Amazon fire stick. It only has 1 hdmi connection as well which is really a pain. Another thing i had to add onto this, an hdmi splitter which worked ok for 1 day. Oyy.

Geek Squad installed/mounted my tv.

Bestbuy Doesn't Care About Customer Loyalty!

Bestbuy has lost touch with their loyal customer base in regards that they want to push That 179.99 a year Total Tech Plan every time you purchase an item and that's where you are automatically enrolled in a card blanche protection plan (FOR AS LONG AS YOU PAY 179.99 YEARLY)!!! Making the regular protection plan mediocre at best. A SCAM and a money grab if you ask me. especially when for as far as I can remember I've been an Elite Status member for spending a certain amount of money a year and now anyone can become an Elite Member for 49.99. Doesn't matter how much you spend in their store. SCAM!

I decided to call due to a defect on the ethernet port on my 35" TV. This service is not convenient if you are not close to the store. To use their services, you have to take the merchandise to the store. For customers that are more than an hour away, not convenient. Will not purchase the geek squad plan again.
