After shopping for hours on a surround sound system I came across this yamaha and I must say I'm very happy with it. Surround sound is great feels like a theater quality. Music feels like I'm in my car with 2 12s. Best of all I can hook up all of my entertainment system to the surround sound receiver and run just one hdmi to the tv.

My first surround sound system that I've personally bought. I've experienced friends and family's systems so, at first, I was nervous about trying a different brand. This product meet all my expectations and then some. Plenty of HDMI hookups, built in radio and great Bluetooth feature for listening to music from a phone or laptop. Very easy set up and great quality sound. Would 100% recommend.

Just having purchased a new home with a media room, I searched around for a boxed home theater solution. Not wanting to spend more than $800 on a surround sound solution (speakers + receiver), I must admit that I was a bit skeptical as first based on the price. Let’s face it, what could you expect for $399? I was disappointed that it was not a full 7.1 channel system, but was guided by the helpful Best Buy sales person that this would not disappoint with 5.1 channels. As a true man with a mission, I raced home, unboxed the hardware, discarding the manuals along the way, and was up and running in less than 10mins. I was impressed by the really simple setup, and after figuring out my surround speakers were incorrectly wired, was blown away by the sound quality. Again, let's remember that this is a sub-$400 product offering 750W output! Crisp sound, with deep movie theater base, and easy navigable controls. I especially liked the fact that the receiver boasted 6 HDMI connections, so more than enough for the projector, gaming console, Amazon Fire TV.

Pros: Cost Easy set up 4 HDMI Inputs Nice variety of sound settings Overall good sound Cons: Not very loud Fair subwoofer/bass I really liked the easy set up and the number of inputs, as well as the blue tooth set up. The system has nice, clear sound, but isn't really powerful or loud, but that is fine since I live in an apartment. The bass tends to clip a bit (I calibrated it and do not have the bass level set to maximum or high). If you are looking for an overall good set up without breaking the bank, this is a great option for you.

The value included in this box is unbeatable. A 5.1 surround with true reciever (not a proprietary piece like the 150 dollar sets) and 6 good speakers. Bought separately you could only buy the reciever and one speaker for the same money. Great sound. Tons of features and options. Easy setup and auto tuning microphone. Lots of the latest technology and hookups. I recommend this as the last step up before digging deep for the really expensive audiophile quality setups.

Bought this for basement music area to replace old all in one system that was 10 years old. Positives: smaller speakers, easy set up, and blue tooth. Price was decent. Negative: my old system was louder which is why I considered returning this system. I have a 4 year old Yamaha system in living room that we really like. I almost think the 4 year old Yamaha system is better than this new one with the exception of Bluetooth that wasn't available a few years ago. We don't want to spend a whole lot of money so it will suffice. Just wish it was a bit louder without losing sound quality. Otherwise, would have given a 5.

We had a Yamaha similar to this one before. The unit went out after 10 years. We picked this one up and WOW what an improvement from the old system. The easy set up and tuning worked outstanding too.

This is a great set up to get theater like sound for under $1000. i say 1000 because that was the minimum for a build your own system at bestbuy. sure you could outsource to the internet and chance it but the Yamaha system is amazing. comes with the option to upgrade speakers because it is a real amplifier/receiver. dedicated power to sub-woofer means you get a nice deep bass when needed. over all great home theater system for under 500 dolars.

I got this to replace an all in one Panasonic unit that I simply couldn't take anymore due to its poor software and constant freezing up ( not to mention sub par sound). Anyway, I am VERY glad I chose to make the upgrade as this unit sounds AWESOME and out performs all 3 of my previous home theater systems (Panasonic, LG, Sony). My only complaint is that I live in an apartment complex and have to keep the bass and volume lower than I'd like and can't take full advantage of this systems awesomeness!

Initial set up was fairly easy. It takes a little time with tweaking things to get the sound just right but I've been very pleased with the product overall

Needed to replace a home theater in a box that had stopped functioning. This, paired with a new Sony blu-ray player did the trick. Great sound, 3d and 4k pass-through, easy setup and numerous connections with an output. Great product from yamaha!

It is best box system I've heard for the price. Good full sound. Great for a small apartment. The amp/receiver is a decent receiver with lots of connection types (hdmi, s/pdiff, AV, etc...). No proprietary connectors either.

It was fairly simple to set up, according to my husband. It only took one short lesson for him to teach me how to use the remote, which is good. The sound is great, but has taken me a little getting use to, but husband and the kids LOVE it.

This system was very easy to install and with the tuning from the microphone, it has great sound. We have all of our TV sound routed through the receiver and all of the shows sound incredibly natural and fill the room without being overpowering and directional. The Bluetooth capability for streaming music is also a great feature and we are able to use our phones from other rooms without any break in the sound. Perfect system for the price. I do recommend upgrading to 18 gauge wire for the speakers though.

This system setup with ease sound quality is great really fills the room after you adjust it to your preferences. good power Tuner and Bluetooth are great too! Would definitely recommend for any that likes it LOUD !

This product replaced a mixture of HDMI and Optical Audio switches and a low end 5.1 Audio AMP. It was great to get everything back through one device and to consolidate my setup. Great sound. Easy setup. Runs and sounds great. The HDMI to the TV passes audio back in so even using SAMSUNG sync of mobiles and tablets play through the speakers. Would recommend to anyone looking for a home/apartment setup. You may want something larger if you have a dedicated media room.

The unit is perfect for someone looking to get into surround for a game room or bedroom. The value for the product is perfect for a good sound for not a ton of money compared to the higher end components.

This unit is very easy to set up and learn the functions. Sounds great in my living room and not a monstrous sound system to trip over the components.
