This story about the relationship between Mr Rogers and a reporter is a great way to remind us to always take other approaches when we think we know people. I felt that it was engaging and it gave me a bit more of my childhood back in the Mr Rogers scenes. Got people expecting this to be a straight Mr Rogers movie, please know that the true story is more focused on the reporter with Mr Rogers showing him how to view the world a slight bit more differently.

This film really does a great service to my childhood hero Mr. Rogers. Not only does Tom Hanks put together a classic performance, but the story is told from the reporter’s perspective which I found very compelling. In these turbulent times this film restores love and hope. Mr. Rogers can touch even the most cynical hearts. “Anything that's human is mentionable, and anything that is mentionable can be more manageable.”

While I was growing up, I never had the chance to Watch Mr. Rogers Other things took precedence. This portrayal looks so much deeper into one man and the affect he had on shaping children and adults. Today's world could use a lot more people like Mr. Rogers. This movie is a look onto the true heart and soul of human kindness. It is worth watching over and over. Enjoy, better yet learn one definition of Compassion, Empathy or Kindness.

What a wonderful film. Tom Hanks must've done a lot of research on Fred Rogers's life to produce such an authentic portrayal of the man. Watching him made me feel as if I was watching the real 'Neighborhod' as I did as a child. I'm glad this movie turned out to be as good as advertised (better than, really) because any film about a person as special as Fred Rogers should be done right, and this was.

I thought this movie had so much meaning and great advice on how Mr. Rogers was trying to teach children to deal with not so fun emotions because we all will come across situations that are not fun to deal with but we have to work through it and how it is not so easy for the person that seems to have it all together has their struggles too but they learn to have outlets to help with it!

This movie is not for a person who needs a adrenaline rush. However, it is for the person who wants to gain a spiritual high. It is a wonderful film about forgiveness, and reconciliation. The acting of course was very good (Tom Hanks is a master of acting), the story was amazing, and the feeling you take away is worth paying for. Great great message and movie!

A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood, while mostly fictional regarding the events that take place in the film, still manages to embrace the love and humanity that made Mr. Rogers such a beloved icon of our time. Tom Hanks mirrors the spirit of Fred Rogers like no other could, portraying his soul in a way that will warm your heart and have you believing in the best of humanity again.

When I saw the trailer to this movie, it really made me want to watch it. This DVD/Blu-ray combo really takes me back in the days of Mister Rogers and it helped me understood the meaning of a good feeling of friends and neighbors and understanding the importance of getting together. This movie is very helpful during the tough times and I would highly recommend it!

Great movie. Tom Hanks does an excellent job of portraying Fred Rogers. The storyline moves along smoothly and intelligently. Not just a kid movie but a compelling story of Mr Rogers and his interaction with a perplexed magazine writer, the writer's family and the writer's estranged father.

I couldn't imagine another actor successfully playing this American Hero. That's exactly what Fred Rogers is, an American Hero. Everyone I know, who grew up in America, loves Mr. Rogers. While this movie isn't particularly funny, it is a beautiful retelling of the story of Fred Rogers, and his (unlikely) friendship with an investigative journalist.

I grew up watching "Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood," and have always admired Fred Rogers for all his contributions to the development and education of America's youth. While Tom Hanks didn't really resemble Fred Rogers that much, he did an excellent job of capturing his mannerisms and the the gist of his character. Kudos!

I generally don't review movies, because there's no shortage of reviews out there. But this film is touching from beginning to end without being insincere. On top of excellent writing and acting, the direction is to-notch, with surprises that really as to the weight and emotional heft.

Sweet movie about Mr Rogers and a reporter who interviewed him and learned to be more forgiving with his own dysfunctional family. Actually more about the reporter than Mr Rogers himself but excellent performances, and the usual nice DVD/Blu Ray/Digital package, some good extras deleted scenes etc.

I thought Tom Hanks portrayed Mr. Rogers excellent. I was going back to when I was growing up. The way Tom Hanks made Daniel Striped Tiger was talking to the reporter it made me realize that Mr. Rogers messages were also for adults too. I just wish I kept up with the show itself.

A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood tells the story of the real life friendship of Fred Rogers and a hardened reporter sent to interview him. The movie is so touching and heartwarming, Hanks is spectacular as Mister Rogers and the film moved me to the verge of tears multiple times.

Wonderful movie! Tom Hanks is again amazing. I love that he doesn't "imitate" Fred Rogers, but instead displays the love and humanity that made Mr. Rogers such a beloved icon. This movie really shows the impact Fred Rogers had, not just on children but on everyone around him. A wonderful story.

I didn't know much about Mr. Rogers myself my wife watched that show and it was one of her favorite shows growing up. If your like me you'll will get a really good story and learn about the man himself. Tom Hanks does a wonderful job of portraying Mr Rogers really delivers on the character.

Growing up in the 60's, I never saw Mr. Rogers; other than the skits done on him in Saturday Night Live. However, I love the movie A Beautiful Day. I can't picture anyone better in this role than Tom Hanks. Makes me wish I would have seen Mr. Rogers Neighborhood while I was growing up.

So I never saw this in the theater. I bought it because I love Tom Hanks! Omg. What a touching movie. I cried several times. And though I felt like I was 8 again - watching Mr. Rogers Neighborhood... the movie wasn't actually about Mr. Rogers. Such a good movie! Definitely a must see!
