This is a good follow-up to a Certain Magical Index. Most of the "cast" of Index makes an appearance, but, many fan favorites only have a Cameo appearance or two. Unfortunately the script, plot etc are not as compelling as many of the story arcs in Index were. This title probably won't win over any anime disbelievers. The voice over work was typical of FUNnimation, take that as you will. I can't comment on on the original Japanese track, since I'm too lazy to read my anime.

Genre: Action, Comedy, Slice of Life Length: 12 episodes "Misaka's electro-manipulation abilities - and delightfully destructive Railgun projectile move - make her a rockstar in Academy City. The techno-metropolis is packed with supernaturally powered students known as espers, including Misaka's flirty friend and roommate, Kuroko. She uses her teleportation skills as a member of the Judgment law enforcement team, fighting crime alongside her fellow agent Uiharu. Joined by their friend Saten, a spunky Level 0 esper, Misaka, Kuroko, and Uiharu have a blast taking on danger whenever and wherever it arises. Luckily, in a city full of super-powered gangs, mad scientists, and the occasional weird monster, the girls have no problem finding plenty of excitement, action, and adventure!" Part 2 of Railgun starts off where part 1 left off...sort of. Took me several weeks to actually finish this one as it dragged a bit. The plot was extremely slow to get anywhere and we were mainly introduced to the every day lives of the girls. Definitely didn't have an "action" feel. I still enjoyed the conclusion even if the plot had more holes than Wolverine's gloves. For some reason, the series wants you to know what it considers a cliff-hanger by having the ending trail into the closing theme song with an extra clip after the "Next Episode" preview. Seems kind of odd; as if they don't expect us to know that it had special meaning. :/ All-in-all, I wasn't nearly as happy with the 2nd part as the first. Hearing great stuff about season 2 which is airing in Japan at the moment, though. Hoping it'll rekindle my interest a bit.
