Love old movies This one's a favorite Recommend it to all.

This is not what I thought I was getting. I did a little research, which also changed my rating. I was feeling a bit nostalgic back in the Christmas season. I was looking for a version of A Christmas Carol that I had seen with my Grandfather when I was younger. I wasn't sure who was in it, or the year. I took a shot with a sale on this one. Bad guess. The bad: This is a condensed, semi-musical. It seemed pressed for time, so trimmed details, while having some expanded musical segments. Early on, this mid 1950's version didn't seem "right". As it played out, it was kind of like "you know the story, so we'll gloss over a few things. The "good": as I looked it up, I found that it was a "special" from the 50's, with several well-known actors (of the time). Considering the quality of the production; I'm able to cut them some slack. Since it was a celebrity special, itt was probably a rushed, lower budget affair, and they were limited on time to fit into a slot. They did take a story that people were familiar with, as well. Taken with this info, I could cut it some slack and give it a better rating than if it were just a mid-50's dud. All things considered, for the price, I am not disappointed. Yes, the quality was (understandably) bad. Yes, they breezed through parts of the story. But we had fun with it. I watched it, I shared it witb others, who had fun with it - giving it a "MST3K-like treatment". I say "I would recommend ", qualified as "know what you are getting into, and have fun with it ".

One of my all time favorites! Even though its in black and white, its one of the greats.

A very shorten version of the Christmas Carol. However, I did enjoy watching this movie.

This is probably the oldest version of The Christmas carol but worth adding to your collection.

This is a classic to be seen year, after year, after year. A holiday favorite for both old and young.

Classic A Christmas Carol in black and white version. I am a fan of every A Christmas Carol movie. I have watched nearly every version.

We love to watch this mover around the holidays, now we don't have to wait for it to air/broadcast. Great for the whole family!
