Was an so-so movie, had it’s funny parts. Not as good as the original Christmas Story. The original is an all time classic. Christmas Story 2 is a sequel to the original, so it is kinda of expected not being as good I guess. Some people might like it

I think you have to be a fan of the original movie to purchase the sequel, that said....I am a fan of the original and watch it every Holiday Season. While this movie can be fun, it lacks the depth and character of the original movie.

We have watched the original a Christmas story many times. We will probably never watch 2 again. It might have helped if some of the original actors returned.

    Shameless

Few films in life not only insult your intelligence but also your memories and love of Christmas as a child. This is sadly one of those films. "A Christmas Story 2" is quite possibly one of the most insulting pieces of cinema I have ever seen, regardless of whether or not the first film in the series is a timeless classic. This movie also seems to take pleasure in the fact that it is simply cashing in on the name of the original 1983 film. There is no attempt here to actually tell a coherent or even memorable tale about the trials and worries children go through during the Christmas season. Instead, we're treated to scene after scene of terrible slapstick humor and terrible performances. *On a side note, I know Daniel Stern (Home Alone, City Slickers) hasn't had much work in recent years, but even he should know better than to star in this.* Any fan of the original "A Christmas Story" would be advised to avoid this film at all costs. A shameless and tasteless marketing ploy, "A Christmas Story 2" will only leave you wondering why you're not watching the original film again.

A fitting Sequel to a timeless classic

First off, put the naysayers and nit-picky negative reviews aside here. This is pure escapism, and it unashamedly presents itself as such. The cover is a huge clue as to the content of the movie. I absolutely love the storyline of Ralphie coming of age with all of the characters we have come to love over the years. What teenager hasn't wanted a car to impress a girl? This movie was shown to my entire extended family and they absolutely loved it. This is a clean, wholesome movie that is rare in this day and age. Predictable but fun, it clearly shows a father that loves his son and a clear vision of a kindlier, gentler time in our nation's history back in Northern Indiana. For those who follow the series, there is also the "Summer Story".

I gave this a movie a chance because I loved the original. In fact I watch the first Christmas Story every year on Christmas Day. Unfortunately, I have nothing good to say about this movie. The plot was predictable. The actors weren't great. It really was a bad idea to make a second one. Not the worst movie ever made but definitely not worth actually buying a copy. It looked like a renter and I should have done just that: rented it.

Not a great movie but my 8 year old son enjoyed it. He was the reason I bought it as he loved the first one.

Funnier, more original, & sweeter than apple pie, ice cream, & bananas combined!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Also starring Daniel Stern as daddy!!
