Both movies were very entertaining................

A classic Christmas movie! We watch it every year…

Of all the Christmas movies, this is one of them. The actors acted their parts. The cinematography visualy portrayed the story. The narrator narrated the narration to tell the story’s narrative. The musical score is audible, as are the voices of the actors and narrator. The theme of the movie is Christmas, as the title suggests. This movie is free to watch on TV every year and will play dozens of times during the Christmas season, but this year I bought the copy of the movie so I’ll pay to watch it instead. I’ve seen this movie dozens of times throughout my robust life. If you haven’t seen this movie, you haven’t seen this movie. Highly recommended by me, a guy who has seen this movie.

This is one of the best Christmas movies ever made.

A classic with classic performances: Darren McGavin as the grumpy old father; Melinda Dillon as the worrying mother; Peter Billingsley as a questor after a holy grail (the Red Ryder Carbine Action 200-shot Range Model air rifle); Scott Schwartz as Flick, the bully with the yellow eyes. The performances are mish-mashed with hilarious events like sticking a tongue on a frozen light pole, sitting on Santa's lap, and writing a school composition (among others).

A instant classic! Relatable, endearing, joyful holiday fun. Everyone can relate to Ralphie and that burning desire for the one intangible gift of all gifts. So many fun elements I love this movie. And your family will too.

My second-favorite Xmas movie absolutely NAILS the feeling of being a kid at Christmas trying to get that ONE PERFECT GIFT, accept no substitutes. Having a younger sibling who only exists to annoy you; having parents who JUST DON'T GET IT; dealing with bullies day in, day out; watching your friends dare each other to do stupid things just because...so familiar. I didn't grow up back in the thirties or the forties, but this movie is timeless that way. And on another note, it amazes me that this movie is directed by the same guy who directed both Porky's and Black Christmas. That's some kind of range!

Classic movie with some great lines and scenes. The sound quality of this production was not the best. Overall, very good.

In the 1940's, in the town of Hammond, 9-year-old Ralphie wants one thing for Christmas -- an official Red Ryder BB rifle. When he asks his mother for the BB gun for Christmas, she says, "No, you'll shoot your eye out". When he writes an essay about it at school his teacher gives him a C+ with a note saying "You'll shoot your eye out." Next he asks Santa for the gun, Santa's response is familiar, he says, "You'll shoot your eye out, kid." Ralph fears that he'll never get the BB gun for Christmas. But there may be a surprise in store for him.

A true Christmas classic That had to be added to you my collection so the family can enjoy every holiday

I think this is one of the most enduring Christmas comedy films. I grew up with it (along with the ultra creepy CHRISTMAS CAROL starring George C. Scott), though, so I'm pleased as holiday punch to grow into all the humor of this masterpiece. The original Jean Shepherd story is perfect, & Bob Clark gives the screen treatment everything it deserves. Also, for those horror nerds out there, it's awesome to see where Clark (RIP) ended up after starting his career with grisly goodies like BLACK CHRISTMAS & DEATHDREAM. The added digital copy makes this a perfect buy.

This is the classic must have for the holiday season. A cute little story of a little boy's wish for a toy rifle (Red Rider BB gun) for Christmas. He leaves hints for his parents and even day dreams of the games he will play with his toy rifle. Every grown up insists that he'll "shoot your eye out" but poor little Ralphie doesn't give up. the characters are full of personality and I am sure there is at least one person in the movie that we can all relate to. A Christmas Story is hilarius and very family friendly. The plot is sure to entertain the whole family.

All Ralphie wanted for Christmas was a genuine Red Ryder 200-shot Carbine Action Air Rifle. This DVD brought me on an unexpected trip down memory lane. When I too was a young Ralphie, many Christmases ago, I actually owned a similar BB Gun, the joy of my youth. Wow, could I identify with poor Ralphie and his experiences in growing up. I have this movie on VHS and did not hesitate picking it up on DVD at Best Buy's great price. Hey, Mom. . .Look, I still have both my eyes(as well as my Red Ryder BB Gun).

Loved this as a teenager and even now as a 50 year old! I purchased to show it in Spanish to my wife. I worried after 15 minutes that she just wasn’t getting the film. Luckily she started laughing at a part where the mother tries to convince the youngest to eat his food. After that, she laughed and laughed to the end of the FLICK! I was happy to see it stood the test of time AND CULTURE(she’s Salvadoran). She loved FLICK, Ralphie’s friend, the most!

Loving this PC. it is everything i wanted plus room to expand later if i choose too.

saw this in the bargain bin and since i loved it as a kid i figured why not.

This is one of the best movies ever made.. Its on Each year for Christmas day and night.. and i always wanted to play the movie For a Full month of Dec and not just on Christmas Day.. SO I knew i had to buy this ... The Delux package makes it so much more worth it.. feels like your holding something that will be worth Something one day... ok Maybe not.. but still it looks Great.. the only thing that isn't So Great is the Sound Track doesn't sound the best in 5.1 but still Digital So thats Good

What a great movie! I bought this movie just to leave at our vacation home so that the grandkids would have something to watch and with which we could trust to leave them alone to watch. I guess I am at the age that I remember Christmases like the one in this movie, boy, things sure have changed. I hope our grandkids will watch it and realize just how good they have it. Beyond that, the acting is superb and the story line of one boys pursuit of a red ryder BB gun for Christmas is hilarious.
