Have owned this on VHS and standard DVD, so a third copy didn’t seem overly necessary, but . . . when Best Buy put it on a great sale, I figured why the heck not. It’s a fun flick to watch at any time of the year, and I did so the evening of purchase. Although probably little/no real difference in disc version quality, it did seem so. Glad to now have this upgrade, and gave the other one to a co-worker. Easy to recommend to others. Fa Ra Ra Ra Ra!!!

Great to have the blu-ray version with extra features of one of the most unique Christmas movies ever made. Another well done SteelBook by BestBuy with great artwork. This movie is a classic due to it's story of what Christmas was like before television and computers but without being too outdated. The fact that the movie has a narrator that is the main character grown up, makes it all the better and why it is unique.

There isn’t anything new I can say. Watch it and enjoy the holiday spirit

As a lifelong fan of this movie, who remembers the initial VHS release in the '80s, I am confident that this is the singular best available version of this Christmas comedy classic. The picture quality is great and the supplements are good. I especially like the short documentary about the Christmas Story House in Cleveland - a place I was able to visit last year. Would I love to see more bonus features, of course, but this is the best option for now.

I liked the movie. It was not a great movie but it was charming.

My family and I quote this movie throughout the year. I remember seeing it in the theater and now my kids have embraced it as one of their favorites. I've resisted buying this on DVD for years since it was broadcast on TBS every Christmas and it was rarely on sale or discounted. This past Christmas I saw it in Best Buy for $7.99 which was low enough for me to take the plunge. I didn't feel the need to get the bonus discs or extras -- the original is all you need!

Who would have thought I'd live long enough to see a movie premiere, and then morph into a Christmas classic in the matter of a few years? Glad to put this in my stack of DVD's that come out of storage on Dec 1 every year.

My son remembered watching this movie during his younger years.

A classic Christmas film about a boy who dreams of getting a Red Ryder BB Gun. It takes place in the late 30's, early 1940 in the suburbs. It closely follows a family through various misfortunes and highs. The cast of characters alone will be memorable to watch. The narration throughout will be a lasting thought.

This movie is great and brings back fond memories for my whole family . We watched it 24 hours when my kids were young . These same kids are now adults and have kids of their own now . Watch it with your kids it’ll give you beautiful memories when you are all older .

This is THE release to get currently. The only release with lossless DTS-HD and also the only release to include the 21 minute extra about the “Christmas Story” house. Steelbook is pretty nice too. Until released in UHD, this will be the best we see.

Its Either It’s a Wonderful Life Or This One “ Christmas Story. I Have To See it At Least 5 Times During The Christmas Season. Know All of The Words... “ The Scott Farcas Affair “ And “ I Can’t Put My Arms Down”. When The World was A Better Place, and Family Values where Common. Great Cast of Characters and Ralphie Killed it. Definitely 5 Star-Movie, Possibly The Best Christmas Movie of All-Time.

Fun for the whole family. A great Christmas classic

A classic and warm story about the time you asked for something but everyone told you why you couldn't or shouldn't have it so you gave up on life and lived in the alley ways because not even disney magic could save you. This will revive hope and instill hot cocoa by the fireplace warmth to your heart.

Bought so my kids can watch every Christmas season

This is THE Christmas movie. No other Christmas movie can hold up to this timeless classic. Packaging for the discs is visually appealing and sturdy. Picture quality and audio is great. Sure, you could watch this movie for free on TV when it airs for 24hrs straight with commercials and possibly edits, but why do that when you can own the full movie along with all the extra features for such a low price.

Excellent must-have Christmas movie for your holiday collection. Full of nostalgia and never gets old. Really helps get you in the Christmas spirit and it's nice to be able to watch it anytime you want instead of having to wait for it to come on television. Can't beat the price either.
