Beautifully performed by four consummate actors, this emotional drama goes straight to the heart, The painful reality of human frailty, unbridled ego and bridling a relationship that would only destroy longtime friendships are all keenly presented in examining the autonomy that binds a longtime successful string quartet, as these friends and musicians at the top of their form must face the reality that one of them is now suffering from Parkinson's Disease. A wonderful heart breaker and triumph of love, trust and the strength of lasting friendship contribute to the survival and reality of carrying on, even though the quartet has had to change players.

Being a Philip Seymour Hoffman fan, I loved it. Even if I wasn't I would still like it quite a bit. Don't let the subject matter fool you, it's not as boring as many think it is. It has enough dramatic plot lines and surprises to get you hooked. RIP Philip
