I brought this movie because of the price and because it was supposed to be a gangster movie. you do not get a gangster movie and the action their was none all pretend of a gangster movie with action don't buy It and don't rent it bad movie

I thought this was going to be one those exciting movies filled with action, violence, and protagonist getting even with the wrong done. But it turned out to be a whimpy character living in a year of violence happening to him.

I was very disappointed in the film. I typically love movies that deal with the "mob" but this one lacked energy and excitement. I purchased this DVD based on great critic reviews. I guess that you can't rely on that.

As a fan of both crime-genre movies and Oscar Isaac and Jessica Chastain, I was very happy to buy this movie, previously unseen. Watching the movie, on the other hand, was crushingly disappointing. The movie starts slow, and though I kept waiting for it to pick up, it remained slow, boring, and formulaic the entire way through. I don't necessarily think that the acting was bad, but the story and writing were TERRIBLE. Save yourself the two hours of your life that you will not get back after watching this entirely awful waste of time.
