2012 - Another Year for Armin

I think 2012 represents one of final years before he began to transition his style of Trance into what it is now. I know plenty of folks still enjoy ASOT albums to this day, but there are also a great number of older fans who are highly disappointing (even disgusted, depending on how invested they were in trance) in his recent works. This album has a lot of vocal tracks, which I personally could do without. CD 1 starts with probably the worst intro track I've ever heard on an ASOT album, but picks itself up over time with tunes like Alexander Popov - When The Sun (Eximinds Remix) and Mike Foyle & ReFeel - Universal Language. I like CD 2 a bit more. It starts on a better note and contains some stellar tracks like Andrew Rayel - 550 Senta (Aether Mix), Ralphie B - Icarus, and Gareth Emery Feat. Christina Novelli - Concrete Angel (John O'Callaghan Remix). Ovearll, this isn't my personal favorite when it comes to ASOT albums (that would go to 2006 or 2014), but it still offers enough good tunes to make it worth a purchase.

A State of Trance 2012 by Armin Van Buuren is a two cd set of 32 songs. The first disc set is titled On The Beach and has fifteen songs ranging from meaningful songs such as Try To Be Love by Sunlounger & Zara Taylor (Roger Shah Naughty Love Mix)and the jovial Suddenly Summer by Armin Van Buuren feat. Ana Criado. The second disc titled in the club has 17 songs ranging from Armin Van Buuren’s collaboration with Gaia and 550 Senta (Aether Mix) by Andrew Rayel. A good selection for those looking for a hybrid of playful and worthwhile trance songs.

It has been years since I've listened to techno, but it is easy to get lost on time listening to all of Van Buren's mixes, old and new :) great addition to my collection!
