This is a solid romantic film, excellent for a date night (especially if both parties are Dr. Who fans or liked similar movies such as "Happy Accidents"). It's also (surprisingly) not a bad father-son film (again, if the Dr. Who - or Rachel McAdams - fan part holds true for both). The lead couple are charming and awkward, as is typical in Richard Curtis films. Bill Nighy is excellent in his fatherly role, and Tom Hollander plays an excellent curmudgeon with an understated soft side. There are also beautiful scenes of the Cornish countryside (atypically sunny - but one very funny rainy scene). There are some excellent examples of tough choices and strong moral values. It is important to keep in mind that the time traveling aspect is a plot device and not overthink it.

This movie goes up there with "The Notebook", "The time travelers wife", and "Labor day". I am sure that some more can be named along the lines of this genre. Rachel M. Plays a good part in the movie. She is convincingly in love with every man she acts with. The movie is a tear jerker as I would turn to see my wife crying and smiling. Sometimes just crying. Just about every woman has seen "The Notebook" and or us men have heard about it at some point since this movie has come out. If you are trying to score some brownie points this is one of the movie to see with your loved one. Great story line. Easy to follow and understand, but not enough to figure out the whole plot in the first 15 minutes.

A delightful surprise we enjoyed so thoroughly we later bought it in Blu Ray and have viewed it 3 times. Kinda like a romantic/coming of age, comedic twist of Groundhog Day meets Dr Who in that the main male character can use a modest form of time travel to do minor edits of social situations gone awry. Filmed on location in Cornwall and London England. Poignant, funny, quirky yet warm. The madcap 4 minute crossing Abbey Road on the way to the hospital for a delivery deleted scene/outtake is worth the price of the movie. Can't recommend it enough for those who love the romantic comedy genre. Great actors, too!

For some reason this movie didn't make as big of a splash you would have thought. There's some great actors in it, and it is a clever story that I found very engaging. Who wouldn't want to be able to travel back in time?! And the premise could have had the main character traveling back in time for greedy or bizarre reasons, but instead he ends up being very down-to-earth and lives a fairly "normal" life in the sense that he gets married and has children. Great movie!

This is not just a chick flick. Everyone should see this film. Its characters are memorable and easy to root for and the plot itself was original, funny, sweet and tear-inducing. It begs the question of what would you change if you could do something over again, but without the "butterfly effect." No horror here. Just tender bittersweet relationships of a regular guy who's men in the family can time travel. But there are drawbacks. You have to see this movie. Highly highly recommend it.

My wife loves romantic comedies, and I generally half-watch them while doing other things due to the lack of originality and true comedy that the genre generates. About Time happens to be one of the best romantic comedies that I've seen in years, and I'd recommend it for all sorts of tastes. The movie is funny, clever, and a bit original in the way it navigates the relationship of the protagonist. This movie delivers a great combination of laughs and drama.

I love this film. No really, really love it. EVERYONE should see this film! An amazing message, fun and quirky characters living life with wit, heartbreak, and revelation. YES, this is a bit of a tear-jearker, but hubby loved it despite that ( it got him too) and was SUPER glad he saw it ....and he's very different from me!!! LOTS of humor as well. A true tale of life as a human in a mixed-up world.....with a twist!!!

I rented this movie because there was nothing else, I like Rachel McAdams but thought it was probably a chick flick. In fact while it is a love story of sorts, it has some other stories going on all in one and is really wonderful and makes you want to appreciate the people you love while they are here. Really well done. Therefore, I bought it!

A very cute movie involving time travel, family bonds and finding "the one." It has a nice overall message about enjoying your life and not getting bogged down in the little details that could be different/better. There's also some really emotional scenes about loss and letting go of the past to live for the present. Overall a very sweet romantic comedy with heart that doesn't botch the time travel aspect (like so many do).

This is a good movie. I can't say it's my favorite time travel film, and the chemistry between the lead actors is a bit tough to get past at the start. That said, the film progresses nicely and the overall tone is quite thoughtful. Ultimately, it's the message that the film conveys that is the hook. Definitely worth a watch.

Although Rachel McAdams seems to fall a little to easily for time travelers, this movie does a good job of investing you into the main characters. Where it fails is the secondary characters, many of whom play an important role, but we are never given much of a reason to care about them or to expect important things from them. Beyond that, the movie is fun to watch, and the legendary Bill Nighy, as always, is a pleasure to watch.

I watched with my wife without knowing anything about it. no plot summary, etc. we rented because we both enjoyed Love Actually, and being that it is from the same creators we thought we would try it. What a great surprise. We ended up buying it and have watching it again a few times already. I suggest not reading anything about it and just watch it. great story, good humor, and unique.

This movie was created by Richard Curtis. If you enjoyed Notting Hill, Four Weddings and a Funeral, and Love Actually you will love this wonderful comment of the human existence. Going into the plot would destroy the experience of watching this movie. It is a feel good movie that is equally well liked by men and women.

This is simply a sweet, funny movie that really made me happy. It has all the "love of life" that Love Actually has, and a totally unique story line. Even though the main plot device is an unreal fantasy, the writing and performances bring such real, human issues into the story that anyone can relate to those elements. Just a wonderful movie

This movie was a surprise for me after watching it. I thought it was going to fall in line with Ground Hog's Day or The Time Traveler's Wife. There are some minor similarities but the storyline is more than the love between the two characters. Without spoiling the movie it is more about bonding between loved ones.

If you liked Love Actually or Notting Hill, you will like this movie (all three directed by Richard Curtis). An interesting premise, along with main characters with great chemistry, keep you engaged and interested throughout the movie. Buy the DVD because it is a movie I think you will want to watch more than once.
