I have never read a book, so I bought this movie not expecting too much and was pleasantly surprised. Movie isn't great and definitely you won't be talking about if for years to come, but for what it's trying to achieve it nails. Lincoln as vampire hunter trained in handling axe to do battle with night creatures, might just be the coolest idea since vampires went all vegan on us;-) Movie has some amazing set pieces and the battle in the horde of running horses will remain in my memory for a long time. You may wonder why I gave it 4 stars, but again, if you do like vampires and a bit on the graphic side sort of movies, you won't be disappointed. You might never watch this again, but you could do a lot worse when it comes to vampire movies...

This is always a movie I can watch more than once. Funny, great acting, and really no complaints.

This movie was just excellent.I love how it was mixed with American History and fictional vampire lore.

As someone who really doesn't care for vampire movies, I gave this movie a chance because of a memorable movie trailer and civil war period setting. I loved how this fictional tale is spun around much of Lincoln's early tragic childhood memories, to his adult courtship of Mary Todd and eventual ascent to the presidency where the fight to defeat the spread of vampires into the northern states becomes as important to him personally as are the issues of preserving the union and ending slavery. The story moves along very quickly without overdoing the vampire thing and should keep both fans of the genre plus period movie fans very pleased with the great cinematography and terrific ensemble cast. As a bonus, the blue ray set also is in 3D!

really wish they still make 3D TVs today but I guess the upgrade to OLED is worth it

This historical action movie was fun and had its corniness at times. Still fun to watch

Goes to show that any premise can be entertaining if done right. Cool movie overall.

My son enjoyed this movie. Not too scary for his age. Different twist on older movie.

Great movie awesome effects taken back into the slave era infested with vampires..

Considering the Genre(horror), this movie had a great plot. In my opinion most movies in this genre are cheesy and not at all believable. I thoroughly enjoyed this movie, although a few moments throughout the film were a little sketchy on the historical truth. I did enjoy the use of a prominent, historical figure as a vampire hunter. The movie storyline was great and kept me on the edge of my seat. If you like movies involving super human feats, action and fight scenes galore, involving vampires without all the love scenes, then you will love this one.

I remember seeing the movie poster at the theater when it was first being advertised and loved it (it definitely caught your attention), but I said to myself... Abraham Lincoln... a vampire killer? Oh Gawd. So I passed. How wrong I was. It came on a movie cable station and in the middle of watching I knew it was quickly going to be purchased and added to my movie collection. The premise is refreshingly unique. The actor playing President Lincoln is perfect! The acting is excellent all-around. The plot in interesting and works! The cinematography is slick and very well done. I truly enjoy this film and have watched it a few times since.

Great comedy horror with a serious tone. Not a history lesson but great fun.
