Solid build, beautiful design
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you don't need a convertible 2 in 1 this is by far the best deal for a touch screen Chromebook that also has the Google Playstore built in from the factory. Beautiful 1080p very large touch screen, perfect for web browsing and movie watching. Nice touch with the illuminated keyboard and all around sleek aluminum shell. The only feature I miss is a standard HDMI port, though the standard USB-C ports can be used with a different cable.

Acer Chromebook 15 ... CB515-1HT
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very similar to my Dell Latitude 3570 laptop in size (lighter in weight and thinner), but is WiFi without IEEE cable connection port. Excellent device for surfing internet, handling email (reading and writing), preparing simple word-processing documents and spreadsheets, can do pwrpt-like presentations (not familiar PowerPoint). This touchscreen model has excellent 1080 FHD display. Close the lid and it goes to sleep -- open it to resume from where you stopped. Has telecommunication ability and very thorough tutorials (voice guidance option). Quickly connects to Google Play Store for downloading apps. Supports multiple users with separate zones similar to a Windows laptop. No separate security program required -- runs aps like a smartphone -- Chrome OS manages security. It could replace one of my laptops for viewing financial sites for equity data. Printing is somewhat complicated via WiFi and the cloud -- can keep data files on thumb drive and print via file transfer to another computer that talks directly to a windows base printer. *** This CB is powered by a Pentium 4 chip and has USB-C (power/data), USB 3.0, and Micro SD card connection slots. *** Christmas gift for my 96yo Mother with limited computer skills -- I set it up and added Netgear 600 WNDR3400v3 router in front of ATT DSL modem. Didn't follow guidance correctly and wasn't able to connect the router on first attempts -- stumbled into switch setting on Chromebook that allowed completion of WiFi connection.

Best Chromebook buy!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am writing this review on the Acer Chromebook I purchased as a gift for my wife. She absolutely loves the big, high quality screen, speedy start up and close, ability to run thousands of applications, back lit keyboard, and everything else. Slightly more expensive than many 11" Chromebooks, but the improved usability and performance more than justifies additional money.

Excellent Performance for a great price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was initially skeptical of the Acer Chromebook 15. I'd been a Windows/Mac guy my whole life and wanted to get a gift for my non-technically inclined mother. I was between an iPad and Chromebooks (now that they support Android apps). The reviews for this device were pretty good, none denied this was a mid-range device but most praised it for its quality feel and good performance. I decided to get it and have been blown away by how much my mother loves it (she was struggling with Windows 10 before). I think the mild familiarity with Android and touchscreen make it easier for her to navigate. The battery live is great, performance hasn't stuttered at all, the 1080p screen is an excellent touch. I'll probably buy one of these for myself when I am back in the market for a new laptop.

Good for casual web browsing
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nice large 15 inch screen, backlit keyboard. Upward facing speakers better than expected for built in case. 8 plus hours of battery life. Works well for web browsing, email, online banking. Why 4 stars? Could have used faster processor than n4200. Good for basic web usage.

Alot for the money !
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First of all - its fast. Turn it on and its ready to go! There's no waiting for systems to boot up. Con: Out of the box it comes with nothing! You have to figure things out by trial and error but its very user friendly. This is my first Chrome. Its good for someone continually surrounded by wifi, ie on campus student. It seems to me like a giant cell phone, as it required apps for everything. If you don't mind having to get apps, even for Microsoft Word, then you'll likely be fine. Its very slim, attractive and don't forget the touchscreen. Another plus is that you don't have to buy any coverage like Norton or McAfee, as Google covers it. This is an excellent machine. Runs like a dream.

Great Chromebook for Everyday Tasks
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. At a price of $299 w/ a free Google Home, this was a great deal! I checked the Chromebook specs beforehand, watched reviews on YouTube, and looked at Acer's website. This has a touchscreen, back-lit keyboard, 1080p full HD screen, 802.11 ac Wi-Fi, dual speakers, and USB-C. These are all the features you would expect for a higher price. The keyboard feels similar to a Macbook Pro and the touchpad is responsive. The touchscreen needs some work but I hardly ever touch my screen because of fingerprints. Overall, this is a great computer for a user who does almost everything on a Chrome browser.

Very good big chromebook
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This has a nice sharp big screen, great speakers and a comfortable backlit screen. What more could you want at a very reasonable price. The only thing that would make it better for me is a brighter screen but it is bright enough in almost all situations.

♫ Have web will travel reads the status of a man
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My job is 100% remote access. This Chromebook is the most efficient device allowing me to roam. The weight is unnoticeable, the screen is large, and the battery outlasts my workday. When necessary, USB C charging is terrific. The processor and memory are probably a bit overkill, but learned early in the PC days that today's 'good enough' is tomorrow's 'not enough'. If I have to nitpick, I do miss a proper numeric keypad.

Love it!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this on good sale and do not regret it for one bit. If you need to utilize PC software this isn't for you but if you're looking for a device to watch Netflix, YouTube maybe listen to music on Spotify browse the web or even type up some papers for school this is for you. Long lasting battery, zippy fast on wifi and great display with touch screen. Great for traveling and highly recommend!

Good for paying bills & social media
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love the big screen & the touch option. I love that it's compatible with my S8. The only thing that I don't like is, there's no CD drive compatible to burn my pictures.

Backlight bleed, otherwise nice laptop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Everything about this Chromebook is good enough, except the screen. Lots of backlight bleed on first one I bought, so I exchanged it to find the second was just as bad. It's a shame because everything else about this is better than you would expect from a $300 computer, and the screen is even pretty good until you try to watch a movie on it at night. Then you see a really uneven, cloudy backlight, and light leaking around the edges of the screen.

awesome
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My 3rd acer chromebook is fantastic. Love the lighted keyboard, large screen and very good sound. A bit on the heavy side, but it's the trade-off for size and it's still lighter than most windows laptops I've owned.Has a long battery life and a usb charger, unlike the plug style for my other chromebooks. Sharp looking.
