This laptop replaces the netbook and is much powerful than any netbook. Wish it had a slightly smaller footprint though.

The screen is a little small, but I was aware of that. This laptop is good for light usage, but not too much

Works well for me when I take it on trips around the country. Light weight and fits in my small carry-on.

I'm a college student with an ipad. I needed a simple laptop just for writing papers, I wasn't interested in spending a lot of money. When I first got this computer it was very slow, I tried to be patient considering the price I paid for it, I knew I shouldn't expect a lot. As time went on it got worse. Some days it would work slowly and other days it would freeze after 5 minutes of use. However, anytime I tried using word it would freeze while I was trying to write my papers, the mouse would become unusable. I would only be able to use the arrows on the keyboard, no highlighting, saving ect. Today I took it into GS and they offered to help me for no fee. After the factory reset it still didn't work so I will need to take it back so they can ship it. GS informed me that it will never be a fast PC but I just need it to not freeze during every use. I'm now looking into spending a little more to get a better PC which I should have done in the first place. I only wish I had the extra $200 (on sale) I had spent on it to use to purchase a better computer.

I purchased this in late February 2015, after my 15 days are up the computer will not recognize my DVD/CD, take it to the GS and they tell me that they have to send it off, took about a week, well it turns out that my optical lens was bad...I pick up unit and plugged it in the next day, worked for about 7 hrs, but now it is slow as sloth with a load of bricks on its back, all of a sudden it tells me that its scanning to repair drive (c) huh, wth is this!!!!..well now it will not come on at all...Going back to the GS TODAY!!!!! Do not buy, this product is BAD and this is not the first Acer that I have had problems with, Monitors, video cards, sound cards and a Tablet (A500) I ask myself why do I keep punishing myself with buying ACER!!! Just why???
