I bought an hp with the same specs and it had a backlit keyboard for 425 and waited 30 days to get it from the hp site. NEVER AGAIN! 2 days after i finally got it i saw this beauty at bestbuy.com. $100 less and white. I went into the store and ordered it there and in 3 days it was mine. Works great. Clear screen and the color is great. I shop alot online so color accuracy is important. Only think is the power button is on the keyboard. Not used to that. And i wish the power cord insert was more modern the little circle insert can break when not careful. But thats typical of all laptops.

Amazing computer for the price. Bought it for my son, he uses it daily. Is great for homework and gaming...

This laptop was purchased for a granddaughter for HS graduation. It will meet all of her needs when she starts college in the fall as well as her social needs now.

Awesome computer with style! Very fast but would like the wrist edges to be more round for comfort.

This computer had an excellent rating and it so far has not disappointed. I transitioned from Windows 8 to 10 with no problem. The keyboard works great which was my biggest complaint with my previous laptop. I would recommend this brand to my friends. My first time with an ACER but probably not my last.

My review (which has disappeared) was the first up here when I bought this, my fourth Acer (two of them disappointed me), and since I had to create a new account probably won't show up as a verified purchase although I ordered it from Best Buy. Anyhow, I use it only for writing (I'm a composition teacher and writer) and it works well with Dragon, Word, and WordPerfect. The mousepad is wonderful and although I typically don't like touch-typing on a flat surface, this model is just fine. All-in-all, a great purchase and not just for high school and college students (oh, and don't forget the "good beginner's model" reviewers). I bought my first computer in 1982 and this laptop hasn't let me down.

I bought this computer initially for light use such as some word processing and online shopping/bill pay last August. Between August and today, it worked well for the money--processing and startup was a little slow, but it had no major issues. Last month, I transitioned to working from home and it became my primary machine (word processing and Internet use). It was fine for about two weeks until this morning, the screen went wonky, reproducing a jiggly version of the top half of the display in the bottom half of the screen. Long story short, the motherboard died and Geeksquad is likely going to junk it out, leaving me computerless less than a year after purchase. You get what you pay for, folks. If you need a reliable machine that will last longer than a year, this isn't it.
