This computer is a really good choice for an inexpensive laptop. When I bought it, I wasn't expecting it to be nearly this fast. It comes with so much that other comparably priced laptops don't these days. It has a number pad, a cd/dvd burner, 500 GB hard drive, long lasting battery and windows 10. It also comes with a bunch of programs that slow it down but once I uninstalled them it runs fast and smooth. I can't recommend it for games as I outgrew those time-eaters years ago but I have run audio editing software and it has plenty of processing power for them as well as any other programs that I have run including multiple at the same time. I am not crazy about the touchy mousepad however but after I adjusted it, I am getting used to it. For everyday use, this is a really nice laptop.

Not a good deal , Slow to be blunt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I bought this computer to use with my kids and to use for some minor at home work. Its perfect for what we need it for. I love the new Windows 10 as opposed to Windows 8. In fact once my husband saw that I had 10 he upgraded his 8 to 10 and is much happier. I am happy to say that it doesn't appear that this computer was preloaded with too much junk. Overall I am super happy with my purchase. It was a great price for what we needed it for.

It was a piece of crap. Had I know it was just an advertisement for another product I never would have bought it.

Was a little hesitant to buy at first, after reading the reviews and what I thought is to give a try in this laptop. It's fast and very good for the price. Love it so far!

I read the reviews for this laptop and I am glad I bought it, its so nice and fast, and CHEAP.....it comes with windows 10 installed....am loving it....I will recommend this laptop to friends

I purchased this 9/7/15 and it was delivered 9/15/2015. I have not used it much because I was able to correct the problem with my 8 year old Toshiba this was meant to replace.. thank god, I love that machine. I just started using this on a regular basis to get it up to speed incase the Toshiba fails again. What a nightmare. I'm not sure if I received a bad machine but this is BRUTAL!! This is really slow and cant handle more than a couple chrome windows at a time even if just looking at email or web sites without much video content/advertisement. Another thing to consider is this comes with Windows 10. Windows 10 is app driven. This will not run HULU at all and Netflix keeps stopping and starting sometimes every 10 or 15 seconds even if I'm not on full screen. I have not been able to play anything on Netflix or Youtube for more than 45 seconds without buffering.. buffering.. remember that?? I thought those days were gone!!! If you have a chrome window running in the background, video might or might not play at all.My internet connection is always around 35MB download and 30MB upload with a 28ms ping. (Verizon employee in a Verizon building) and STILL this is the worst I've seen in many years of computers. I'm hoping to get some satisfaction out of Best Buy due to my not using it for a while after purchase. I hate to think I'm going to be stuck with this 250.00 dvd player.. that's about all it is at this point.. buyer beware!! if anyone can constructively explain what might be happening I am happily open to suggestions. buyer beware!!

I bought this computer to replace a (Wallyworld)Compaq 2gb 500gb computer that had issues from the first time we got it 2 years ago. It had windows 7 and I wasn't getting them a windows 8 computer because I wanted them to be able to use the computer not get frustrated with it. Windows10 is as Awesome as windows7, It is very user friendly (finally) and it is easier for them and me to learn. This computer is a little more light weigh in lbs then we have ever owned and thinner. I like that it has a dvd/cd player and the side numeric keys that was very important. Seems a little slow when you hit the start button, opening apps so far is quick enough for my 10 & 13yr olds to not get frustrated. I took out some of the pre-installed garbage apps that usually come with most computers. I also like that it comes with a tutorial app that helps you learn how to use windows 10 if you don't know already.I couldn't beat the price tag for a Win10 computer for my kids to do their school work on.

This is my first laptop purchase. I intend to use it for online learning. So far, so good. The only thing I wish is that it had a touchscreen. I bought this knowing that it didn't but here we are in 2015 so I automatically reach to the screen to select something but darnit, this is not a touchscreen! My kids who are 6 and 4, do the same thing so I know this is not because I'm old ;-) that I keep forgetting it's not a touchscreen. Talk about a sign of the times, but I digress. The only reason I bought this one and not a laptop with touchscreen is because this has everything else I was looking for and there were great reviews. Good laptop. No problems with lagging programs and internet pages yet. Great battery life.

I had this laptop for exactly one month; the only issue I had was the battery would not charge when the laptop was plugged into the outlet. I was about to return it to Best Buy but the issued resolved itself. Note: I pull the plug out of the outlet when I am not using the computer and the battery is fully charged. For $249 you can't beat it. The speed is okay, it is faster if you use Microsoft Edge browser. The other two browsers “Internet Explorer and Mozillia Firefox have a little lag, but once the webpage loads it works fine. If you have little patience I would suggest you use the Microsoft Edge browser. I took a reviewer’s advice and did not load any Acer applications, such as Cortana. The reviewer stated Acer apps issues a lot of bloat ware that causes slow response time in you laptop. My pros and cons of this laptop are listed below: Pros: Nice keyboard, it is very responsive. The keys are large, perfect for big fingers. It has a DVD/CD player that plays very good. You can adjust the sound when playing CDs (I.e jazz, rock, pop etc) The picture and sound on a DVD are awesome. It has Bluetooth connections; I use it to connect with my cell phone and speaker. Microsoft Edge browser is very fast; it has a feature that you can edit an article such as drawing a circle around the material. It also gives you current events, sports, etc. The battery lasts a long time The screen is a nice size; it not as big as my HP 17 inch screen but for $249 you can’t beat it. The computer is very quiet. Cons: The battery is not detachable Internet Explorer and Mozillia Firefox browsers have a little lag. I would recommend a family member or friend to purchase this laptop.

I purchased this laptop strictly for home use, internet, emails and documents, I didn't realize how much of a Gem I received. It's fast and simple and to purchase at 199.00 was a steal.

Its overall a pretty solid computer. I don't use it for gaming or anything just every day internet surfing. Its honestly got a super slow processor, probably one of the slowest I've ever seen in years. Cant even multitask with two tabs open without freezing up. And the touch pads scroll function is just terrible. Not sensitive enough and doesn't scroll nicely at all. I just use the arrow keys. Other then those 2 things its an excellent computer. Love the operating system and design, videos play great etc.

It's fast enough for me roaming the net and what few games I play, cod 1,2 tomb raider an a few other oldies.Has a great feel / picture,all around a solid laptop I knew when I bought it I wouldn't be using windows 10 so I wiped it clean (killed warranty I suppose) altho it can be put back on from a dvd.

Works amazing and good size and fast good GB for hard drive and memory good resolution

This product was delivered at 2 pm yesterday and was returned at 10 am today. Would have returned it sooner, except that it took about 12 hours to erase the disc and return it to factory settings--even though the only things saved into it was my name and email. Joys of a PC I suppose. I purchased this product so that I would have a "cheapy" computer to use for cruising the internet and watching videos rather than over-heating my Macbook Pro which is my work computer. Well, I certainly got the "cheapy" part right. After re-booting a few times to make sure that all programs and updates were installed and nothing else was running in the background, this laptop still took more than fifteen minutes to open up my email account and attempt (not succeed, mind you) to send an email. Completely useless. If you open up more than one tab, go ahead and grab a novel and a Snickers, because you're going to be there for awhile. I'm not sure where these favorable reviews are coming from, but if you have ever used a mid to high range computer or laptop, you will not have the patience to use this machine at all.

I researched dozens of laptops, and this one came out on top. I bought it over a year ago, but I waited to do me review so I could see how it worked. It was a great price and its a great laptop. I highly recommend!

ALL hardware fine for the $. Win10 you can see a very annoying lag with any typed input. That's with no additional programs or antivirus installed. MAJOR irritant is if need to use SD card it sticks out about a quarter of an inch. Several inputs in back which they have to go somewhere, not really an issue on a laptop. CD works fine, HDMI fine for streaming. Haven't tried the webcam. Keyboard has nice feel, and responsive enough. Sound is about the same as most speakerphones, not impressive but adequate. Bluetooth makes up for poor sound. I'm typing this with Linux mint live cd, no lag. Despite the value, thinking I'll return it and hope for something better on black friday. If too late to return will be installing Linux.

I've been working on computer systems since the early 80's and know what I'm doing. Started off okay with the initial install, connected easily to my wireless network but no user manual, as promised, no Windows 10, the thing is very slow and half of the keys don't work. Acer support not available evenings or weekends and couldn't use chat because their system couldn't validate either my serial # or SNID #. It's going back as soon as I finish this review!
