I love the smaller size. This is my second one in 10 years. I use it daily for my personal business.

I bought this laptop for my 10 year old son for his frist laptop. It handles low graphic games well. The sceen is little dim to me even with the brightness turned all way up. But for the most part its a sold laptop

This Acer Chromebook is a nice little machine. I use this just for traveling and playing on the web. I would say if you don’t need anything fancy and just a light, portable machine to surf the web, check emails, social media etc. then this is for you.
When I got the box you could really tell how light this thing is without compromising the build quality. It feels very sturdy and put together nicely. After a bunch of updates it was ready to go. Once you’ve signed in it’s as simple as can be. I’m not a technical savvy person so I can’t tell you about speeds but I can say this operates as fast as any laptop I’ve ever owned.
The battery life seems great, at first I was using it pretty hard for about 8 hours and still had battery left.
Overall I think it’s a perfect machine for what I mentioned before. I think it’s perfect for younger kids, keeping up on emails or updating your calendar but keep in mind this is not a computer you can do all your work on. If that is what you are looking for you will need to spend more money and get a true laptop.

First off, when reading this review, keep in mind that this is a very basic laptop at one of the lowest price points you can get.
Build Quality and Performance:
The build quality of this laptop is very good even given that it is all plastic. It feels very study. It is very small with a very small screen, but if you are looking at this, that is probably what you want. The performance is decent, especially given the specs. It can take some time to do things like open windows, but nothing frustrating or feel like you are waiting around. It is just noticeable. I will say again that I was pleased with the performance given that it has a Celeron processor with 4GB of RAM. It is best used for email, the Internet, and streaming video, but not much else. If you are looking at this, that is probably all you want it for anyway. It also only has 64GB drive so you won’t be able to load a lot of apps or photos on it. It only takes a few seconds to boot up. I got around 8 hours of battery life from it.
The Screen:
The screen is very small, but that is to be expected on such a small laptop. The resolution is very low and that is probably my biggest complaint about it. It doesn’t show very much of a web page on the screen at once. I would have been much happier with a higher resolution screen that I could see more of a web page at a time without scrolling. The screen is surprisingly bright and can easily be seen in the bright sun. It works better in the sun than other laptops I have used.
The Sound:
It has two speakers facing down on the bottom. The sound is clear but also very tinny. I would say they are more tinny than your average tinny speakers on other laptops. They are fine for basic laptop use and watching movies, but don’t expect to listen to music on it.
The Connections:
It has basic connections available, but really all you need. It has a USB-C port (also used for charging, USB-A, and a headphone jack.
The Keyboard and Touchpad:
The keyboard is decent and gets the job done. It has very little travel, but I don’t find myself making very many mistakes while typing. The feel of the keys is fine as well. The touchpad is also decent and again gets the job done. It is very small. I do find it to not be sensitive enough when you are tapping it to click. Sometimes I have to tap again harder to get it to register. It has your standard touchpad buttons that work fine, although they are loud and hard to press.
The Network:
For some reason, it sometimes takes a long time to connect to my Wi-Fi, I’m talking about half a minute to a minute. Other times it is quick. Once it is connected, I never lose a connection with it. It can be frustrating, and I don’t have this problem with any other PCs connected to my Wi-Fi.
The Software:
I am a big user of Outlook on my Windows PCs. I am very excited that this comes with a dedicated email application instead of having to use the web browser for email. The rest of the software is your standard fare. After the OS and standard apps are installed, you get around 43GB of space for your use, so not much space for other applications or photos.
Overall:
Overall, this is a fine laptop for what it is. If you want something for email, the Internet, or streaming movies, this works well. My biggest complaint is the low resolution of the screen. This would be the perfect companion for sitting at your local coffee shop.

I have the equivalent version of this Acer laptop from 2018, and I love it. I purchased this one only because the old laptop chrome OS is no longer supported and some websites don't work. I am returning this new one because the screen has a bluish tint that really bothers my eyes. I tried using it for a while to see if i would adjust, but I could not. Another drawback I noticed is that the power cord is very short.
