    If your primary use is surfing the web and basic tasks (text editing, email, YouTube, watching vids, i.e. the usual stuff) then this is an excellent choice. It's not the zippiest Chromebook around, but it's fine. It has just enough memory and storage to work OK, and that's fine given the low price. The standout is the nice display, very nice colors, full HD, the perfect 14" size, and bright enough. Another bonus is the great battery life. The biggest downer is that the keyboard is not backlit. The keyboard is fine otherwise. Acer build quality is good and I have had good luck with their recertified products. (I got an Acer 713 recert which is my favorite Chromebook ever and I have used many over the years, being an early adopter.) Chromebooks are simple, easy, secure, and robust. This 314 is a great example of how much they can deliver for a low price point.
