I bought my son a very similar Acer tablet at Christmas so when I saw this on sale at Best Buy I got one for my daughter. I initially bought a bargain tablet that turned out to be a bust so I returned it for this Acer. The 16GB storage is plenty for most users and the SD card slot helps. It would be nice if you could run apps off of the SD card though (should be able to if you root it). The screen is excellent with wide viewing angles, sharp resolution and fast touch responsiveness. The back looks nice and has a good texture to it. The battery life is decent but could be a little better. If you need a high quality camera then you might want to move up to a higher priced tablet. One other note is the 8" screen size is much better than 7" (more than you might think) but is still small enough to be very portable. It is also a great size for kids if that is who you're buying it for.

This is my first tablet and was purchased for a specific purpose which it does well. I researched other tablets in its approximate price range and found this one to contain everything that I needed and then some. It's powerful enough to run multiple applications simultaneously and not slow down from being overworked. The battery provides for great working time and I'm finding that I'm using my tablet more each day - replacing my laptop for general tasks. While I don't use many, if any of the preloaded apps, there is a decent assortment included. The only real downfall with this tablet is the edges of the glass, where it meets the tablet body - I can feel movement between the glass and body when holding it with my thumb - nothing to worry about, but could have been assembled just a little tighter. Overall the tablet has more than enough processing power to get most jobs done with ease to run multiple applications and run everyday tasks. Sound volume could be just a little louder, but again, that's not a deal breaker to me. I would gladly recommend purchasing this product!

Bought this for my younger daughter, she wanted an I-pad Mini, after telling her dad does not like them and their price she was disappointed, but after opening it for her birthday she has not stopped talking about it and how great it is. the only down side is a cover, but that can also be an up side cause the generic covers are inexpensive. My daughter is much happier having the android now that she has it, I like this tablet because she can ad an SD card, the size is good, and we have not had a single problem with it, battery time is good, and the graphics are wonderful.

I recently bought this tablet on friday for 119 and I wasn't expecting much. First off the battery life is great I used it for 3 hours and it was still at 26% and I was doing a lot. The screen is really great and the speed is amazing it's completely worth it if your thinking of getting it.

This is a great tablet for those who want a screen much larger than their cell phone for playing games, checking email, searching, or on-line buying. As long as there is a decent internet connection (which is quite common) I can spend those minutes waiting for the doctor or while my wife shops without being bored. As it does NOT have phone contact ability it is FREE to use without cell phone charges...your phone will provide that need. It holds a charge for several hours and uses the now standard cell phone type connection so it will recharge from a home outlet and your car. Have watched old tv shows on it and the picture is amazing. Sound is OK but ear plugs enable very loud listening levels without disturbing others. Photos are so-so and most phones have a higher pixel count but I had no use for that feature.

Bought this for an elderly aunt to read books and play games on. Was simple to operate, has a great sharp, bright display for her to see, and battery life seems good.

Bought this as a gift for my husband. The colors are vivid. Pictures are sharp. It's much faster than my Nook HD+ and it costs much less. Sound quality is not the greatest but still I am more than satisfied with my purchase. I may have to buy one for myself!

If you're looking for comparisons, the only tablet I have used besides Iconia was the Nexus 7. There both in a similar price range, however the Iconia one-ups the Nexus with it's superior screen size and less glitches after several months of use. The Iconia runs just as smoothly as a new Nexus for much longer. While it is enough to satisfy my uses, I am a little peeved that the tablet came with way too many pre-installed apps. I personally, never had a use for them and they just took up space. The only way to remove them is the root your device, but that comes with its own risks. I couldn't find a case designed specifically for this A!-850 model. The closest match is the case for the B1-810. So, I recommend searching for that if you're looking for protection.

Plus -- price point, fast processor, enough ram, good battery life, acquires GPS signals quickly (Russian system too) Minus -- sound sucks, lacks magnetometer, will not work with Optimum app.

Bought 3 of these for my kids and they love them! Speed and picture quality is great. Streams videos without any lag. Set up was real easy. They use them for homework on a daily basis and I have downloaded plenty of learning aps for them.

Seemed suitable for our toddlers 3rd birthday, having parental controls and youtube for kids. Lots of other features, storage, memory and a great size for him. More than we wanted to pay so we were going to split the cost. Hubby decided to pay for it and I'd buy the screen protector and kid case. Got home excited about purchase, but cannot find a kid proof case for it. All are leather book cover type. After ultimately doing research, apparently the ruggedized type covers are geared towards the ipads, android types. I'd done some research on tablets that were less expensive. Toddler is using my ipad with kid case and of I want to get on a tablet , I use this one. Doesn't take the best pics, but otherwise ok

Wanted a good priced tablet to take on the road with me to replace the laptop. Seems I use the tablet more than anything else these days and am happy with the purchase overall. Video streams well, graphics are great screen's great and clear and the tablet is very responsive. The only (small) issue I have is that it could have been constructed a little tighter - the body feels a little loose in the upper left corner. No serious issues at all and an quite happy with this being my first tablet.

i never owned a tablet in my life. Just for a beginner experience i wanted something just to start off with, mind you i am a apple fan boy and i do have all the apple gadgets(except ipad). There by android was a new platform for me. I went to store and picked up the a1-840 model of this tablet, and God i hated it. Until out of curiosity i went to checkout the tablet section while having a second thought on my previously purchase decision. And there it was. This baby, the a1-850 model. I thought of giving this another shot. And here i am praising it with all my will. The only difference between this model and the older one is the devs have improved so much that the speed, compatibility you can squeeze out of this tablet is no less than a $500 samsung tablet. With quarter of the price. This tablet was released on jan of 2015 unlike the a1-840 which likely have the same name and title but different packaging. My fellow critic seem to have lost it with the older model with low ratings, but ill presume the product was defective to be polite. So yes it is an amazing tablet. So new that you actually need to wait a few months for its covers to release. GL with your purchase you will not regret it.

For the sale price of 99.00 its a good deal. My only complaint is the internet sometimes stops and you have to go back in when browsing. Its like 5 seconds to get back into chrome and it takes me right where i left off. So not too bad. A small inconvenience. Maybe it's a setting I can change. Anyway for me, who watches Netflix (and the internet has never stopped this), uses the kindle app, MLB at bat app to watch games, and browsing online and such it works really well. I had a Samsung Galaxy tablet previously and I didn't want to pay that money for the simple things I use a tablet for. So I spent much less and am pleased thus far. Hopefully I can get a couple years out of it. We will see.

I gave this tablet to my 12 year old, it's great! The tablet's screen is crystal clear, it processes her games and downloads quickly, and holds a charge well. My only complaint is that some mods for minecraft do not work.

I was pleased with the clarity and the smooth scrolling. Does everything I need it to. Purchased for my mother and she was happy with it. Wish it had better camera and louder volume. When charging, has a buzz to it and gets warmer than I think is usual...however others reported this too and there doesn't appear to be any problems. Overall it was a smart buy.

This is a very good starter tablet or a spare tablet. Great graphics, fairly quick and easy to use. However, this is not an ipad or a samsung. It is a good average use tablet for the less serious gamer. The biggest drawback is wifi range and that is very difficult to find a case for it.
