This has to be close to the PERFECT gaming laptop. I would go so far as saying it's close to the perfect laptop full stop. The reason why is because Acer has made the Nitro 5 easy to upgrade the memory and add an additional traditional hard drive by having easy to access panels on the bottom of the Nitro (and a harddrive bay). I wish every laptop maker would be so wise. It's been just a few days, but the 256GB SSD is fast, boot time is quick and I have been able to play Overwatch without issues, I also played Fortnite without any lag or issues. The Nitro with the 1050TI graphic card is worth getting to have some future proofing built in and the i5 generation 8 is actually as fast (if not faster) than the the previous generation i7. I like the styling - the red backlit keyboard looks nice and give you a gaming vibe (you can turn the backlight off if it bothers you). Very happy and impressed with Acer's built quiality.

This Acer runs WoW, Hearthstone and MTG Arena without a hiccup. I am very happy with the purchase and the battery life. I will be upgrading the SSD with a 500GB or 1TB since the 256GB is a bit small for my needs. So far the machine has worked as needed.

I purchased this computer and it has been working pretty well since 2019. It has been cleaned and maintained and is still able to play most games at medium settings with good frames.

This laptop has been great for casual gaming and home use. I have had this laptop for 2 yrs and nothing has gone wrong with it through that time. Great camera for use with my sons home to school apps.

I was looking for a laptop for my children to use for Fornite and Roblox. This has worked very well and our family is very pleased with the purchase. For a gaming laptop the price is competitive, I highly recommend this product.

Turned out to be a great purchase for the price! Found this on sale and on tax-free weekend. I have not had a single issue in 1 1/2 year of owning, and still performs like the first day I purchased.

Sort of feel like I was misdirected for this purchase not to say it was a bad product it just turns out that it wasn't enough for what I needed it for otherwise good computer the only thing I did not like about this device was the keyboard how it was laid out wasn't a huge fan so I ended up returning it to upgrade and move up to an i7 with a little bit better graphics card better unit all together For somebody that is just using it for basic gaming or anything else somebody that is trying to keep a low budget this is a great computer for

It does everything I needed it to; entertainment and work related. After a bit I realized the how small it was. Small laptop=small screen. Plus i never got my fortnite bundle but i didnt care i dont play it. Otherwise great product.

Runs xPlane 11 at 50-75 FPS with almost every graphics setting at max or near max connected to 32" TV via HDMI. I am not a gamer, just a private pilot. Connected CH Yoke, Throttle, Flaps, Trim, Pedals and GNS430 (AP4000) - it all works.

This is a great entry level laptop for gaming/production. The 1050 ti isnt too great on higher resolutions but at 720p most games run at 60fps or above. The screens refresh rate is 60hz so vsync is well if you don't mind the input lag.

Works great! I was able to play games on this right away. Perfect for a beginner gamer. I would recommend this product

Got this a year back and so far it still works great. The only nitpick I have is the build quality of it as I feel like it could break easily. Despite that, it's pretty good for what it is.

I have had this laptop for a little over three weeks. So far it’s graphics are excellent and the sound quality is very satisfying. I even purchased a 2tb passport for more storage space. I am happy with this product.

Ordered online and received in a timely manner. Started and worked perfect for a few hours. However, when I booted it the next day the computer screen went black. Less than 24-HOURS! Computer turned on and keyboard LED's came on... but stared at a BLACK screen. Apparently, this is a common occurrence with the Nitro 5. To make matters worst, I ordered online because I am slightly in the boonies with no BestBuy close nor a UPS, so I have to pay out of my own pocket to return via USPS! I'm saddened.

My 13 y.o. loves this as she is a gamer. Main thing about this computer is it is built for gaming, and other computers crashed frequently! Not this baby! She loves the red lights on keyboard keys, as well, a neat feature!

the laptop is a great starter gaming pc. The screen isn't that great, though. The colors seem too dull, and the color is some-what off. What I see on my screen is not the same as I see on my phone, other pc, or other devices.

Bought this Acer gaming laptop for my stepson. He loves it. Seems to be the perfect beginners all around use laptop for a reasonable price. Build quaity is excellent. Purchased it when it was on sale at Best Buy.

Acer nitro 5 an515-53-55g9 excellent laptop for my son and he loves it . Great budget pc , great processor , great gpu excellent for average gaming and computing. Excellent buy specially got it on sale for $600.

Its real fast love that I don't like that there is not enough space and the battery dies real fast have to keep charging it

Great specs for a small price, nothing to complain. The temps are bit high when playing games but after a CPU undervolt and a change of thermal paste it gets better.
