My nephew asked for a gaming computer for Christmas. he asked for a different one, but after review I selected the Acer. he loves it

Out of the box it takes a little setting up , but once you update the drivers and graphics card the game play is phenomenal

Nothing flashy but wanted to buy a smaller laptop before I sent a lot on something I might not need. This is perfect for now.

15 year old wanted a gaming laptop, hes super happy with this one, plus they priced matched a week later when it went on sale.

This laptop was bought for my freshman in high school. She is able to game on it as well as do all her school work. Very easy to use.

I really wanted to like this laptop, but it has given me nothing but problems since I got it. First, it was the freezing. Every so often the laptop would just become unresponsive, no matter the program I was running, causing me to have to force shutdown. Then, I started noticing that the framerate in games would randomly drop regardless of what was on screen. After deciding to fix this, I did some research and found that the CPU was running dangerously hot (in the 90s Celsius), which caused throttling, which was what was causing the performance problems. I also found out that this is quite common with this model, and other model gaming laptops by Acer because of the shoddy thermal paste they use on the CPU. "No big deal", I thought, "I'll just have them fix it since it's under warranty." Little did I know that when I got a confirmation to send in my laptop for repair, they wanted me to pay $20+ to send it in so they could fix a problem that shouldn't even be occurring in the product to begin with! I'm now debating whether to send it in, fix it myself (for cheaper), or just throw it out the window because It honestly feels like I'm wasting my time at this point trying to fix this laptop. I honestly wish I could return this laptop, get my money back, and be done with doing business with this company, but sadly it probably won't happen. In short, don't buy this laptop, or anything from Acer unless you enjoy fixing problems with their corner cutting products.

Love price vs what comes On laptop. A second or larger hard drive would be great.

Not disappointed, so far it has done well with the basic gaming that we do. I plan on upgrading the RAM at some point.

So far so good! I bought this laptop to have when I am traveling for day to day use but mostly for gaming. Decent price!

This a good entry into an expensive market of gaming laptops. This entry level laptop has everything a 15 year old boy would like.

Used to demo an IR camera that requires high res screen, Ethernet connection and usb ports. I have recommended to other sales reps.

good buy for this price and configuration. you can add extra HDD if required. I have added 1TB external HDD and working fine :-)

Under 900 dollars for something that seems to play any game I throw at it. Nice change of pace from a full tower gaming setup

I bought this for a present for my son. So far, no complaints. He has it mostly for gaming, and it has been holding up so far.

For the $$$, these are hard to beat. The biggest shortcoming to me is the keyboard, but it's more than serviceable regardless.

It's fast and the screen is big enough to be functional. I am really enjoying a computer that works appropriately.

Got for oculus rift. Had to update the video driver before it worked. Boots up fast.
