Got it on a killer deal. Perfect entry level gaming laptop. Added 500gb ssd and 16gb ram and it runs 45-75gps. Also running it on a cooling pad and it never goes over 65 temp.

My 15 year old bought this with her graduation money! It is a great buy! Fast and will do all the gaming she needs at a fraction of the cost.

Best when bought on sale for $200 off. Runs great and smooth...only drawback is the small SSD, but the access pane on the bottom is made for adding another drive quickly and simply.

This has been an outstanding laptop for my teenage daughter. It has held up very well and it looks so cool with back lighted keyboard that can change colors.

This is a very nice laptop study super fast and upgrade able by adding ram and adding another hard drive. I bought it on sale and you cant find any close to it in price with sames specs. Boot up is extremely fast and it works great for my needs. I would have given it a 5 if it had not had been for the annoying 30 second back light keyboard timeout. This cold be fixed with a simple bios update from Acer. I could understand the timeout under battery power but it is the same when plugged in. I talked to Acer and they said that there was no fix for this at this time. Other than the keyboard back light timeout I am very pleased.

When I first purchased the Acer Nitro 5, my expectations were low. For the past 10 years I have always wanted to get into PC gaming but never had the money for a proper computer. Of course my computers in the past, I've always tested to see how much I can get out of it with games from the late 2000's. Of course with a backlog of over 40 games, the Nitro 5 was able to handle all those games at almost max settings. As soon as tested GTA 4, I had to test GTA 5 and boy was I happy when I fired it up for the first time. For someone who is looking to game on PC at a budget I highly recommend this laptop.

The laptop is great for gaming and watching movies. SSD with 8GB memory provides faster computing.

Got this for a home machine to do some email, internet, and gaming. Good graphics, easy setup, decent speed for the price. I would recommend this machine.

This has turned out to be a great gaming laptop in the first month of use, which was the intention. Easy to setup and start running on and plenty fast enough.

We bought this system for my husband who wanted to upgrade to a gaming system to play some different games he enjoys. We were not disappointed. I was actually a little jealous that his was faster than my more expensive, yet older, expert gaming PC. SO much so, that we bought another for me a few months later! Now we both enjoy gaming and doing anything else we need right on our Acer's! My only wish, was that it came with more hard drive space, and are looking into how to upgrade that currently - mostly because we love what these units can do!

I bought this laptop for my 11th grader nephew. The laptop is super fast , easy to use and great value for money. I thinking of buying it for myself.

I purchased this laptop in Oct 2018. I was very weary of purchasing an Acer as I have questioned their quality in the past. I am beyond pleased with my purchase. I did add an additional drive to store photos and media files on (non ssd) and have zero complaints about the SSD this model comes with. It boots up faster than I can even put into words. I have had zero issues with this laptop. *I use a laptop fan when I am using the laptop at my desk. For any gamers - this review is strictly after playing World of Warcraft, Sea of Thieves, GTA V, and a few others.

Overall it has been a good laptop. I just wish it had a disc drive, but it is almost never needed. It is good for the beginner gamer kid, but not really for serious gamers. As soon as my son got more serious, he wanted to upgrade, so I ended up keeping this one for traveling entertainment. In short, it will serve as a computer for all your online and academic needs, but only for beginner gamers. Price-wise, I think it is in the affordable side, but all gaming pcs and laptops are pricey.

I can run games at medium to high settings and at the price point you get a lot of bang for your buck and very easy to upgrade with extra ram or storage.

I was totally blown away by the Acer Nitro 5 laptop. Acer hit the sweet spot with this gaming laptop striking a great balance of price, performance, and value. Paired with an 8th gen Intel i5-8300H chip and a dedicated GeForce GTX 1050 Ti GPU, this combination really packs a punch for gaming enthusiasts without breaking the bank. The first thing I did was flip the laptop over and explored its underside. This thing is upgradeable! The underside of the laptop can be removed in its entirety by simply using a Phillips head screwdriver. There is an empty RAM slot next to the slot occupied by the factory installed 8gb RAM. According to the specs, you can put in two 16gb sticks for a total of 32gb. The laptop also has an empty compartment and ready connection to install a second hard drive. I had a spare one terabyte drive handy and put one in. Overall, this is one sleek and stylish laptop. It's an all plastic black colored shell with red colored highlights and red colored keyboard text and numbers. The keys for a, s, d, and w have red colored borders to facilitate gaming. The keyboard is also back lit with red so it gives it a really cool bold look. I had no use for the trackpad since I use a separate gaming mouse. The full HD display is a pure visual delight. Excellent brightness, color reproduction, and large viewing angles. The speakers also sound great. It's got all the inputs that you need: usb c, thee usb inputs one of which is usb 3.0, an hdmi input, ethernet connection, headphone jack, and a full size sd card reader. Thanks to the SSD, the laptop boots up in a few seconds. Performance wise the Acer Nitro 5 is more than capable as a gaming machine. I didn't notice any stuttering, frame skips, etc. as I was using it. The GeForce GTX 1050 Ti GPU kicks in when the game starts. The pair of cooling fans whirred in the background quietly, although it can become very loud if you manually push the fans to maximum intensity using Acer's Cool Boost technology to provide extra cooling. In terms of battery performance, I couldn't get more than two hours of gaming with a full battery. I got around seven hours when I wasn't gaming. The laptop comes with the standard flavor of bloatware, but those are easy to uninstall. In summary, I don't think you could find a comparable laptop with similar specs and performance at this price point. Acer did a fantastic job of competitively positioning the Acer Nitro 5 as a budget gaming laptop that can really handle most games you can throw at it. It's really deserving of more than five stars. It's a great gaming machine and I would easily recommend it to any gaming enthusiast.

So far so good. Easy of use great graphics sound is okay pretty fast boot up, like that the keyboard lights up, battery is okay heavy game use gets about 2 hour of use. Great value overall, but there is a one big reason I given it 3 stars, is storage space. With Windows 10, Acer own software and other software that was add that I will never use the space gets used up quickly.

This is my first Gaming pc. I wanted to start playing video games on a pc rather than a gaming system. I was advised by the Best Buy salesperson that this would do the job. I'm over sixty and am not interested in most of the latest video games. In fact, I was interested in revisting some classics like Myst and SimCity. So that is what I've done. I have to report that Cities Skyline and Riven both play very well on this laptop. So far, I've kept this laptop away from my grandkids but I'm sure to relent and then we'll see if it can handle the "Fortnite" of this world
