    Keyboard quit working withiong 30 days.

    Bought this gaming laptop and certain keys on the keyboard began to stop working by 30 days half the keys didn't work. Contacted Acer they offered to have it sent in for repair. Looked on Best Buys website ( thats where I purchased it from) and see they sell thius same model as refurbished also which makes me think that their are problems with this model if they are selling them refurbished as well. Returned it to best buy and will try the ASUS once that one is back in stock.

    Great price great display however this laptop is very heavy weighs about 15 lb and the sound is very very poor

      This Nitro 5 is one of the more heavier laptops weighing in at 10 lbs, so that is something to take into consideration when choosing a laptop. The speakers are 2Watts each, so audio may not be as robust as you might like. We would suggest using external speakers or headphones if you need more volume.     Be wary when purchasing this laptop. The price is great for all the Specifications of the laptop but what they dont mention is the long history this brand has with keyboard buttons being defective and very difficult to fix. I learned of this the hard way when i unboxed the laptop and the keyboard was not working properly. i ended up doing alot of research and procedures that did nothing to fix it. Now in the process of exchanging this junk.

    Took the first one back after the hard drive failed after only a few weeks. Took the second back after it started making noises after one week.

    Unable to reach Geek Squad to deal with a problem

    Spent hours on hold trying to reach geek squad because when I started the computer I used my e-mail address for 25 years which uses a POP-3 server, which is incompatible with Windows 10 setup and no warning about that problem in any instructions provided. After 16 hours per day for a week with ACER and following the leads from them and what I could find in Microsoft, the problem was not solved. ACER later said that the problem cant be solved

    Keyboard not working.

    The keyboard isn't working properly. Keys "s, x, z, q, o, p, g, h, L, m, The right shift key, both ctrl keys, the period key, and more are unresponsive. I needed this computer by tomorrow. But now I have to send thus useless crap back to the manufacturers. Thanks Best Buy for wasting my time.

    Do not buy Acer

    This is the worst computer I have ever bought. It last about 12.5 months then started having issues with the key board. Certain buttons stopped working. I called Acer and they have the worst customer service and would not help. Best Buy would not help either. Once it is past the return date they make it your problem. Do not buy this company’s product it is complete junk.

    My son loved this for a bit, but the graphics card took a dump after just a week. Returned it got a different brand instead

    Stopped working before 2 weeks

    I took this laptop back after 14 days. Turns out it wasnt the laptop that wasnt working but the charger. Its a good computer otherwise.

    Defective out of the box, Be ready to return

    Defective out of the box I just bought this laptop. I opened the box and I plugged it in and here is the surprise “it wouldn’t power on!. Returned to B Buy If it works its probably great, seems like Acer has some QC issues

    Very Good Gaming at Reasonable Price

    My son, who games, has been using this laptop. He has high standards for gaming equipment so I was interested in his opinion. He has a custom built desktop for gaming (i7 processor, 16GB RAM, and a good graphics card). Not the most powerful but runs graphic intensive games comfortably. He says he ran tests with his game and this laptop is only 25% less in performance tests. For the price, and portability that is acceptable. Gaming gear is very subjective to the person using it but I would add this one to your list if you’re on a budget.

    Keyboards stopped working 1 month after use

    Bought this computer around a month ago and all of a sudden my most of my keyboards just stopped working. I don’t know exactly why this happened I’m not sure if maybe this was a manufacturer problem but I’m sending my back to acer for a repair. Hopefully my computer works fine after but was very disappointed. Sorry but have to give this a 1 Star.

    POOR QUALITY-KEYBOARD

    Immediate hardware issues with the keyboard within 2 weeks. First week, was 2 letters than gradually day by day the entire keyboard! Couldn't even enter my password to get to my documents without a USB keyboard I was doomed! I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPUTER PRIOR TO THE HARDWARE ISSUES BEING RESOLVED. AESTHETICALLY, it's beautiful computer.

    Brand New and Does Not Even Turn on!!!

    I had read many reviews of many different laptops I was considering. I narrowed down my search to the Acer Nitro 5. To my dismay, I received the laptop and it will not even turn on at all. This makes me wonder if I made the wrong decision. If this is a common occurrence then Acer needs to step up their game in the quality and control department.

    Defective - returned & replacement was defective

    Original one worked great for 1 day and then keys stopped working on the keyboard. Continued to get worse, and became unusable. Returned and was shipped a replacement. Keyboard did not work at all out of the box. This computer is a defective piece of garbage.

We understand this is frustrating but in order to keep the cost of the product down, software outside what Windows 10 includes is not usually included with the laptop.     Got the laptop today very excited to try it on. Surprise won't turn on try everything holding power 12 sec 30 sec unplug hold 12 sec plug back on try power on nothing happened. Called acer support at 1866 695 2237 told the tech the problem and the answer I got is nothing they can do just return the product. Wow...............

    Keyboard died and won’t turn on

    I have had this laptop a little over 2 months and things were going fine very minimal use, the keyboard stopped working this afternoon while typing and the laptop just shut off and won’t turn back on. I spent 3 hrs trying to contact Acer to help resolve this issue only to be hung up on. Will never buy another Acer product again

    DOA out of the Box

    Cant really give much of a review, system refused to start up out of the box, tried all the online factory suggestions no go, returned to best buy the next day they couldn't get to start at least best buy had no problems giving a refund.
