Customers are saying
Customers consistently note the excellent performance and large screen size as major strengths of the Nitro 5 gaming laptop. Positive feedback also highlights the good graphics, RAM, keyboard, and overall value for the price. However, some users mention that the battery life could be improved, and the laptop's weight and potential for fan noise are recurring concerns. While some users find the laptop runs warm, others report it as easy to use and upgrade.

Great computer for introduction into gaming.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I could not be more pleased with this computer! I decided on the bigger screen, the cost was not that much different. Does everything I need and want. Only small complaint is that the fans do get pretty loud.

The price point is great
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The first laptop of this model I purchased had some keys on the keyboard that simply didn't work. This appears to be a known issue as I've read about the problem from other reviews. I had to return it to the store. I exchanged it for the same model and fortunately the second time was the charm. It works great. The price point is great for the size of the screen, having a backlit keyboard, and good hardware specs. I think Acer could easily prevent the problem of faulty keyboards arriving in the hands of customers if they simply tested the keyboards before shipping the laptops out. It would save on shipping costs, frustrated customers, and dealing with product returns.

Great price on a fast Laptop
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good price, great specs! This thing is fast! On top of it, it’s upgradable. You can add a second nve sdd and a 2.5” hdd. Fans can get a little loud when gaming, but works great.

Power problems within 6 months?
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I bought this laptop for gaming. I've basically used it every day since I purchased it in June, 2020. Then about 3 days ago, it wouldn't charge past 4% or hold the charge. I'm hoping it's simply a faulty battery, but it's unnerving to spend almost $900 on a computer and pieces of it don't work. It's an Acer and they're usually really good. Aside from the power problem, it works like a dream. It is used for streaming gameplay on Twitch and it's fantastic. The functionality of the machine is great. It's just that little power problem that's dropped it to 3 stars. Honestly, I'd rate it 1 star, but my sweetheart, who uses it more, swears it's fine since he can leave it plugged in. I don't know how he manages that.

||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like the performance of this laptop, it was nicely design. But at 4 weeks in it stop charging the battery. So since I still have capability to return it and get a new one, I did, I got the newer acer nitro5.

Pretty good gaming laptop
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this laptop for my younger brother for Christmas and he loves it. It's definitely not the BEST gaming laptop, but you really can't beat the price. It did have an issue with the keyboard within the first week, but Best Buy was very helpful in replacing it for free!

Nitro 5 Better in 17.3" Screen
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A lot of power for the price point---keyboard feel is excellent. Screen size is amazing, well worth the extra $120 over the 15". Very happy with the purchase.

Very nice for the price
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I didn't actually buy this for gaming; I bought it because I wanted something fast. It's definitely not a top of the line gaming laptop, but it is fast enough for video conferencing and the like. I love this laptop and it was worth the price I paid

Issues right out the gate
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After 6 or so years with my Lenovo laptop, I decided to upgrade. I thought this was a solid deal and anticipated this to last me as long if not longer. Games run great. But not even a month in, right past Best Buy's allowable return date, the battery stopped charging. Or rather, the computer says 'plugged in, charging,' but nothing every happens. I can only use this when it's plugged in. Looking around online, it seems there are lots of issues like this, at least with the battery. If I wanted a desktop, I would have just bought one of those. Disappointing.

Great Gaming Laptop for the Buck
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’m not an avid gamer per se, but was looking for a decent laptop that [1] fits in my “under $1K” budget, [2] has great speed for me to run my online D&D campaigns, and [3] sharp, crisp imagery for the days I do play online games. Well, this was the best decision I made after hours and days of reading reviews, gawking at pics and ensuring the laptop I choose has the specs I need! Now I know there are super high performance gaming laptops, but I find this this was a perfect fit for someone like me that’s a casual gamer, but demands good, high quality! If this is you, this is the unit for you!

Excellent entry level laptop

Good value
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good gaming laptop for the price. The fan is really loud, but it doesn’t bother my son. Other reviewers mentioned issues with the keyboard malfunctioning or it not powering on, but we haven’t had any issues with it.

I got what I paid for ~ a great to use machine.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.the 17 inch screen is so much easier to use than a 15 incher. It behaves well, even with the freebie Trend anti-virus. Fast, really nice color saturation on the screen. Pick up at the store kept it out of the Fed-Ex idiot hands who toss boxes around no matter the contents (your home delivery). Nice detail: the laptop was competently packaged with foam around the laptop inside the box I was given. There are stupider fufillment practices, and I have seen them recently associated with other retailers. At the moment, Best Buy is my recommendation for purchase of user info-tech.
