This was a good laptop. While plugged in, it is a powerhouse of a gaming laptop. Unplugged its a solid media machine that can get me 3 to 5 hours of content viewing and use. Gaming unplugged is still not advised. Id buy it again.

Stellar laptop with a minor production flaw

Received this laptop today and everything appears to be in working/functioning order, except for a spot on my display that appears to either be backlight bleed or a pressure spot on the LCD.
Either of those is a problem, regardless of what the manufacturer claims. These displays are supposed to be rated for their color accuracy, and backlight bleed can have a negative impact on that. Pressure spots can be a sign of production issues. For the $1900 spent on this laptop after taxes, from a Flagship/premium sub-brand of a major manufacturer, they should have figured out how to not have backlight bleed.
All the specs are as they should be. The keyboard and trackpad feel nice and the display is gorgeous, EXCEPT for that flaw. I'll see about returning it or find out what Acer will do about it, I guess.

My initial impression of the Predator Triton 500se is really satisfying.
The Predator 500 is an easy win over other laptops with similar specs, including the MSI GS66 Stealth 10th Gen. It is a well-built gaming laptop with Intel and Nvidia's latest offerings for the price.
In short, stop looking and purchase; for me personally, I was concerned with the GPU, Noise, and Battery life. I wanted top-notch plugged-in performance and off-power useability.
GPU Performance:
The Nvidia RTX3060 is running up to 105W, offering excellent framerates for the latest titles I play.
Example: While playing Cyberpunk 2077 with graphic settings set to Raytrace Ultra, I was getting a steady 72 fps, compared to my 61 fps on my MSI GS66 Stealth (GS66256) also on Best Buy's website running the same GPU and a 10th Gen i7.
This Predator handles this game with ease and without reaching TDP for the GPU or CPU.
Battery Life:
The 99.99 watt-hour battery is providing exceptional battery life of over 5 hours doing 'computer' stuff; while you cannot necessarily play GPU intensive games, you can, however, do other computer stuff without the need of being connected to the charger.
Noise:
Compared to my MSI GS66 Stealth, this computer is very quiet and nearly inaudible while using it. In addition, on Turbo, the fan noise is far better than the MSI in this regard as well.
In summary, the 3 zone RGB KB is a pleasure to type on, the trackpad it accurate, and the display is clear and very bright. I can even play games using the built-in speakers.
This is a direct comparison for the MSI GS66; for the same dollar, I would recommend the Predator Triton 500se over the MSI GS66.
The Asus has a newer CPU 11th gen, much quieter, excellent 16' display, and more powerful graphic card.
If the MSI $200-$300 dollars less, I would certainly say it is an easy contender.
The only thing I would like to have seen on this model is Perkey RGB.

Amazing machine. I'm not a heavy gamer, but it has handled any game like a champion. The fan can get loud when used in turbo mode. Overall I'm very happy with the purchase.

This is one of the strongest gaming laptop on the market right now. High resolution plus the RTX 3060 make this laptop an absolute beast. The only downside is the storage space which is not that great for me.

No adaptive sync on this model = major omission

This laptop has one major problem: the Lenovo Legion 5 Pro. If you can find it, the L5P has a higher wattage 3060, g sync, and very similar build quality and specs at a lower price. In fact, you can get the 3070 (140w) model for $1400 if you can find one.
I bought this one thinking it at g-sync and micro LED display as per Acer's website. It doesn't. The screen is great, but tearing was bad in most games. The omission of adaptive sync is a huge one on an otherwise well spec'd gaming laptop.
The 105w 3060 is good, but this QHD+ screen really needs a 3070 or at least a 130w 3060 to get good framerates at QHD without dialing down a lot of settings.
If this laptop had g-sync or freesync and was priced below $1500 it would be fairly compelling. As is, it just can't compete.

Performance is good, enough for gaming (played AC Valhalla, Modern Warfare 2, FarCry6). Good battery life.
But, always the problem with Predator Sense, service always stops in the system, need to turn it on manually
Problem with the fingerprint on login, after reboot, sleep "something went wrong, try another way" sometimes even PIN not working. I tried different drivers from official support, the same problem on Windows 10 and Windows 11. Problem with sound, it's poor...very poor for an expensive laptop. Really not satisfied, don't know, really want to trade or exchange it....I bought final product, but it's seems that i received something on beta...

Top of the line gaming laptop. I am very happy with this purchase. Super easy set up, excellent for gaming. The fans do run loud and the laptop can get hot but the fans do their job. The screen is also great, I love the 16x10 aspect ratio and runs at higher resolution than most laptop.

This laptop was great! It needed the option of a bigger SSD, 512GB is ridiculous, but the screen and brightness were super, really nice keyboard, great sound, quick processor. The problem? Apparently absolute crap build relating to the battery! This is a known issue with Acer that hasn't been reviewed enough, so I didn't know about it until I had the problem myself of the laptop being plugged in and not charging. Then I found a number of posts and threads on it. The older model had a battery reset button you could reach on the bottom through a tiny access hole, this model doesn't have it so I didn't have the option of doing that. Also the motherboard is upside down so has to be removed to access the battery area to do any kind of repair. Sometimes it's just cushioning material that shifts then melts and shorts out the battery connection. But it's crap quality control for this to still be happening.
I had this computer all set up! I couldn't boot it because I didn't realize the battery drained while it was in sleep mode, because I had it plugged into the charger. So I could do absolutely ZERO! I basically had a brick.
Best Buy was no help because THEY. DIDN'T. HAVE. A. SIMPLE. CHARGER. So because there was no way to be certain it wasn't the charger I had to opt for a replacement!!! So all my data is 1. Still on the laptop and supposedly going to Acer, who may just rebox it and sell it as is as a refurb with my data on it, though of course they shouldn't, but nobody does the right thing anymore, or Best Buy may do that, how do I know? 2. I lost my hours and hours of time loading data and setting up all my preferences. 3. I don't know that the replacement won't have the exact same issue, so now I have ZERO CONFIDENCE in the product.
I should have stuck with MSI.

Laptop is very fast, I use it for both business and pleasure - games play great on it. The Nvidia GPU can be used for data science or as a cloud computing resource which is fairly unique and provides a reason for the high up front investment.

Performs well. Keyboard and trackpad are nice. Runs pretty hot (and loud) under load. Battery life is okay for a gaming laptop. Unfortunately, this model seems to have an issue where the LCD ribbon cable isn't seated properly, so some people (like me) experience screen flickering. This is fixable...but disappointing for a laptop of this price. If I had known this I would not have bought it.
