This chromebook becomes laptop or tablet version. It is lightweight and has a nice but not excellent display. Recommend this one for a useful chromebook for a goodmprice.

Brought this chrome book for my 11 year old grandson for Christmas. He found it very easy to use. He said it would be great for his school work. It is light enough and small enough to carry it with him when he goes to someplace other than home. I always have good luck with everything I buy at Best Buy.

I literally bought one of these for each of my kids, my nieces, and two aunts. For about $299 (on sale from $199-250) you get a touchscreen, tablet, and laptop all in one. I do lots of searching, emailing, and movie watching and it is GREAT for all of that. I don't know why everyone doesn't have one. For a few bucks I bought a cool clip on case in bright green. I love this computer. I've had a Chromebook for years but this one is the bomb.

I've had three Chromebooks over the few generations that they've been available. I like the previous two, but they weren't great. This one is awesome. Well built and fast (for what it's meant for). Battery life is superb -- like 8 hours or more. 95% of what most people do is web-based, and this will get you there almost all the time. For those that want more look into crouton, a Linux-based system that runs alongside ChromeOS without dual-booting or disrupting any of the native functionality. Android apps are available on this device, too, and most of them work great. I've had hit-or-miss success with video streaming apps, though. The touchscreen is fast and accurate, and works great for regular Chrome, Android apps, and even crouton.

I love the weight and size of the computer. It's speedy, with great speakers. It cannot replace my work computer for spreadsheets and data reports but it can supplement for note taking and presentations I do online.

It was given to her as a gift; she wanted it because she uses similar ones in school. She likes that it starts up fast, is small, lightweight, and can use in three ways: Computer, computer with on screen keyboard, and touchscreen only. She's happy, so I'm happy!

I was looking for an android tablet in the $300 range to carry with me and be a kind of portable, "Take to the soccer practice in case I have to do <something>." I didn't want to always carry my heavier laptop around with me. When the screen is folded around it actually does make a pretty good (if not a little thick) tablet. You can install the android play store and install a lot of android applications. Not all, but a good number and many are getting updated to support the Intel chromebooks, and yes once they are downloaded you do not have to have an internet connection to use them. In fact there are a lot of "offline" apps that can be downloaded from the store. You can even install several different versions of linux if you put the chromebook into developer mode. Plenty of online tutorials online that are simple to follow. One thing I didn't expect was how responsive the keyboard is. I didn't even pay attention to the keyboard when I got it, figuring I was going to use it like a tablet most of the time. It is better then the keyboard on my $1800 laptop. I am not sure how to describe why, but I can type faster (although it doesn't help with the spelling or grammar). The touch pad is OK, and very usable... But if I am going to be using it like a laptop for any length of time I have a small usb mouse. The WiFi adapter seems to have a very good range and I am able to get good signals when others can't. The CPU is a Intel Celeron, so you are not going to get super performance on anything processor intensive, but it tears through chromeOS and does well even with the Ubuntu I have installed. The 4gb of RAM makes all the difference in the world when it comes to having a lot of tabs open. The 32 GB of storage is plenty, but pretty much required if you want to put Linux on it. There is a USB3 port which is nice, and the SD card reader is plenty fast and I have used this several times to review photos I have taken. All in all I like this thing and really think that even though it doesn't run windows (which some might actually consider a good thing) I think it makes a very of a usable computer and plenty for most people.

I purchased this Acer Chromebook while getting ready to take an overseas vacation. I liked the size and lightness of the unit, but was also impressed by the quality of the materials used. I've never used a Chromebook before, so there was a little bit of a learning curve, both from a software standpoint and a physical one, since the keyboard is laid out slightly differently than I'm used to (I keep putting my fingers one key over to the left than I should). File management it a bit different as well than for me as a Windows user, but it didn't take that much to learn. I didn't have much issue with multiple tabs being open, but I don't use much in the way of memory-intensive programs at the same time, so I never ran into any memory issues while multi-tasking. The screen was bright and easy to read and the resolution wasn't a problem for me other than it being smaller than I've worked with in the past, but it was easy to use otherwise. My main problem was with the mousepad, which to me is a bit clunky; I ended up getting a small Bluetooth mouse to use, which I found to be a better and more productive route. Overall, I'm happy with the Acer build and the Chromebook system and would recommend it.

this laptop is amazing. it's light, user friendly, touch screen, for 200$?!? i honestly do not know why it took me so long to decide on buying one. The touchscreen is a great feature and the fluid transition is like no other laptop I've owned.

I bought this to use for online meetings because of the long battery life. I've ended up using it for a lot of things because it's so light weight compared to my other laptops. It's fast and it folds to any position you need it. Wonderful device.

I received the Chromebook as a birthday gift. I really love it a month later, it's nice and compact and I like the touch screen option. I'm slowing getting use to the features as this is much different from the HP laptop I was using before. Battery life is awesome and lasted much longer than my laptop and the speed is fast as well.
