Great movie of actual SEALs in action & their commitment to our safety

Overall happy with it, DVD clarity is still good but not like Blu-rays

I enjoyed the storyline and sort of "being let in on" what these men and their families experience. It seemed to me part movie and part documentary, which in this case was done well. The acting was good, as it seemed as if the actors were not acting but being natural. I liked it!

Movie is cool, not an oscar winning movie, but entertaining for what it is. The acting is only ok, but one needs to remember these are not professional actors but instead people that have served in the armed forces. So to be negative about the acting is just foolishness. Acting is ok, script is good enough and you will have an entertaining night watching it. If you want to watch great acting look elsewhere. The bluray version of this movie> Sound and picture are top end as expected for a bluray release. Especially during the boat/shoot-out scene. Amazing sound. If you can pick this movie up during a sale, do it!

BETTER THAN EXPECTED, CONSIDERING THE MAIN LEADS ARE AL PORTRAYED BY REAL ARMED FORCES MEMBERS. IF YOU EVER WANTED TO WATCH A LIVE ACTION MOVIE VERSION OF CALL OF DUTY... THIS. IS. IT.

I recently saw part of this movie on cable and immediately wished I saw the whole story from the beginning. Best buy had a great sale on this Blu-ray-DVD set for $8. I like this movie and the portrayal of the lives and sacrifices of active-duty military personnel in harms way. Some of the acting is a little uneven(real Navy SEALs, not actors), but the action, military hardware, and scenarios are solid. If you enjoyed Zero, Dark Thirty, Lone Survivor, Black Hawk Down, or American Sniper, you will want to add this to your movie library.

Saw part of this on a trip overseas and made a note to get it when I returned home to finish viewing. The SEALs were portrayed by real ex-SEALs, and on the whole, they did a great job in light of them not being trained actors. The overall plot was predictable in spots, e.g. I predicted the death one of the main characters as they were introduced at the beginning of the movie. The pacing was pretty much spot on, with plenty of well choreographed action sequences without being overdone (*cough* Michael Bay). Getting this on sale for 9.99 is just icing on the cake

If you're looking for a Hollywood 'war movie' with all the generic notes being hit (extended backstory, love interests, cliche dialogue, unrealistic scenarios and overblown action scenes) then this isn't the movie for you. But... if you'd like to see a modern armed forces action movie starring real navy seals using actual equipment and tactics in an action packed 1-1/2.... this will blow you away. It's awesome

I had read reviews of this movie before watching it and a number of them do make this out as a "Call of Duty" movie. It doens't make the movie bad, but it isn't your typical war movie as the actors involved are all actual military trained and at times they do use real live ammunition for an authentic look. It is definitely worth at least checking out if you're into movies like this.

I think because this is based on a true story and stars a group real Navy Seals and must have had an advisor telling them what the real stuff was like, it delivers just that. Real soldiers in real situations that are way above what the average American understands. As with many military stories, the original mission only gets more and more complicated as they go along. Very well done and immensely entertaining.

Act of Valor is a movie for those that only want to see a war movie. It doesn't feature any of the basic principals that make a movie 'a movie', but instead follows real enlisted military in a movie style war. It isn't a bad movie, lots of fighting, but don't expect things like character development because that's not what this movie is about.

While this may not be the best movie in the world, it does show realistically what SEALs do and how efficient and effective they can be. Because they are real SEALs and not actors, the movie doesn't totally satisfy, but because they're real, it brings it to another level. We owe a lot to our service members and this movie will make you proud of their efforts on our behalf.

An action-packed movie showing the incredible exploits of the Navy SEALS. The story threads are thin and the stars are real SEALS, not professional actors, but the overall viewing experience is a real eye-opener on what these braves soldiers do and the sophisticated military equipment they have. The Blu-ray has terrific video and audio quality.

My expectations were high. Entertaining. Glade I waited for release. Seemed to miss the mark for me.

EXCELLENT!!!! Words cannot describe. These guys put their life on the line in ways totally unimaginable. The cinematography and story is great. This movie places you in the middle of the action which seems very real. Powerful and emotionally disturbing movie. One can only imagine the dedication, love of our country, un-ending sacrifice our military, here the SEALS, possess.

Get a real snapshot of Navy Seals at work in this high power action movie from all aspects of the mission. Awesome action scenes, thrilling detail, and personal touch as the characters are all played by our service members. A true movie of patriotism and dedication to our Armed Forces. I could watch this movie over and over!

We thought this would be a great movie. My hubby and I were bought a little disappointed.
