Great for mobile streaming
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We were looking for a more convenient way to stream netflix and hulu from our phones directly to the tv. We previously had a cable to do this (which also cost right around $50) but it was short and drained your battery since it had to be left attached to the tv. With this new device we can have our phone any where and be connected to the tv without any wire or hassle. Definitely recommend.

Works Great!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought to project sports videos from my phone and computer to my HDTV. Worked effortlessly with my Galaxy S7. Took me a while to figure out why it wouldn't work with my computer (doesn't support Miracast). I had to purchase the transmitter & pair with the receiver for it to work. Also, when we miss a show that is available to view on ABC.COM, we can project that to the TV since Smart TVs do NOT support Adobe Flash Player, which is needed to view shows. AND, with NFL Ticket... You can view games on the TV without the receiver by projecting from a phone or computer!

From Laptop to TV
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking for a device that would allow me to project content from my laptop to my big screen tv. I once had such a device and paid over $100 for it. So far, this device is working as advertised. I can connect the ScreenBeam to my tv via USB, but I choose to connect to my receiver. It works like having duel monitors. I can place content on the big screen and still work on my laptop. Since I have the device connected to my receiver, I power it with my cord that came with the device. Setting up the device is easy. Plug it into the receiver, go to laptop and connect via Bluetooth. My laptop was able to find it with no problems. In terms of cons, the device does get warm while in use and it is warm as it is plugged into the receiver and plugged in. So far, no major problems but I may start to unplug it when not in use. Also, I must reconnect each time I want to use the ScreenBeam. If you are looking to do what I wanted to do, I would recommend this device. I purchased another one for another tv and I can use it on the same laptop by connecting via Bluetooth. It is similar to Google's Chromecast and cost a bit more at $40. I hope this helps.

Buy it! Fantastic device! Does just what it says!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm not a long winded person, so I'll just say that the Actiontec Screenbeam works! It works great- it actually works better than great! It connects to the phone and mirrors the screen to the tv or monitor that the Actiontec is plugged into. Media content and even sound are reproduced smoothly with zero lag time! Movies, videos, web pages, ANYTHING you view on your cell will be mirrored by the Actiontec Screenbeam. Setup is quick and super easy (I had mine up and running in less than 5 minutes). Best of all it DOES NOT REQUIRE an active wifi internet connection to work! Do yourself a favor and GET this product. YOU WILL BE SATISFIED!!

Works great for LG G6
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works great and I highly recommend for people who need to wireless stream from their phones to their TV's. Well easy to set up. The app for updating is trash, DON'T DOWNLOAD IT. Just turn on screen sharing or whatever it's called on your device and it will find it. ALWAYS use the supplied HDMI extension cable that come with it because the device itself gets really hot and will make your TV hot if plugged directly in. Using the HDMI cable will keep your TV from getting hot. Using the USB cable plugged into the TV to power the device only when its turned on. So if the TV is on stand by then the screen beam is off. Great device, only had 1 issue which resulted in unplugging the device and plugging it back in.

Doesn't get much better than this!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I our hated this reluctantly because I was used to having a cord that I had to plug into my phone and the TV... Wasn't sure of wireless would work without lag or sputtering but I'm glad I took a risk on this. It's nothing short of amazing. Now all I have to do is push one button on my phone and it's streaming on the TV. Awesome!

Awesome, Look, no cords!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Boy how things change. In less than 10 years, I went from using a splitter on my computer monitor, and the big old clunky cords, to a really long hdmi cord, and now, look no cord! I have to laugh, I went to Best Buy looking for another long hdmi to hook my 51" tv to my computer, and the sales guy asked my why I didn't just buy one of these instead. He assured me it wasnt just for android and would work with a pc. And it was cheaper than the cord I was going to buy. It works fantastic! Granted, the sound still comes from the pc, but the picture is right there once you select your source on the tv, and click to connect on the pc. Perfect. I am definitely enjoying less wires too!

Really great streamer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This streaming stick works as advertised. Easy setup and a great mirroring function that apparently does not require an existing wifi network. Parents love this thing.

Works as promised
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ok, I'm a total nubby to this product. I have a Note 5 and was disappointed with note finding a screen mirroring product besides Samsungs high priced unit. A Best Buy employee steered me to this unit and helped me understand how it works (instructions inside were confusing). Took it home and followed the employees instructions and away I go, watching Netflix from my phone...on my TV!

Great way to connect wirelessly to HDMI!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased it to connect to my phone and found that I can connect to a large number of my things. Two of the laptops I own and three different phones. Works great. Fast and easy connect. It says its best to connect directly to an outlet, but I found it better to connect to the USB of my TV that way its only on when my TV is on. Would have given it five stars, but it stopped working after a month. New one has been working great ever since then. I recommend it!

Its great for what it does.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.1080p quality, definitely works. But im giving it only 4 stars and not 5 because: Makes my device hot (I just put the fan while being connected) The product itself also gets hot connected to the tv. (So idk how long it will last with the heat possibly damaging the product) Maybe that's why they offer 2 yr warranty if you pay for it...hmmm. It lags but idk if that's my signal or just how it is. Once it stops lagging, it works great. As long as no one calls you or notifications kick in causing it to lag.

Works great with compatible phone
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This device works great and is one of the few that I know of that works without internet. So that's a major plus for those without it. Setup is also very easy as long as you have a compatible device. We were using for casting from our phones and found out you have to have the SmartView capability on your phone to get it to work. As long as you have that it's an easy plug and play device. Just be sure to read the device requirements carefully.

Great for casting my phone to a TV in hotels
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I used the receiver to watch shows (Netflix and stuff) in a hotel with not so great wifi (okay for browsing, not for streaming) on an extended business trip. It doesn't require a wifi network or anything, so I was able to just sync my phone and use my unlimited data plan to watch stuff without constantly buffering or dropping to potato quality on the hotel wifi. The video and audio was good (or at least as good as the hotel TV was, I feel that was the limiting factor). There was no need for any app, it just worked right out of the box - plug it into the TV and wall, select screensharing on my phone, and choose the receiver. One issue I noticed is that the receiver doesn't have any options - including any overscan settings. So if the TV its hooked up to overscans it will crop off the edges of the projected phone screen and to fix this you have to disable overscan in on the TV. Fortuitously the TV I had at the hotel had a remote option to disable overscan (though I had to select it each time I turned the TV on). So you may want to consider this if you'll be using this on random TVs. The only other issues is that to work the phone's display must stay on (you can't just start watching something and then turn off the display). This is more a phone issue though than a problem with the receiver (they can't change how the phone operates). But it does mean that your battery will drain quickly, so it's best to be plugged in while casting (which shouldn't be a problem, but It's good to know).

Finally Screen Mirroring Without Wifi
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have the Samsung Note 5 and a LG LED TV and I really wanted to stream my movies from the phone. At the time I didn't have any WiFi at home so I needed something other than a chrome cast or fire stick and I tried several MHL adapters to no avail. So I tried this, plugged it in...voila it worked!! It uses the WiFi direct from your phone and the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it drains a lot of battery.

Works as promised
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this for the office as none of the PC laptops have HDMI and couldn't connect to the Flat Screens in the conference rooms. In the end, our IT has the laptops locked down so tight that you have to get permission each time the driver updates - but that's not the fault of Actiontec. In the end had to go with the "corporate solution" but this worked great (I tried it on the non-compliant laptops...worked great!)

Best $50 ever spent
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Saw this on sale and thought it was worth a try. I use a 13" Windows laptop just to be portable and light weight with my daily carry bag. When I work at home on the couch, I miss my widescreen office monitor. This was the perfect tool. Instead of staring at a small 13" laptop, I can work on my 60" tv screen. Less fatigue squinting at small font or icons, and it seems like I work more efficiently. I'm thinking of getting a couple to use on different tv's in the house.

Awesome Miracast (PC, iOS, etc)
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This thing really rocks. A great way to broadcast your screen or extend your screen for multiple monitor use. Fast, easy setup. Works with my family's iOS devices, Windows Phones, and windows PCs (7 and 10). It probably works with Android, too, but I haven't verified that. Recommend this product, and I am getting a second one for my travels.
