I use this to cast my S6 and S9 to cast/ mirror my phone or my laptop directly to each other without using existing wifi. Unlike chromecast, you still have to connect to wifi then you can mirror. With an App from my cable provider on an Android phone or by logging in to my cable providers website on my pc, i was able to cast to a TV and have all the TV channels available that I have at my primary residence. Works as advertised!

In theory it's great, but problems out of the box

You can forget about multiple wires, and you can beam any computer, laptop, phone, ipad, etc. directly to the screen to which this is connected. When I first hooked it up it was fine. But if I stepped away for a while and came back, the connection would drop and i would have to set it up all over again like it was the first time (instead of reconnecting). It could have been a faulty device, but since I purchased a cable that worked perfectly, I stuck with that.
