I'm an owner of GH2, GH3 and Rock Band, all on Xbox 360. So I when I heard GH was coming to the Nintendo DS I pre-ordered that very same day!
I got it today and was very excited to start playing but was almost immediately disappointed by some of the controls. First as others have mentioned the buttons are small. I've already experienced several times where one finger hits two keys and I miss the note.
On top of that it seems that the buttons need to be positioned further 'up' on the DS. I hold the DS in my left hand. The natural position of the DS in my palm causes my pointer (green button) finger to rest too high, beyond the frets. This is because the DS has to be perpendicular to your hand, it would work better if it were slightly angled.
Lastly a problem I've experienced a few times adjusting my grip is that occasionally the Guitar Grip comes lose from the GB Advance slot. causing the game to give an error message and freeze.
If you LOVE GH you'll like GH On Tour. But buyer beware. They've got some bugs to work out

If you like guitar hero you will love this. the song tracks are great. It's really easy to use. it does get uncomfortble for your wrist and fingers if you are playing too long and the cartridge seems to slip out a lot. other than that i beat the game the first day i got it!!!

This is a great game to have if you are a fan of the big console versions of Guitar Hero. It's great to know that you can take the game with you anywhere you go. I love the fact that if I'm in a doctors office or on a plane trip I can just take the game out and play. It's a great way to pass the time away.
In response to the person that said that one of the cons is that the graphics are not that great well of course they aren't because it is on the DS. The DS does not have the best graphics.
But the concept and game play is awesome and I highly recommend this to anyone who is a fan of the game!

Well i thought the game prospect of it was great following the songs were great as well.
All though there is a disappointment. When you try to align your fingers with the buttons they are 1 finger off so BEWARE. Other then the bugs and the finger problem the game was all over GREAT

I am a fan of guitar hero, so when I started playing the DS version I loved it same concept and its mobile so you can play any where, I really love it. The songs are great as well they have some good old ones and classic ones as well. I makes you not want to put your game down unless the battery dies!Pick up your on game and check it out!

I got guitar hero today and i havent put it down! if u like guitar hero for wii, x box, playstation, etc. you'll love guitar hero for ds. after like 15 minutes my wrist starts to hurt, and sometimes the grip falls out and you have to restart the game. its pretty pricey but its worth it. overall, a really good game.

This game is great.Although there were some slight changes from the regular Guitar Hero you were used to.They have instead decided to make a Guitar Hero that you can take anywhere at anytime. So they have made a Guitar grip including an additional pick stylus.Although they tried to make the guitar similar to a handheld portable device...they could not put all 5 frets on the grip which is a little disappointing. But, great overall. You're wrist may start to hurt during the middle of a song...to get rid of that..all you basically have to do is take a quick 5 minute break if it starts aching..... otherwise you can experience some pain in the wrist. But,overall i'd give this game a two thumbs-up and a rate of 5 over 5!!!

I think this game is super great, i always wanted to play guitar hero for ps2 but was not willing to pay the money for the controller and game, i just got the game and have been glued to it ever since {well except for right now}. The easy level is super easy but the hard and expert levels or a lot more challenging, especially since both of these modes use akward combos that are hard to manage at times. there is a practice mode, so you can brush up your skills. i also like the duel feature, it's a nice alternative to playing multiplayer.
The only problem with this game is that it is extreamly addictive, which leads you to want to play more, thus causing your hands to cramp, or numb ...
Also the audio is pretty poor, but that can quickly be fixed by using head phones
for the price, this games is awesome, i might actually get GH for PS2....Looks like this game has created another GH Addict

I bought this game a few weeks ago. I initially thought it was going to be extremely easy due to the fact that it has only 4 fret buttons. However, with the new way of playing it turned out to be a bit more of a challenge than I thought it would be.
While the game is fun, it starts to bother my wrist from having to hold the DS the way I do. The fact that I have an original DS which would weigh more than a Lite may play into that, but I cannot say for sure.
Overall I would recommend this game to anyone who has been a Guitar Hero fan.

I liked Guitar Hero on Tour. It was fun to take places. It had great music. One thing that really stuck out for me is it hurt my hand. No matter how I gripped it or held it, it hurt. It might just be me but you really have to take breaks when using it. You also look a little silly using it; The way you have to hold it. But other than that it's still fun. I am a big guitar hero fan.

well overall i think this is a great game to pass time and just have fun playing with your friends. it also has a newer feature where you can do a guitar battle against the computer (if you remember in the other gh's you could only play a friend) but the bad things are that your hand easily can cramp after a song or two and there is only 25 songs but then again, you can't put to much on a small little carterage. but yeah overall i would definately buy this game.

BEST DS GAME EVER!

This game is the best game on the Nintendo DS. it is very fun and surprisingly very similar to the other GH games. It takes a while to get used to with the small buttons and only 4 buttons, but it is extremely fun. It is very fun to play on the road and you can play coop and battle. My favorite new feature would be guitar duels against the computer. If you have the money and you like GH, GO BUY IT!!! I can't wait for Guitar Hero: On Tour Decades!

I have not played much of the other versions of GH so I cannot compare the DS version to the others. What I do know is that it is fun, provides opportunities to practice and it is portable. Since I am not the age of most of the other players (most likely) I find I cannot play the game for too long without my hand cramping up. The angle is awkward or something like that. Overall, great game!!!

Guitar Hero: On Tour, is my favorite game for Nintendo DS. I loved being able to recognize songs, and listen to the songs I didn't know! How great is it to be able to take the Guitar anywhere? It would be great if Guitar Hero came out with other chips for the DS with new songs, but I can't believe I have this one!
I'm totally thankful for Guitar Hero and Nintendo's On Tour Game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
100% satisfied!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is the first Guitar Hero game I have ever gotten because I was just never really into it. But when I saw this awesome idea where you can play it on the Nintendo DS I just had to have it. Now, even though I am just a beginner, I know how to play and it is very fun. There are great songs to play including Jessie's Girl, and Hit me with your best shot. I would definately recommend this game to anyone. It is so easy to learn, very addicting, and fun to play.

I got this game for myself. Its easy to use when the difficulty is on easy, but once you need the fourth fret button the error in the system becomes apparent. the fourth button isn't close enough, in that the system doesn't account for the significant difference in size from one finger to the next. I understand that they couldn't really do anything about that because it has to be ambidextrous, but it would have been nicer if they designed an entire Lefty version. that way they could move the fourth fret button closer in and make it easier to play.
