Miscommunication Between Office and Technicians

The Geek Squad technicians reprogrammed my Universal Remote Control to accommodate a ROKU device. The technicians were great! Unfortunately, the coordination between the office and the technicians was terrible. It took four trips to my house before the work was accomplished. The first time the technician was told I had a Harmony remote control. He took photos of all the devices and serial numbers in my home theater cabinet and said that he would get back to me. The next time a different tech found out that the first had misidentified the model number of the remote. The third time there was a problem with the programming that was downloaded onto my remote control. Finally, the fourth time everything worked.

In 2024 I purchased an upgrade to my home theater system. This included a Savant control system which enabled me to control additional speakers. In November of 2024, I upgraded my Internet to use Starlink. After doing this, the system would not link with my home wireless network. I contacted the geek squad and they sent a technician, Chris, out to troubleshoot my system and get me connected. Chis did fine with my home wireless network, but he admitted that he did not have much experience with the Savant system. He was going to contact someone who did have experience and get back to me. It has been more than a month now and I still have not heard back from him. I have spent more than $5,000 on the home theater and Starlink and the Savant purchased from Best Buy. I paid an additional $280 to get the Starlink connected and I paid and additional fee for the tech team to come out and get my system working. This has still not happened. I am questioning what my tech support membership gives me at this point when Best Buy cannot even get the equipment they sell to work properly. I put that I would recommend Geek Squad to a friend in the hopes that this will be corrected, but that was because there was no option that gave me an opportunity to say "still waiting."

We bought a sound bar and just had a few issues. Needed it reprogrammed due to us getting youtubetv and needed sound thru the Sony remote. Very cordial, polite and helpful young man. Highly recommend. Thank you
