    Extremely Disappointed – Still No Installation

    I spent over $2,000 on a new stove, refrigerator, and microwave from Best Buy more than two months ago, and this has been one of the most frustrating experiences I’ve ever had with any retailer. This is now the fourth installation company that has come to my home, only to tell me they cannot install the microwave because they “don’t do electrical.” I paid extra for electrical rewiring as part of the installation package, yet no one at Best Buy seems capable of coordinating it properly. Every appointment wastes more of my time with no progress or accountability. At this point, I’m demanding a full refund for both the installation and the appliances. This experience has been unacceptable from start to finish, and I will never purchase from Best Buy again.

    Installer Refused to Properly Hook up the cooktop.

    The install of our almost $3k induction cooktop has been a fiasco. The cooktop is still not properly installed [almos 2 mos after purchse] & cannot be used. Best Buy has not responded to my multiple calls to try to get this resolved. On the first attemptThe install team never came & we received No outreach from bestbuy nor the contracted installer indicating they were not coming. I missed an entire day of work. The install was rescheduled for a 2nd day. Same thing occurred. They install team never showed up & we recieved no notification they were not coming. A second day of work missed. When I outreached best buy about the "no-shows" with no contact, best buy blamed the contracted installer. The contracted installer blamed best buy. On the 3rd reschedule the intaller did show up. Shockingly, he did not bring any tools into the house and actually asked me to borrow tools, including a flat-head screwdriver & a 1/4" socket. The installer made a number of errors during the install that we brought to his attention as we had the instructions. He refused to follow the instructions, stating he knew what he was doing. He ruined he foam seal by cutting it into small strips & applying it in a "patchwork" patter on the counter-top [it is supposed to be applied in a contiguous line on the underside of the cooktop. The installer put the cooktop into the counter crooked & had no tool to make sure it was straight. We brought out our ruler & show him it was misaligned. He thought the baffle for the cooktop was a trim piece & we had to show him how to put it on. The installer was wearing numerous rings on his fingers while handling the cooktop by its glass edges. We later found numerous small chips in the cooktop's edge. The installer did not secure the cooktop with the included brackets. The installer did not properly hook up the wiring. He left wires exposed, conduit unsecured. When we brought this to his attention he refused to address it and said we had to have an electrician complete this [which was incorrect as his boss later said he shold have installed it & the electrician we hired ourselves to hook up the wires said the cook-top installer should do this]. I was able to get in touch wtih the head of the contracted install company on my own as best buy did not intervene. He said he would come to my house the next day to correct the issues. The next day he did not come. A best buy rep then scheudled a 4th day to have someone come to address the issues. On that day the service tech missed the 7am-1pm window I was given [more work that I missed]. When he called after the expired arrival window I let him know what needed to be addressed. He said this was not what he was told needed to be done , that he did not have the correct supplies and that he would not come over since it would be a waste of his and my time. Best buy has never contacted me to follow-up on this situation. I have called multiple times and get someone different each time. I am told by the best buy rep that they will call and email me to work on a resolution. They have not called me back. This has been incredibly frustrating. It has also cost me many many hours and we are still left with a damaged cooktop that was improperly installed and Best buy has refused to be back in touch to address this.

    Awesome & courteous Electrical Install!!!

    The 3rd party electrical technician - Appliance Installations- was amazing! He came early on Saturaday morning, disconected and removed the old oven. He had our new oven rewired and installed within an hour. Then they even moved the old oven to the garage for the monday haul away. We were hery happy with his service. But be sure to ask for electrical install if it is a built in wall oven, bc it is not a plug in wall jack.

    The guys that did the electric install for my dishwasher were great! Very professional-I had no clue that my old dishwasher was hard-wired, so I had to make another appointment to get the hard wire and install done at the same time!

    The team that came to install the washer and dryer were very professional. They went above our expectations when they set up our washer and dryer and they made sure everything was leveled and working properly. When they were finished they made sure that they didn't leave any trash behind.

    The electrician had to cut a new opening in the back to route the electric cable to the opposite side. I was satisfied with the electrical installation and the systems performance.

    The people that install for Best Buy don’t know what they are doing or what their talking about. Your better off watching a video and doing it yourself. I’ll never have Best Buy install anything for me

    Did not have to use them after all. Also they dropped the ball anyway needed them to come out on the delivery but they gave Appointmment for the next month so did not need them.

    It took almost two weeks to get the installation completed after many requests and an escalation without much coordination between Best Buy, the sub-contractor and the local company. When the job was finally done, I was relieved and very pleased with the electrician - he was great - and now I can put the stress of the rest behind me. Hopefully this was an uncommon glitch and will not be repeated in other people's installations..
