Good and easy to use/install
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far it is good and easy to use. The home box sound sometimes gets a little bit "robotic like", but other than that I am happy with the purchase.

Good but

Best Buy delivers ADT
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you’re debating whether to buy this system from here or Amazon, do yourself a favor and choose Best Buy. I tried ordering the Starter Plus System from Amazon twice and both times there were items missing! Ordered from Best Buy and the transaction/delivery was as smooth as butter!

Better then buying directly with ADT. Good deal
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Buying this at Best Buy was better option then buying this directly at ADT. Got it for good price and got three months of professional monitoring as well. Blue however is limited in functionality as compared to ADT but does the job.

Improvements Needed but It Works!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It’s ok, but would be much better with a few improvements and fixes. We removed our 15 yr old hardwired ADT wall system and replaced it with this self-monitored version. It also allows for us to have it monitored by ADT as well. Our large hardwired system was severely outdated, and with all of the fees and add-ons, this was the better choice for us. We also opted for this because we wanted something that we could take to future homes. Setup was a breeze. It took us approximately 20 minutes to remove all our old sensors and replace it with these. It was very easy for all of them to connect to the app and Hub and get started. The hub isn’t huge, but there was definitely a missed opportunity to make it a smaller footprint or just visually better looking to fit today’s homes, styles and colors. Also, the amount of stickers isn’t necessary and could have been replaced with another sensor or something more useful. There are tons of options to customize the system to your liking. It also allows us to add certain people with full access or restrict their access through the app. So it’s great if you have kids, because they can have access to arm and disarm but not allowed to make or access any changes within the app. Each person has their own codes just like ADT’s older hardwired system that we removed, but with the app you can keep track of who arms or disarms the system. The notifications are amazingly fast. The alarm when triggered is loud, but doesn’t give you any spoken information. We would like if they make an update for the system to say what alarm(door/window) is being triggered. It’s something we liked and preferred with our hardwired unit. Why wouldn’t you want to know what door or window is being opened or triggered?! It’s a guessing game unless you are tied to your phone. Another suggestion would be for them to add buttons on the hub that lights up. My husband noted at night he has to turn on the lights just to be able to arm the system because he’s unable to see the buttons. I’m hoping that some of the issues we’ve had can be fixed with an update. For example: When we set the alarm to “AWAY” on the hub, we’re notified that it’s been set for “STAY” and when I hit “STAY” it sets it for “STAY”. Not sure why this is happening, but the only way we can set it for “AWAY” is through the app. There are some other bugs as well. Currently there is no support for HomeKit, but there is for Google and Alexa. I tried adding it to Google and that was an easy setup. Until a few of the bugs are worked out, we give it an overall 3 stars. It does what we need it to do currently, but if we can get firmware updates to fix most of the bugs, we can give it a solid 4.

Door / Window sensors failed within 2 month
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Door / Window sensor keep failing. Out of the box one of the door sensors failed. 2 months later a second door sensor has failed. I worked with ADT on-line but because I bought it from Best Buy they cannot send a replacement.

Ok
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The unit will provide security, but is not user friendly. The sensors are not easily installed as compared to other DIY units. The motion sensors are not easily installed. Although I do like the app ability arm and disarm the system.

Best Bang for your buck, right here
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It took me about 45 minutes to set the system up using the app. And it was very easy. Anyone could follow these instructions, I mean that literally. If you live in a floor apartment, condo, or are at home most of the time. I wouldn't bother with this system or any other, there's no need for it. If you love tech and tinkering, this system is definitely for you. Because you can change it, add to it, add cameras, that you can self monitor or or pay ADT for professional monitoring. The base is attractive, and not noticeable so are the sensors, but if you do notice them, they blend in very well. You also get several ADT Signs, and stickers for your windows and lawn. Letting everyone know you are protected by ADT. In my opinion this is the best option for just about everyone. Its Alexa and Google Voice compatible the motion sensors are pet friendly and from what I read the cameras are very clear. You will need an internet connection to use this system self monitoring or not..If you pay ADT I think its around 20 bucks a month, but I am not 100% sure on that, but if its not, its very close . This would make a great gift for a 1st time home owner or anyone really..The ap instructions are ridiculous easy to follow so is setting up the sensors. You wont regret getting this starter kit...

Great Option
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. With the rise in DIY home security solutions it's great to see that ADT has thrown their hat into the race. This kit was fairly simple to install (took me about 40 mins) and so far everything seems to be working smoothly. Although the kit does not come with cameras (you can purchase separately if you want to have ones that are part of the system versus a separate security camera set up)it does come with a good amount of perks for a starter kit. You'll definitely want to consider adding more sensors if you need them for more entry points into your home but for many, the ones that come in the kit will adequately fit your needs. I'm currently using the free 30 day monitoring that was included but I definitely want to try it without the service to see if it truly fits the needs for those that don't want to pay monthly service fees yet feel like there home has adequate diy surveillance. Overall I do think this is worth considering if you want flexibility in your security options from a brand name you trust.
