I saw this series not long ago with a buddy and was very impressed. Right from the start the series gets you hooked with a great opening. The main plot revolves around two headbands, the Number 2 headband and the Number 1 headband. The headbands stand for the best warrior in the world, the one who wears the number one headband, and the only one that has a chance of killing the number one is the person with the number two headband. It starts when Afro, the main character, watches his father be killed by the man who had the number two headband, his father being the one with the number one headband. The story moves forward to Afro grown up and he is wearing the number two headband. The body of the series follows him on his quest to avenge his father by killing the number one, while at the same time painting the picture of his violent past. Once the series was over, my only disapointment was that it was only five episodes. On the positve, the series does a great job and leaves you wanting to watch it over and over again. I highly recommend this series to anyone who enjoys Anime.

Afro Samurai is a great series. It spans 5 episodes telling the story a man named Afro as he goes through life seeking a magical headband that will allow him to challenge the man who killed his father before his own eyes. In short, it's a classic revenge tale. If this appeals to you, this is definitely the version to buy. The DVD case is bound in a similar fashion to that of a hardcover book, and is adorned with beautiful artwork. Plus, this is the unedited version of the series with 15 minutes of footage not shown in the SpikeTV run. Buy now!!

This is a great cartoon series that is explosive from the jump. The style is sheek and the traditional samurai plot was a great move that actually worked very well. I only heard about this show one time before I saw it and was very impressed. I hope they keep this series going

WARNING! This animation is not for children. The story line is very good and the graphics are excellent. If you are into sword fighting anime, it's a darker version of Samurai Champloo. There is a PG-13 version but I still would not allow children to watch it.

this anime has alot going for it the theres alot of comedy action and some big stars doing the voices. Samuel jackson for starters and theres others
