Let me preface this by stating that I use a pair of Bose Quietcomfort 35 ii for lounging and general audio needs. When purchasing this headset, my only concern was getting something wireless, sweat resistant, and loud enough to listen to music while also letting in ambient noise so that I can be aware of my surroundings. This headset checked all of those boxes and have worked perfectly for the few weeks I have been using it. Build quality is great. Light enough to not really notice while you're wearing it, and secure enough on your head to not fall off even with vigorous shaking. Comes with a USB charging cable, carrying pouch, and two earplugs to help drown out ambient noise for the times you only want to hear the music. The best way to describe using this headset would be to imagine your every day life with a sound track. I typically keep the volume around 75% while biking; I can hear the music clearly and also hear any other bikers approaching behind me. Being able to hear both music and my immediate surroundings is a very strange experience. Phonecalls sound clear, and people on the other end can hear my voice clearly even when wind is blowing against me. Minor gripes with the product would be that in a quiet room, others can hear your audio around the 60% level. I guess the $150 Trekz Titanium Air is improved in this regard. If you go up to 80% the bass can feel a bit wierd on your eardrum. Overall I'm very satisfied with this headset. I use them 90% while exercising and the few times I want to listen to music without lugging around the larger pair of headphones.

Unusual but interesting alternative to headphones

The Aftershokz are a very unusual alternative to more standard headphones or earbuds. I purchased these to use during my work day while operating power tools and yet still needing to be very aware of my surroundings to frequently interact with clients and coworkers. Although good price-point, the length of charge, and ease of use are very good, the low (experienced) volume listening is the inherent drawback in the design. Since the sound is outside the ear, it will never sound the same quality/volume as in-ear or over-the-ear headphones. When ambient background noise is low, they sound pretty good and do a very effective job of having music without anyone else hearing it. However, any increase in the background noise and the experienced sound reduces quickly. For example, while walking through a supermarket these produce a good level of volume for the user. While using a vacuum cleaner, I cannot discern any aspect of the music being played other than vibrations of the headphones in front of my ears. These are probably very effective for workouts, jogging, bicycling, or rowing. I would not recommend these for motorcycles, construction work, or anywhere where the user will experience anything ambient noise levels above low levels as they will be fairly ineffective. I think they are a cost-effective quality-built product, and I do believe they are a good alternative to the more standard options for headphones and ear buds, however they do have some lackluster results which are simply the crux of the design.

These headphones are best used for listening to podcasts or taking phone calls. What I love about them is that it leaves your ears completely open. You can be more aware of your surroundings and if your using them to talk on the phone you don't feel like you need to yell to hear yourself. What they are not good at is music. All bass is lost unless you plug your ears which then defeats the purpose of the headphones. It's does come with a pair of earplugs for when you are in a safe area like "on a train" which I think is funny. Battery life lasts about 6 hours maybe a little more. I have glasses and they work fine with them on, but if they aren't sitting right it can be a little uncomfortable. I did a 5 mile run with them and had no issues. Obviously when being active you are going to hear things like wind so you'll need to have the volume up louder to still hear. They are also not quiet to others around you, it sounds like you took off your headphones and left the music playing.

Great product. Sound is lounder than one may expect from bone conduction technology. The bass is great too. A little tight on the side of the head to start but well designed with material to naturaly adj. to the users needs in a short time. Battery is the best part. 10-12hrs of play of 1-2hr charge. Depending on the charger used. Cant be beat!

The headset provides clear sound, is fairly comfortable to wear and has a decent battery life. The headset does tend to slip back off my head, causing me to push it into position as I would a pair of ill fitting glasses. Other people have indicated that you can hear the headset from several feet away. I'm told that it isn't clear what they hear but it can be heard. Compared to my yoke style earbuds the second hand sound is too much to be reasonable. I bought this headset mainly for use when I want stereo sound but can't, for safety reasons, use earbuds or over the ear headphones. For this purpose they work fine. I can hear what I'm playing through them as well as everything else I need to be listening for. If it wasn't for the second hand sound this headset would be great.

Use these on long bike rides. Comfortable with my sunglasses and helmet. Music quality is good not loud. Yoga and indoor workouts are fine also but lying on the floor and leaning back in a chair can cause the headphones to push forward. Very capable when used for phone calls on my iPhone.

I work outside in the elements during all seasons and down a dirt road, I am out in the wind- which blows dust most every day, there is irrigation sprinklers running water constantly in the summer and I am either driving or near noisy farm machines. For many years while at work I have struggled to hear my phone ring; never mind be able to hear my customers speak while I am in the field. On a whim went to into Best Buy; explained my situation to a couple of helpful sales folks, and with their recommendation- I chose Aftershockz Trekz titanium bone in headset. FANTASTIC! I can hear the phone, speak with ease, hands free so I can write a order or continue working while talking with customers, and my customers can hear me without shouting over all the background noise. Because the ear set rests on my temple not in my ear I am still able to hear what is going on around me- much more safe and convenient. With AfterShockz there are no wires to get caught up, just a very light weight frame that slides around the back of my neck- and under my hair it is not visible. I can wear a baseball hat with no issue. The sound quality is superb, sound resonates into my head- there is volume conrtrol so it doesn’t blare. Better than any ear bud I have ever tried. (After a few wears) they are so comfortable I forget that I am wearing them. It did take me a few days to get used to the pressure of the speakers resting over my glasses, and if I’m wearing a hoodie or beanie it pushes the set around a little - easy to adjust though. They aren’t comfortable to wear at night music listening while lying down. First world whining- Minor inconveniences. AfterShockz Titanium are the best product for comfort and efficiency that I have tried. I am going to get the new model this summer as I understand the ear wrap is even more comfortable. After years of searching, this was the best $100 I ever spent! I highly recommend them for folks that work and play outside. A word in praise of Best Buy staff- very helpful, attentive, really listened to, as well as responded to my needs. Excellent customer service.

It's actually a fairly good headset with pretty good sound quality. After reading what this headset is designed for I wondered why I even bought it. Here's why I kept it. We're not allowed to use headsets at work with both ears being covered or both in-ear plugs used. It's a safety thing! But I want to block out the annoying air blowers, certain hydraulic tests emit a pitch that drives me crazy, and certain annoying coworkers that talk all day long! I inserted both foam earplugs provided (included with your Trekz) and put on my AfterShokz Trekz. OMG! What a world of difference! It was like a concert in my head! I totally blocked out all ambient noises and only heard the music in my head. I mostly listen to my Audible books and I really love it. Also, I can't be busted for plugging both ears with my headset because I have foam earplugs in AND I can still hear others IF I choose to by just using one earplug. DISLIKE: There's no adjustability for smaller heads. The 2 rubber bands provided don't do anything for smaller heads. I wear a hat most of the time and I drape the AfterShokz across the back of hat to take up the slack, plus it stays in place even when I'm jogging. Other dislike is the battery life. It says 6 hrs but I've gotten 4.5 hrs. I just charge it during my lunch break, it charges pretty fast. I have shared this with a coworker and he now owns one too after trying mine out. He has the same views as I do on this product.

These are GREAT headphones!!! Especially if you would like to hear things around you while you listen to your music or talk on the phone. Great if you are listening to kids around you while doing what you have to do. I work for a cable company and need to be able to hear for hazards (trafic, dogs, etc) when doing my job. I like that I can hear a phone conversation in both ears at the same time. I tend to have a hard time hearing with the one ear headsets. If you put in earplugs (come with this) you can actually hear the music better and then block out all the ambient sounds around you. Very comfortable for all day use. I tend to use them from 8AM-8PM. battery last all day then some. Again, I use these all day for mostly phone calls, which I'm doing most of my day. I have tried the Samsung buds and could not hear around me at all. Nor did I like how they were in my ears.

First of all Battery life! I work 10+ hours a day, and have never had it run out on me. I listen to audio books all day, turning off and on to communicate occasionally. Second, sound quality. Ok they aren’t pro lvl headphones for music production and sound engineering. But I wear them with headphones and ear plugs, and it turns my factory into a classroom. And when I listen to music it sounds like music. Not fuzzy, not distorted, just good music. Didn’t expect that good of sound from them at all. Comfort: They are super light, and except for bumping into collar shirts (cause they wrap around the back of the head) I forget I’m wearing them, literally. I was contemplating the more expensive models, but honestly, I am stoked in every way for how these perform. If you’re thinking about them for work or working out, DO IT! They box under promises and over delivers!

I purchased these headphones for outdoor running so I would be able to hear what's going on around me during my runs, whether that be cars/traffic, bicyclers passing me, or just conversing with my running buddies. They function as expected. The sound quality is decent (I do not use the earplugs with the headset) and works well for what I purchased them for. They stay put quite well during my runs. They are fairly sturdy and durable, and also water resistant. All in all, I am pleased with my purchase and the quality of this product so far (I have been using them for 2 months). They charge relatively quickly and the battery lasts several hours. If you are looking for the best sound quality, these are not the right headphones for you. However, if you are looking for some background music while you go about your business or activity while being able to hear what is going on around you and/or carry on a conversation, then these are perfect.

these headphones surprised me a lot. They are perfect for using when you need to hear what is going on around you, also the Bluetooth speaker for calls was also very useful. I even used them with my Ps4 as a mic so i can still use the TV speakers. Sound quality wise i believe they could be a little better, but i love feeling the bass on my head.

I bought these because I was tired of trying to listen to music but also be aware of my surroundings. These were the perfect solution! The sound quality is very good, and the design lets me also hear the noise around me. This way, if someone comes to my desk needing to talk to me, I'm not caught off guard because my ears were covered. I can also connect it to two devices at once - so I can connect it to my phone to listen to music, and my laptop to hear audio in video calls. The battery life has been perfect for what I need - I charge them each day after I use them, and they've never died on me. They're also fairly comfortable, though it is a little bit of an adjustment, and you do get a little tender after wearing these for an extended period like you would with most headphones.

I liked these initially, but maybe it was the fit or feel that didn't sppeal to me. The quality is great and they functioned fine. I run and slthough I liked the idea of open ears, they didn't feel secure or play loud enough. It probably was personal preference though.

After many Bluetooth as well as corded earbuds, this product not only meets my needs but goes beyond expectation. I mainly listen to podcasts and books on tape. Almost any product will work if you are sitting down at rest. But, I mostly use mine to listen while working out during the day and falling asleep at night. Corded products have the annoying habit of getting tangled. Bluetooth products can lack sound quality, are limited by battery life. and button placement can be inconvenient. Personally, I find having anything in my ears extended period of time can be irritating. Another common headphone problem is the need to pop them on and off when someone speaks to you or you want to hear what's going on around you. Therefore, I was attracted to the concept of bone conduction headsets. After checking a few of them out, I came across the AfterShokz - Trekz Titanium Bluetooth Headset. The comfort and sound quality are surprisingly good. No problem with the headphone boring into my ear when I roll over in bed. And a couple extra bonuses: Although the battery life is listed as six hours, I have been able to get past seven. An addition, the time required for a full recharge is surprisingly short compared to any other Bluetooth headset I've tried. Their more expensive lighter version didn't feel as comparable to me, so I got the slightly heavier set. Once my wife saw (and heard) how well mine worked, she chose the lighter version. We are both enjoying liberation from imperfectly fitting earbuds, cord tangles, and poor sound quality.

(I would like to start this review by pointing out that, as of the time of purchase and this writing, I am a salesman for Best Buy. I am not a Portable Audio expert. This review is not a professional endorsement. This review is based on my personal experience as a consumer, and the views and opinions expressed within are my own and do not necessarily reflect those of Best Buy or it's affiliates.) I've owned a pair of these for a few months and I have overall enjoyed them. Wanted to rate them 9/10 but rating system doesn't cover half stars. They sit comfortably on the temples, pair very easily to up to two devices simultaneously, and are very well made. They are not, however, adjustable. The sound quality for music is better than I had initially expected. They are a tad lacking in bass, which I did expect by nature of their design. For pure music enjoyment, you can probably find better sound quality in this price range, but the purpose of the headphones is not sound immersion; it's the sound passthrough. I can clean my kitchen and listen to heavy metal at 50% volume and hear my children yell for me two rooms away. If you want a deeper immersion, they do come with a pair of ear plugs, and it's like wearing a whole different pair of headphones when you use them. I've had absolutely no issue with sound quality for calls. Hearing the other line is crisp. I have had people I've called complain that I was hard to hear, as if the microphone was picking up too much ambient noise, but that issue was inconsistent across paired devices. Still notable. My major complaint with these headphones would probably be vibration. I'm already migraine prone, and I have been unable to determine if these headphones make them more frequent, make them worse, or don't really affect them at all. Again, your mileage may vary, but I thought it was notable. Are they the best headphones money can buy? No. Are they the best headphones you can buy under $100? Probably not. These are a niche product for a particular demographic: People that want to privately hear content, but need to hear their surroundings. Joggers, parents, the worksite. If you are that demographic, you will be hard pressed to find a better solution. Especially under $100.

I bought these for work and got exactly what I needed - a truly wireless headset that provides great sound quality and still allows you to hear ambient sound (with an appropriate volume setting, of course). There's not much weight to them, but they certainly don't feel cheap either. The best part - I don't have sore ears from uncomfortable earbuds / headphones.

Work great anytime you will be active and want a Bluetooth headset. Open ear for me is a huge advantage I can still hear things around me. Did not work as well on the mower but I could have added an ear plug to block that noise. Headband felt very secure battery life has been fine.
