I don't think I've ever taken the time to write a negative review about anything, but I wish one of the negative reviews for this product had struck me hard enough to prevent my spending the money. None did. If you're considering buying this Air Oasis, I hope you will read on and think about your hard-earned money. I have a modest home. Altogether, I have less than 1500sf. I had hoped this unit would help control a subtle organic musty order in a space of only about 500sf in our living room. The house is inhabited by 2 adults, 1 medium sized dog and 1 obese cat. For the most part, aside from the subtle and occasional musty smell, odors are already under control. While there is a fan to pull the air up through the unit, it operates nearly silently. The blue light that is emitted through the top is also extremely subtle. Although so very subtle, the fan and the light are the ONLY noticeable qualities, and at the price of the device, I'm slowly learning to focus on and enjoy both - as there is very little more to even acknowledge. Some reviews mentioned that this unit produces a bleach or chlorine-like odor. I only wish. After 2 months, I have noticed absolutely NO change or improvement in odors or air quality. Compared to recent previous years, we're experiencing a relatively dry spring/summer thus far, yet the mild mildew-like smell does occasionally return, as it always did (without running a HEPA filter-equipped unit). I've repeatedly moved the unit around the room to see if that might help boost its productivity, yet I've experienced zero results. A moderately sized air purifier equipped with a HEPA filter easily did the job.I had hoped that this device might help save a few buck on filter replacements, but it only compounded the problem. If you have a modest odor that needs to be controlled, go old-school and replace your HEPA filter. If that is effective, stick with it. Your wallet will thank you.

I couldn't tell if the purifier was actually working. Every time I would walk into the area that it was suppose to be cleansing it smelled awful and gave me a headache. I can't really describe it but it was a combination of electrical equipment and hospital. Hope this helps.

Made my air a lot worse, had to return the item. It doesn’t help with high VOC but makes it worse. I didn’t buy this exact model but I bought a similar one. Developed an allergy reaction on my arm and it went away right after I stopped using it. Bad smell is also common for this brand.
