The best part about this mask is that, as a wearer of glasses, I don't have the fogging up problem that so many other masks cause when worn "correctly" - without having to slide my glasses down my nose and onto the mask. The seal formed by the filters helps direct all air down out of the mask instead of up into your glasses. That said, this same seal is tricky to get right and can start to feel a little uncomfortable after an hour or more wearing the mask. This is the reason for only a 4-star review. Similarly, the filters are a bit cumbersome to snap in as they don't really provide any tactile feedback you've got them fully snapped in besides simply falling off if you do it wrong. The ear loops are comfortable and fit well, allowing for adjustment via the built-on sliders and breathing is easy.

AirPop Active Pros: Does not leave marks on the face, even with sensitive skin Replaceable filter Storage bag protects mask between uses Adjustable ear loops to fit multiple size faces AirPop Active Cons: Mask loops can hurt ears when worn 4+ hours The nose piece can be bulky and narrow your field of vision slightly $20 for 4-pack of replacement filters is a little more than I'd like to spend Overall I am very happy with this mask and will continue using it. I feel it provides the best balance between solid protection and breathe-ability compared to other cloth and disposable masks I've used previously. Looks WAY better too.

Good Mask, Biased towards a smaller size

The Airpop Active is a two part air filtration mask. There the mask which is some sort of durable strong cloth that is washable and filter inserts which I assume are not washable. The mask handles filtering of dirt and dust while the filter inserts are designed to filter much smaller particles and have these plastic pieces running around the outside which are to help it form a good seal to your face. The box claims the filters are good for 40 hours of use. The mask itself looks good with an adustable semi-elastic ear loop for each ear. This lets you get a good fit or seal around your ears without needing things to be super tight. The mask itself is two shades of gray which gives it a nice loop. Yes, it will look a bit different from a typical single color disposable mask, but I think this color scheme does make it look more athletic or active which is what they're going for anyway. The filters are white with the plastic components being transparent. Assembly of the filter portion to the mask was pretty straightforward. There's an info card in the box that shows how to do it but that's barely needed, especially in this environment where almost everyone knows how to wear a mask at this point. While I found the plastic did help to make a good seal, the mask itself was surprisingly not a good fit for my face. It's slightly small for me which gives me the feeling periodically that I need to adjust it down to ensure my chin remains sealed. I'm 6'1 with what I think its a proportionally average sized head. My 5'5 partner did try it on and found it was a much better fit so I think if you're around average male height or below, this will be fine. Above that and while it may fit, you can expect it to either not be completely comfortable or a great fit. My major issue with two part masks has been breathability. I've tended to struggle to breathe with both a dust filtering mask and a particulate filter. With the Airpop however, it was surprisingly breatheable. While with the other two part masks I've used in the past, I would definitely not do anything really active while wearing them, at least not for more than a minute or two, I felt comfortable going for a bike ride or a job and being able to breathe normally while wearing the mask and exercising. This means that if you're in a situation where you nee to wear a mask for a long period of time, like a long drive to the airport in a rideshare vehicle, you'd be fine wearing this and having the protection (and depending on your face size), good fit. My rating here is a 4. After a week of wear, the fit issues remained so it's not like it was something that I needed time to adjust with the mask. But otherwise, I liked this. Breatheable, stylish, allows for exercise. For those needing additional protection, having replaceable filters is nice. The 40 hour life will make the replacement costs comparable to disposable masks and the Airpop comes with 4 filters right out of the box. If you work up enough of a sweat, it can interfere a bit with the plastic portion that makes the seal. For me, toweling off my face helped with that and honestly, I'd have taken off whatever mask I was wearing to do this anyway.

This is a great mask to have on hand for indoor exercise, but it also does well in other settings. Included in the box are the mask, instructions, and the multi-layered inserts. Without the inserts, it does not seem the mask offers much protection beyond regular cloth masks, but it is much easier to breath through than other cloth masks. Adding the filter is pretty straightforward, but unfortunately, nothing "snaps" into place. You kind just smoosh the hole over the peg until you think it's secure. I wish the little pegs had some clipping or snapping action, because it's often that I'll have to re-smoosh it a few times before actually putting it on. As for the mask itself, it is very good looking and overall very comfortable. I deducted one star because of a quality control concern. The ear loops on one side are a good 2-inches longer than the other. Yes, they can be cinched down with the included chinch beads, but then you have a long dangler and a short dangler. I would rather put them both to the same position and have them dangle equally, but this may be a minor OCD issue with me. In other circumstances, I might have exchanged it for one without this defect, but I'm just going to live with it.

OK Mask for Commuting - Light + Flexible

It’s not my most favorite mask ever, but in your collection it may have a place. Overall, the exterior fabric on the front is light and flexible and fits well to a large face, even with beards. The exterior shell does let light through, which indicates to me it’s not a super great filter, but it includes an inner insert that has a silicone edge that supposedly “seals” to your face and provides better filter, but in my experience the silicone edge doesn’t have enough height to it, and while you CAN adjust it to be more fit, it also makes the mask less comfortable. The ear tabs are comfortable and adjustable and so if you want a mask that is light, easy, and comfortable but don’t need “perfect seal” filtration, this is it.

    Not For All Faces

I live in California which means there are a lot of businesses where masks are required for entry. Over the past year, I have gone through masks of many varieties. Some were tolerable while others fit like a glove but required frequent washing that wore down the life of the mask. I was eager to try the Airpop Active Mask. Design: What drew me to the Airpop mask was the replaceable filters. With changeable filters, there’s less need for me to wash the mask. The filter fits and ‘snaps’ into place. You have to double-check that the filter is secured otherwise as soon as you fit the mask around your face, the filter will pop out. Inside the mask, there’s an Ergo-Flex Seal that conforms around the mouth. It almost feels like a suction cup of sorts. This seal allows the mask to sit away from your nose and mouth so that you don’t feel itchy or suffocated while wearing the mask. The ear loops fit nicely and don’t pull or dig into your ears which is something that I have experienced with my previous masks. Comfort: The comfort of the Airpop felt tricky. As I stated before, the majority of the mask sits away from the nose and mouth as the flex seal conforms to your face. However, depending on the shape of your face, I think you’re going to find yourself wanting to adjust the flex seal flaps. Trying to adjust the flaps is a trial and error of getting the mask on the right way the first time without the flaps being uneven around your mouth and nose. And if you wear glasses, they will fog up while wearing the Airpop. It’s not an immediate fogging, but it will happen. What I like is that there isn’t any itching that I would typically feel from similarly shaped masks. The Airpop sits away from your mouth and nose. My main complaint about this Airpop mask is that if you’re out in the heat, the flex seal will get sweaty and create a moist ring around your face. I wore my mask in the evening while it was 90 degrees, and within 30 mins, the flex ring seal felt ‘slimy’. And keep in mind, I wasn’t doing any exercises or strenuous activities. Going into the store, I felt the need to constantly readjust because of the wetness I was feeling from the seals. Longevity: The Airpop mask comes with several replacement filters and is easy to change out. Each filter is usable for 40 hours before the recommended change. Closing: The Airpop Active Mask has good intentions with its light design and comfort (if you have the proper face for it). Maybe I have a face that isn’t shaped correctly? Sadly, I couldn’t ignore the flex seal flaps that were finicky when adjusting and the fact that they get sweaty in warm weather.

    OK, Pricy mask

I think this mask is fine and COULD be good. There is a decent design to keep the fabric out of your mouth while looking good at the same time. Masks are a very personal choice so this wont work well for everyone and is a relatively pricy option. The reusable filters are a nice touch but I wonder if places that are strict on mask design my question the visible slots on the outer covering. All in all, this mask worked OK with me as a man with a large face, beard and glasses. However, it is not my first choice when I walk out the door. Your results may vary.

So, we all have mixed feelings on masks right? You won't with this one. I know that the price is a bit steep for a mask that we (hopefully) won't have to use much longer... but if you do any sort of working out and your area requires masks indoors... this is the mask for you. I do HIIT cardio workouts 5-6 times per week at a local provider of such classes and we are required to mask up. I give this thing a workout... no pun intended. It is the most comfortable option by a wide margin. No more inhaling the mask while running on the treadmill! Keep comfortable while keeping those around you safe from germs and snag this one for your workouts.

If you’re looking for a lightweight and easy to breathe mask, you’ll love the Active mask by AIRPOP. Yes, it’s a bit pricey, but it also comes with 4 replaceable filters, so it’s like getting 4 high quality masks at once. And this is definitely on the nicer side of the scale. It’s a 2 piece design with a stiffer mesh outer shell and a soft inner filter liner made of material similar to N95 and KN95 masks. Except these have a TPE seal that lines the whole mask to help it seal and be more comfortable against your skin. The only problem I have with this liner is that it doesn’t seal well against facial hair, but then nothing really does either. I just notice it more with this mask than my other ones for some reason. That said, the outer mask does a great job covering any gaps and it’s stiff enough to hold a shape without collapsing as you breathe in and out. Which leads me to the best part about this mask. It’s super comfortable and easy to breathe in. The ear straps are thin and long enough for proper mask tension. I don’t need it so tight that it pulls my ears forward, which I greatly appreciate. And it’s remarkably easy to breathe in - proper seal and all. I was surprised by this, because it’s a 2 layer mask that claims to filter out 99% of particles down to 2.5pm. That’s near N95 level of filtration! However it notes that they’re non-medical, so keep that in mind if you’re working in healthcare. This is an excellent mask for most other things though, especially work, school, and big social gatherings. For going out and about I don’t mind my cheaper masks, but if I’m wearing a mask for hours this is definitely the one I take. If you have to wear a mask for a long time and want something that looks good and is comfortable enough to forget you’re wearing it, I highly suggest trying the AIRPOP Active mask. PROS - Easy to breath - Very comfortable - Light - Filters 99% of particles sized 2.5pm - Comes with 4 replaceable mask filters - Filters last 40 hours each CONS - Gets a little warm under the mask sometimes.

Was really excited to receive the Airpop Active mask as it's everything I've been looking for in a mask, just about. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to do well with a more round face and wider nose. The filter will pinch my nostrils and the way the mask and filter sit together, the mask tends to float and always move around. In the end it wasn't comfortable and tended to be annoying to use.

The video game character Sub-Zero from Mortal Kombat has always been one of my favorite video game characters. If you wear this mask and put on a hoodie, you've got your Sub-Zero costume ready to go. Styling aside, it's a bit painful to get the removable filters of this mask to attach to the rubber connectors but once you get them hooked in they stay in place. By my standard of "any mask you have to wear is uncomfortable" these things feel pretty good. When compared to the blue and white disposal brands I've been using for the last year the AirPop's are a dream to wear. I look forward to the day when wearing a mask is no longer the expectation but until then these will make wearing one a bit more tolerable.

I have used a lot of different masks since my job never went work from home. This mask gets points for working well once fit. I like that it has good coverage for stationary uses. If you have a smaller face, put it on and go! I don't have a smaller face so I had to work at getting it to sit right. I talk for work, it failed on that. I wanted this to work for me but it just didn't.

I was actually kind of excited to try out this mask. All through the pandemic, like most people, I've just been using home made, or not very expensive store bought masks. I've gotten used to them, but always wondered what more expensive masks felt like. This mask had great potential. I like the style. I like that you can replace the filters. And one of the things I was most excited about was that the way it is designed, it would actually hold the mask slightly away from your mouth, giving you slightly more room to breath while still providing protection. This is one of my pet peeves of every other mask I have worn. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to test any of this out because the mask is just too small for my face. To give some context, I'm about 5' 11", 220lbs. And my head is maybe slightly above average. Overall, I would say that I'm just an average to slightly larger than average adult male. But no matter how many times I tried, I just could not get the mask to fit comfortably. The silicone seal would sit just at the tips of my nose and chin. It always felt if I moved my head or mouth the right way, it would just come off, or not provide proper coverage. I really had high hopes for this mask, and I'm sure for people with smaller faces may actually get some good usage out of it. But as it is, it is just too small and uncomfortable for me to wear for more than a minute or two. I can't in good conscience recommend it for anyone of a similar size.
