Phenomenal Sound

After these are broken in, these headphones sound absolutely phenomenal. Talk about clarity, depth, "warmth" and TRUE bass representation. Coming from a long time BOSE owner, I finally get what people mean when they say "accurate" bass. If you are a bass head, these may not be for you because they only truely shine and deliver what the track is giving you and don't have any false, bass amplifications. If its a bass heavy track (with a bass guitar for instance) you will definitely feel the boom the way it was intended. I listen to everything from funk, to jazz to 80's to gangsta rap to orchestrated music. I also do alot of gaming and use these primarily for my Playstation Vita. Absolutely Phenomenal when paired with that device. Everything sounds absolutely wonderful across the board. My ONLY complaint is that I use these things ALL day and they begin to take a toll on your actual ears (not eardrum). Since they rest ON ear and not around ear, if you do alot of long listening sessions they may begin to hurt with the pressure holding them on your ears. The cushioning itself is extremely well made and comfortable otherwise. On the actual box you will see icons this 32ohm set was designed for.. portable gaming devices, tablets, ipods, phones. Ignore any negative comments about the short cord it is PERFECT length for its intentions. The chord is detachable so buy a longer chord if that is your concern. This is an apple friendly product but there is a workaround for Android if you google search. I love these headphones and would highly recommend a purchase, especially if they are on sale.

I recently bought the AKG K-451 headphones this fall to use with my laptop and Iphone. When I first began using them, they sounded a bit 'stiff'' and dull. The sound was strong, but something was missing. So, I continued to use them daily over a period of several weeks, listening to Jazz, New Age, Dance, Rock, Funk, Soul, Acoustic...pretty much anything I could find to measure their sound quality. Obviously, the higher the bit rate, the better the results. It really did well with instrumental music.
After about 40 hours or so of break in period, I started to hear the authoritative sound that AKG is known for. The sound opened up and detail was more present. I couldn't stop listening to these and my ears never got uncomfortable! At the 60 hour break in point, I could tell the drivers in the headphones were primed and fully functioning. The sound is fun, detailed and shines with virtually any genre of music.
Highly recommended for the price!!!

Good Sound for the Price

These headphones may not be for everyone but if you're looking for a sleek package that is easily portable, not too bulky, and packs a decent sound for a great price, these AKGs get the job done.
Do they produce the same sound as comparable open air headphones around the same price range or slightly higher?.... I'd say these are a little behind the game (particular if you're like me and also own pair of grados for home listening) but what if you're like me and need a decent set of cans to listen to in the office and you don't like in ear headphones, these are a great purchase. I've cranked these and do not disturb anyone who sits around me.
Mids and highs are solid and bass response is decent and not over exaggerated compared to Dre Beats or similar.
I listened to a lot of genres with these, and all sounded pretty good, particularly reggae and jazz.
Comfort wise they fit pretty well but do hurt after a few hours of wear (sweaty ears after some time too) but that' is to be expected with this design. I wear glasses occasionally and notice that these become uncomfortable sooner while wearing them. This is typically after 3 to 4 hours of constant wear though and i'm not sure why pair of cans out there are still comfortable after that amount of time for this price point.

Lets just say there louder and much clearer and cheaper than the Bose OE2i headphones. I had 4 days now to compare the 2 set of headphones and I have to be honest the AKG K451 are a better sounding and had more to offer. My only issue is the build quality of the cords that comes with the AKG K451 might not last as long as the cord that comes with the Bose OE2i headphones.

Terrible headphones

These headphones are terrible. Two pairs from different retailers have the same problem: the left driver is muffled. It produces a significantly quieter and lower-quality sound than the right driver. It's particularly noticeable at lower frequencies.
I've tried both cables (rotated in) and three different devices, as well as multiple audio files (including ones for testing headphones). I also switched ears and switched between both drivers with the same ear. The left driver was muffled in every case.
The design is nice, and they're comfortable to wear. However, they don't sound good, so none of that matters.
