Although not an officially branded steelbook, it's a nice addition to my collection. Unfortunately it was the last one and doesn't close right.

Ive never been a big anime fan but I really enjoyed this one alot. If you are a fan of cyberpunk /futuristic stuff you will definitely like this.

First anime I ever saw when I was a kid, came across the steelbook, last in store so I had to have it, 3d embossed case, very nice collectable

This needs to be in your collection, anime fan or not. Sound and picture are well done for Bluray and nice to see all the extras included.

Just get this whichever version you can. Only complaint I have it mine was damaged and I don't think I can exchange this for another one.

All anime fans should add this to their “to watch” list. Fans will be interested in the storyline and impressed with graphics.

I was one of the people that woke up early on the day Akira first arrived on DVD, only to be sorely disappointed that there was a new English dub upon getting home and putting it in my player. The old dub was a relic from my childhood, fading away on my VHS copy bootlegged from a Blockbuster rental. I even ended up buying a Laserdisc player to get Akira in the English dub I remembered... So here it is, in all it's corny glory! Sounding better than ever! Plus I get to brush up on my Japanese with the original sound! There's also the new dub for people who can tolerate Kaneda being pronounced "Canada" and the crap new voice cast with no emotion (I feel nauseous just thinking about it. Screw you, English Vash!), if that's your thing... Plus, all the extras are here! I love the score documentary :)

You can’t go wrong with this limited edition steelbook of Akira!!! Die hard fans and collectors should own this limited edition!

me and my son had finally watched this movie now i see why people praise this epic amine and the packaging is way too awesome.

Quality animation and a Quality Steelbook. One of the greatest anime movies of all time. No spoilers here just go watch it!

I bought this for my nephew. I had to share this movie with him. It was great back then, and it is still a great movie now.
