This dvd is great ! Only thing I would change was the time frame that went by. I would have made known day 1,day 2,etc. as this was going on. Overall very good ! hard to watch knowing there was no help coming to secure the Alamo.

I enjoy the History of the Alamo. A different but good take on it with this movie. If you like Alamo things, a good series to watch is called Texas Rising on Amazon Prime Video. A really good series to watch after watching this Alamo version. I enjoy the John Wayne one as well.

I watched this for the first time after my purchase and thought it was a really good movie. Reminded me of the Patriot. Just wish it was on blu ray. Watching a dvd is hard.

While still Hollywoodized, this film gives a better representation of the actual events of The Alamo than John Wayne's offering.

The Alamo is a well-made historical movie. The men that fought at the alamo, in spite of knowing they were soon to be overcome by defeat, are truly brave and courageous. The cinematography is well done. The acting is great; most notable, Dennis Quad, Billy Bob Thornton. Also appearing is the witty and nonchalant Jim Bowie (Jason Patric). Recommend for everyone, as it is a piece of history. Also recommended: Glory, Last of the Mohicans.

Only the best movie on the planet, Period. Being from Texas most people do not understand how emotional the subject is for us. We pretty much had to fight a Revolutionary War like America did against the British for our state, rather than an entire country. Billy Bob Thorton, Dennis Quaid, were great in this movie. Remember the Alamo!

This rivals the one John Wayne was in. The main characters were portrayed each one with his own strengths and weaknesses. The Alamo has to be one of the best movies to show us the bravery, honor and valor of those Americans who fought and died knowing their loss of life would be a victory for what would become "the United States of America".

The movie was exciting and very interesting. I would highly recommend for viewers to purchase this movie.

An ok presentation done with great actors, great sets and great costumes. Billy Bob Thornton's monologue as Davy Crockett in the end is worth the price of admission.
